Business / 8 Marketing And Refilling Tips For Local Gas Retail Resellers by healthmister01(m): 10:56pm On Sep 11
LPG reseller retail shops are sometimes refer to as black market. The system for refilling gas cylinders at local LPG retail shops is a lot different from the gas plant skid filling system. LPG reseller shops make use of the tank-to-tank method, which comes also with many ups and downs. Here are marketing and refilling tips for local LPG resellers in Nigeria:

1. When refilling a new gas cylinder bottle, slow flow of gas is a usual thing. Not to worry thou, this is usually caused due to the high pressure or compressed air in the gas cylinder. This follows gas obstruction during a refill, and a static scale reading. To fix this, remove the refilling nozzle, purge out some air with an object, this allow space and expansion area for gas to pass through and properly enter the gas cylinder. Reconnect the refilling nozzle, then restart again. Slow flow of gas to gas cylinder is caused by TRAPPED air inside the cylinder bottle. Purging the air is the best way. Air inside of the gas cylinder must be eliminated. It should have some free expansion area for enabling gas inside of the cylinder.

2. Using a digital scale. Best scale to have for local LPG retail shops is a digital scale. A digital scale that comes with double screen dashboard, easy to read and understand. It helps you know the level of LPG being fuelled. It also helps you to determine the empty weight of gas cylinders, and prevent unnecessary issues caused by refilling, customers who may complain of cheating or incomplete refills. To use the scale, disconnect the regulator from the cylinder bottle head, then place it on the digital scale, making sure it doesn't rest on any other objects. Place on a plain level, flat surface. The digital scale wil read the total weight of the gas cylinder bottle, including the gas remaining amount inside. To refill a gas cylinder bottle, fix in the refilling nozzle gun to the gas cylinder valve, with the gas cylinder still on the scale. After then, push the TARE button on the control panel. Open the refilling nozzle tap, then start refilling. Note, do not tare weight gas cylinder bottles before inserting refilling nozzle gun, it should be done after.

3. Home service delivery is compulsory. You should not just wait for customers to come over to you. You can offer home delivery service, with extra (less) charges. Gas cylinder bottles, especially if it is the 50kg tanks, are heavier when fully refilled, and some customers do come over from long distance. Offering home delivery service system is one way to keep your customers and beat local competitors.

4. Business cards can have your number, name and other important info printed on them. Including office/business address and email address. This helps customers to easily reach you in case of any further assistance, enquires and services.

5. Sell other LPG equipments and >>>> READ FULL ARTICLE HERE:

Agriculture / Latest Methods To Properly Plant And Harvest Ugu Pod Seeds (pumpkin Leaves) 2024 by healthmister01(m): 9:50am On Sep 01
Easy UGU POD (Seed) Planting and Cultivating

Your pod attains maturity about 3 months, counting from the day the female flower Fertilized. Once the pod is ready for harvest, you may notice wilting of leaves, even when you feed your plant with essential nutrients and water. Pod changes from lustrous sky blue to rusty light grey color. As your pod gets older than 3 months, towards the fourth month, the enclosed seeds may split. In the next few days, these seeds start sprouting inside the pod.

In case you harvest your pod late and you notice splitting/sprouting, please, do not sun-dry. Remove the jelly coat and air dry for not more than a day, to reduce moisture. You can plant after this.

If your pod falls off before 3 months and you notice the seeds are well formed but not very strong, do not dry. Remove the jelly coat and nurse the seed under a partial shade.

You can store a matured pod for few months once you store in cool place.

Ugu, also known as fluted pumpkin or "Telfairia occidentalis", is a popular leafy vegetable in many African countries. It is highly nutritious and widely used in various dishes. Growing ugu on your farm can be a rewarding venture, but it requires proper planting, cultivation, and harvesting techniques >>>>> CONTINUE READING

Agriculture / When Is The Best Time And Season To Plant Ugu (pumpkin Leaves) In Nigeria? by healthmister01(m): 12:40pm On Aug 28
Is it late to plant ugu (Pumpkin Leaves) now?

You can plant it anytime you feel like. It is not late. Plant it and stake it once it grows.

However, I suggest you allow the rainy season to start properly, because if you plant ugu now you will have to water it, so I will be of the opinion you plant it in April/May. Talking from experience.

Ugu is a full time vegetables. Before going to it, you need to be ready to water it without depending on raining reason. I once planted ugu during December time and is grow well, because i watered it twice in a day.

April is the best month for it, because of rain, however, climate change has effected everything. Any season is the season nowadays. You can plant now. Plant ugu all season round as long as you have source of water.

Agriculture / Pig Farming: How To Stop Pigs From Fighting Each Other On The Farm? by healthmister01(m): 11:09am On Jul 01
Pigs are social animals, but sometimes they can get into fights which can be bad for them and for the farm.

Here are some easy ways to stop pigs from fighting:

1. Pigs need room to move around. When they're crowded, they might fight more. Make sure each pig has plenty of space to eat, drink, and rest comfortably.

2. When you bring new pigs into a group, do it slowly. Pigs have a pecking order, and new pigs need time to fit in. This helps prevent fights over who's in charge.

3. Pigs can get cranky when they're hungry. Give them enough food that's good for them so they don't fight over it. A balanced diet keeps them happy.

4. Keep an eye on your pigs. If they start to look angry or make loud noises, they might be about to fight. Separate any pigs that look like they're going to fight to keep them safe.

5. Pigs can get bored, just like people. Give them things to play with or stuff to explore, like toys or things to root around in. This keeps them from fighting out of boredom.

6. If pigs do start fighting, separate them right away. Use fences or pens to keep them apart until they calm down. Then, you can try putting them back together slowly.

7. Sometimes, pigs fight because >>> READ THE FULL ARTICLE HERE πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

Food / When Are Pigs Ready For Slaughter - At What Age? by healthmister01(m): 12:06pm On Jun 29
In short, pigs are usually ready for slaughter when they're between 5 to 7 months old. Farmers decide based on how big the pigs are, how they've grown, and what the market wants. Knowing these things can help you raise healthy pigs and sell good-quality pork.
In pig farming, knowing the right time to slaughter pigs is really important. As a pig farmer, you need to make sure the pigs are the right size and quality for selling.

Pigs grow at different rates depending on their breed, what they eat, and how healthy they are. Usually, pigs are ready to be slaughtered when they're between 5 to 7 months old. By this time, they've grown enough muscles and fat for good meat quality.

Weight Of Pig Matters
The weight of a pig is a big factor. Farmers usually slaughter pigs when they weigh between 200 to 300 pounds (around 90 to 135 kilograms). This weight means the meat will be good and there’s enough of it to make it worth selling.

In case of slaughtering pigs, different markets have different preferences. Farmers pay attention to what buyers want and adjust when they slaughter pigs based on these preferences. This helps farmers sell their pigs at the right time and make more money.

Business / LPG Mixture: Which Cooking Gas Is Best In Nigeria - Propane Or Butane? by healthmister01(m): 2:32am On Jun 25
Knowing The Difference Between Propane And Butane In Nigeria

This basically can depends on each countries and climate condition. In the UK, propane gas is widely distributed, because propane last as long in cold whether than butane. The main difference between the two LPG's is the ability to evaporate at lower temperature, which means that in colder climates, butane evaporate rate can slow to the point where the appliance will not work efficiently or fail to work altogether. Luckily in Nigeria, what we have available is the mixture of both propane and butane. So, no need for worries here. Butane is said to burn slowly than propane. Propane is known to burn more quickly than Butane. Propane also burn blue flames. You can recognize 100% propane gas by the blue flames.

Propane and butane are commonly used in both homes and industries today. They power a variety of appliances like car engines, stoves, ovens, and heaters. People often think they are the same because they are similar gases used for heating and fuel. However, we have highlights specific similarities and differences between them. These differences can affect their benefits or drawbacks depending on how they are used.

Applications Of Propane And Butane In Nigeria

Understanding the similarities between propane and butane is important before looking at how they differ. Petroleum is used to get both gases, either as oil or natural gas. Many people in Africa, especially in Nigeria, know about LPG because they use it for cooking at home, powering vehicles, or even some appliances like iron or heaters. However, not everyone knows all the ways LPG, propane, and butane can be used, so it's important to understand their differences and advantages. Both gases produce similar results when burned, creating carbon dioxide, water, carbon monoxide, and soot. But their molecular structures make them different. Butane has four carbon atoms and ten hydrogen atoms, making it a four-carbon alkane. Propane, on the other hand, has three carbon atoms and eight hydrogen atoms, making it a three-carbon alkane. Propane is more commonly used and is used to heat homes. Propane is also great for engines that use spark ignition because of its high octane rating. If propane spills, it doesn't harm the land, surface water, or groundwater.

Butane is a flammable gas made of hydrocarbons. It can turn into liquid easily and doesn't have any color or smell. People often use butane for lighters and camping stoves. It's also used in aerosol sprays, as a fuel for heating, in refrigerators, and in making various products. Butane is part of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Since 1987, hydrocarbons have replaced chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) as the most common propellant in aerosol sprays. Many aerosol products today contain butane.

What is the mixture of Propane and Butane For LPG in Nigeria?

LPG (cooking gas) is gotten during the refining of petroleum (crude oil), or extracted from natural gas streams as they emerge from the ground. The approved Nigerian LPG (cooking gas) for domestic consumption is 100% Butane or a mixture of 85% butane and 15% propane, provided propane is not more than 15%
