I have been experiencing difficulties while trying to schedule an appointment on avits. I paid the mrv fee with first bank and i'm currently in the pre-approval stage. Is there anything that can be done to expedite this as i'm to resume in january.

Also attach proof of payment. I've been sending this email for over 2 weeks and no response until someone told me to resend and attach proof of payment yesterday. It was approved in less than 2hrs

Good afternoon all, please I need your guidance, I have made my MRV payment for my F1 visa through the online link payment to first bank and gotten my receipt, I inputted the reference number and the date of payment which was last Friday it will just load and say bank details updated successfully and return back to generating deposit slip page, the first image attached is shows when it’s loading after inputting my reference number then it says back details updated successfully and the second image attached shows it returning to the generating invoice page, what can I do here ? 😔😔😔😔

I do this filling every day and I opened a ticket about it , they are yet to get back to me. Annoying part is the money can't be refunded else I would have made payment from a dollar card

Please I need an urgent attention and answer to my situation.
What’s the criteria for securing a GA position for the new term (Fall) after initially securing admission for previous term (Spring) but was advised to defer because of the limited GA positions.

Even though I did the GTA survey including GTA interview for Spring before being advised to defer, I want to know what to prepare for and how to take full advantage of getting a GA position for Fall.
The school is GSU.

I have a question regarding waiting for funding after getting admission, is there any preparation or process involved in securing an Assistantship position after already passed through the GTA survey and interview from the previous admission process?

I know someone who is looking to secure a GA position for Fall, he was deferred from Spring semester because he couldn't get a position.
Is he going to get automatically secured for a position this time around?




If you had secured admission and not waiting for funding, start Asap. If you seek for funding, I would advise you to wait until you receive your letter.

Thank you for your response, the program is Master’s in Biology.
Only an admission letter was received but was advised to wait for an offer letter which usually states the type of GA the admission comes with.

The course advisor also advised that the student defer to Fall (after initially asked to wait for a given period of weeks to receive the offer letter) stating that GA positions are always limited for Spring compared to Fall.



Most of the people I know who got into GSU have a very high GPA (first class).
Their full funding came with their admission letter (no separate application) and then again you haven't stated the program you applied to.



Did you share with the graduate school your reason for deferring and have you submitted your SOA?

Be intentional and let them know what you are looking for. Send a mail, you might be lucky to even get a position as a Graduate Assistant.

Work on your CV very well to show competency in either GA, TA, or RA ( or the triple) positions.

Hey Mrsoftlife, thank you for the clarity but what about the case of someone who got admission in GSU for spring and didn’t get GA. Even though he has already deferred to Fall for a better GA opportunity, what are his chances and what does he have to do to get a GA for Fall?


All schools.
The available slots are limited (remember funding usually comes in the form of GA, RA, and TA) which is why it's good to apply to these schools as early as possible.

PS: GA (Graduate assistantship), Research/Resident Assistantship, Teaching Assistantship.

Ensure your CV, SOP, and Reference letter are well-written to market your skills. No free lunch!

I think you should try and apply to Georgia State University. You need a good SOP and reference letters in addition to your first class.

Remember funding is limited and it is first come, first served.

Guys, how long does it take to receive offer letter after accepting your admission?

I’ve been offered graduate admission, I received the admission email two days ago but I'm yet to receive my offer letter, do I have to do anything or I should keep waiting?
