Health / Why Breastfeeding Over Artificial Milk by Healthcube(m): 2:19am On Nov 19, 2023
Children are very tender and have very low immunity. You can't compare a 1week old baby to a Teenager.

I encourage every mother to practice exclusive breastfeeding. The benefits of breastfeeding are enormous but I will mention one very important one.

Your newborn baby have a very low immune system. Yes! They do.

This is because they are still fragile and tender. Your breast milk has a very important hormone than will make them stronger and build their immune system so they don't fall sick.

Artificial milk has no hormone. Artificial milk is artificial milk.

Let me tell you a secret you don't know.

Do you know that Breastfed babies have fewer infections and hospitalizations than formula-fed infant?

Yes! 100% Exclusive breast milk should be your best and only option except on the condition your breast is not flowing yet.

Let's keep our children healthy.

A healthy baby is of great joy to the mother.

If you have any comments, drop them below.

Cheers!
Health / When Your Newborn Baby Cries by Healthcube(m): 1:50am On Nov 19, 2023
This is a topic I have always been interested in.

I love babies! And I derive great joy when I care for them.

Newborn babies cry because they can't talk just yet. It is their own way of communicating their feelings and needs to their mothers.

The first thing I do when they cry is to carefully observe them with my eyes or through touch.

I look out for things which may have brought discomfort to them. Babies always want to be made comfortable. Yes! They Do.

If they are hungry they usually cry. If they are uncomfortable they usually cry. If they are sick or in pain they usually cry.

Another thing I discovered that make babies cry is when they have pooed on their diapers. They feel uncomfortable during these times and they cry.

If you can attend to their needs they will be sleeping rather than crying. Or playing rather than crying.

I hope this helps.

I need your comments.

Cheers!
Health / What Happens During Caesarean Section by Healthcube(m): 1:26am On Nov 19, 2023
Hello. I want to say thank you for your engaging comments on my last post. I enjoyed your stories or rather the experiences you shared.

Caesarean section also known as CS is a surgical operation done to safely deliver your baby during childbirth.

It involves a cut through your abdomen performed by the doctor. The operation is a safe path to deliver your baby if there are any complication during childbirth.

You usually won't feel any pain during the operation. Drugs are given to numb the pain or make you calm while conscious.

The delivery of your baby is almost immediate after the incision has been made by the surgeon or doctor.

Adequate care is given to you and your baby during and after the operation.

Our aim is for a safe delivery both to you and your unborn baby.

Don't feel worried. You will be fine.
Health / Your Newborn Baby's Birth Weight by Healthcube(m): 7:32am On Nov 14, 2023
A newborn baby's birth weight is a topic I have always want to talk about. However I will keep it brief.

A baby's birth weight is an important indicator to health.

A child's normal weight is somewhere between 2.5 and 3.5 kg. If the weight is slightly more than 3.5 kg it is also considered to be normal. If your baby weighs less than 2.5 kg, he or she is said to have a low birth weight. This is something that can happen to premature babies.

When your baby is born ask of its birth weight. The labour ward nurse will tell you.

The weight of your baby is an important indicator to the health of your baby.

A baby below 2.5kg is a considered a low birth weight. A baby below 1.5kg is very low birth weight. Babies who weigh less than 1kg are extremely low birth weight.

Health / (2) Reason For Caresarean Section by Healthcube(m): 6:41am On Nov 14, 2023
Most women are worried when they hear Caresarean section.

It's only a safe path to delivering your baby. You need to be strong and not be worried.

When a woman develops complications before or during labour, then a C-section is imminent.

The second reason for this type operation is when your baby is too big to pass your pelvis.

It is called Postdated pregnancy. Your baby size has grown above normal.

The best option will be a Caesarean section. It is the healthy way for delivering you and your unborn baby.

Cheers!

Health / (1) Reason For Caresarean Section by Healthcube(m): 6:18am On Nov 14, 2023
There are many reasons why the doctor will recommend c-section for you and your baby. I will mention just one of them.

A woman ultrasound sound scan shows breech presentation.

Breech presentation is unhealthy for you and your baby.

Breech presentation is one of the reasons.

If your USS results shows breech presentation, it means your baby cannot be delivered vaginally.

Caesarean section is imminent and most likely to occur.

Normal delivery is Cephalic and should not be Breech
Health / Your Unborn Baby Should Position This Way by Healthcube(m): 5:34am On Nov 14, 2023
Before delivering your newborn. Please mothers you are advised to regularly come for Antenatal visits.

During Antenatal visits, you and your baby are being assessed and cared for.

The position of your baby in the womb matters alot.

The normal way your baby should lie in the womb is a medical term called cephalic presentation.

In cephalic presentation, your baby is positioned head-down, facing your back, with the chin tucked to its chest and the back of the head ready to enter the pelvis.

If your baby doesn't present the cephalic way then there is a problem👇

Health / Caesarean Section For Childbirth by Healthcube(m): 6:47am On Nov 06, 2023
85% of childbirth in Nigeria are caesarean section. I was discussing with colleagues some days ago. Why is caesarean a common option for most childbirth?. I need your opinions.

Well, for a fact I have to be honest. Caesarean is super fast. I was in the theatre some days ago and we had an elective caesarean section for a 31 year old woman.

The operation started at 4:45pm and the baby was already out at 5pm on the dot. Do you really think is the best choice for child delivery.

I need your comment or opinions rather.
Health / Don't Miss Your Antenatal Clinic Days by Healthcube(m): 6:01am On Nov 06, 2023
As a Nurse working in the government health sector I came to realize that most women don't listen. 98% of history taken from patients are not genuine.

Well, it has become a norm to us. Please when you go for your antenatal visit before delivery of your newborn. Learn to speak the truth. The truth is what we seek. It will help us a long way to care for you and your baby.

Childbirth is not easy as you think it is. What is going inside your womb many of you don't know and that why you need to take your antenatal visit very seriously.

Don't miss your clinic days for any reason.

Health / Blood Glucose Test For Diabetes by Healthcube(m): 5:45am On Nov 06, 2023
There are two simple blood test for Diabetes. As a Nurse working in the health care sector I test the sugar level of patients whenever they come on their clinic days.

In these two test, I prefer the first one. We call it fasting blood sugar. It is done in the early hours of the morning. I do tell my patients not to eat or drink water before coming.

It is the most accurate blood test for diabetes. It should fall within the normal range of 70mg/dl to 100mg/dl.

Health / How I Lost My Mum To Diabetes. by Healthcube(m): 5:32am On Nov 06, 2023
Diabetes is a silent killer. It took the life of mother. This was the same question I asked myself when I saw her suffering. How do I get rid of diabetes?
I hate diabetes. It makes me sad anytime I remember how she felt, she couldn't eat the food she usually eat, her lifestyle was controlled by all of it. I kept praying to God to keep her alive for me. She was never happy, she felt controlled by a sickness she knows nothing about.
I use to tell my friends that diabetes is worst than HIV AIDS. Yes I hate diabetes. It makes me sad anytime I remember the struggles she went through dealing with it. Please if you are diagnosed of diabetes, ensure you take good care of yourself. There is no cure for diabetes. There are drugs for controlling it.
Follow a meal plan. Avoid stressful activities. Avoid smoking and bad eating habits. Avoid over thinking. Take very good care of yourself. Do regular blood sugar test. Don't skip your medications. Set an alarm if you are going to forget taking them. There are two types of glucose test. The fasting blood sugar test and the random blood sugar test. The fasting sugar is a test done in the early hours of the morning. That time the body is relaxed and you must ensure not to eat or drink anything. Normal range for fasting blood sugar is between 70mg/dl - 100mg/dl. Monitor your sugar levels using the fasting blood sugar test. It is most accurate. Try as much as possible not to go above the normal range.
A sickness which controls how you live your life is a very deadly sickness. I hate to see people suffer. It makes me sad to see anyone suffer. Life is fickle, it's so sad am saying this, honestly. Life can change in a second, the next moment of your life is not guaranteed. I am emotional as I type this. Let God take control of the pain and agony we are facing. The struggles is real dealing with it. You must be mentally alert to survive it. You must also be financially alert to survive it.
Diabetes drugs are quite expensive. Keeping your meal plan in check also cost money. My friends and I were discussing about how to help out all diabetic patients. Trust me, we have been searching all over the internet for a remedy to this silent killer(diabetes).
We have been asking questions and doing our research, and we found out this herbal treatment which is pretty much effective in normalizing blood sugar level. There were no side effects from using it. We asked and did our investigation. It has been really helping a lot of diabetic patients.
