Dangote Group has signed an agreement with Automaker, Transit Support Services Limited, for the supply of Shacman trucks being assembled at the Anambra Motor Manufacturing Company Limited’s (ANAMMCO) factory in Emene, Enugu. This comes shortly after the group injected about N63 billion for the purchase of 3,500 units of trucks aimed at reviving the ANAMMCO plant. The disclosure was made by the Chairman of Transit Support Services Ltd, Frank Nneji during a tour of the auto plant. Why this matters: The auto plant had been dormant for many years until Dangote Group signed an agreement for the production of Shacman trucks. The production of the vehicles led to the recall of all ANAMMCO staff, who for years, have not been doing anything as the company went moribund. The agreement has reportedly benefited the people in the area immensely through job creation and training of young school leavers. According to Nneji, the revival of the auto plant and the investment of Dangote has not only benefitted company but has also returned the pride of the South-East economy, which the ANAMMCO auto plant represents. About 90 per cent of trucks produced here are for Dangote. Right now at the dump, we have about 300 units. Since last year, we have done 800 units. Dangote Group since inception has bought about 3,500 units from us. It also patronises the Shackman trucks for its refinery currently being built in Lagos,” he said. Nneji added that the project had also kept busy the Onne port which was dormant for many years. He explained that the port is used for the delivery of vehicle components supplied to the ANAMMCO plant by its partner from China, Shaanxi Heavy Duty Automobile Import & Export Company. Also speaking was the General Manager, Corporate Communications of Dangote Group, Mr Sunday Esan, who made it known that the quality of the Shacman trucks was satisfactory, as he assured Nneji of continuous patronage. “Dangote Group is expanding. Apart from the cement, sugar and salt factories, among others, we’re starting a petroleum refinery, the biggest in Africa. All these will require a high number of trucks. It is a long-term relationship,” he said. https://nairametrics.com/2020/02/24/dangote-injects-n63-billion-to-revive-moribund-anammco/

BREAKING: Court Sends DG Arts And Culture, Runsewe To Prison Justice Jude Okeke of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has sentenced the Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), Olusegun Runsewe, to prison. Justice Okeke made the order on Thursday while ruling on a motion drawn from a suit filed by Ummakalif Limited against the Minister of the FCT; Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA); DG of NCAC, and the Minister for Culture and Tourism, as the first, second, third and fourth defendants respectively. In the motion, the claimant sought an order of the court committing Runsewe to prison for contempt of court order made on December 15, 2017. READ ALSO: Lai Mohammed Orders Implementation Of 70% Local Content In Broadcasting Justice Okeke described Runsewe’s action as highly contemptuous, adding that committing him to the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCS) would serve as a deterrent to others who abuse office and disobey court orders with disdain. He ordered the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to arrest Runsewe with immediate effect and hand him over to the NCS pending when he retraces his steps. The court had ordered parties in the suit to stay proceedings on every activity concerning the demolition of the Arts and Craft village located in the Central Business District area of the FCT. However, the respondents in the suit, particularly the NCAC flouted that rule. https://www.channelstv.com/2020/01/09/breaking-court-sends-runsewe-dg-arts-and-culture-to-prison/

Inside life If she can reverse the hand's of time dakolo's will let God be the judge and they won't go public like they did |
A federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court sitting in Bwari has dismissed the suit filed by photographer, Busola Dakolo, against the Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo. The court also ordered Busola to pay N1million for wasting the court’s time. According to the PUNCH, Justice Oathman Musa, in his ruling on Thursday held that the matter amounts to injustice and an abuse of judicial process adding that the case is empty and purely sentimental. Justice Musa said that the case was aimed more at cruelty than obtaining justice. The court also awarded costs of N1million against Busola Dakolo and held that the fine should have been 10 times more because the court’s time was wasted. Busola, who is also the wife of Musician, Timi Dakolo, in her suit filed in September, accused Fatoyinbo of rape. She, therefore, demanded “a personal letter of apology” from the cleric to show honest remorse for his misdeeds. In the suit, which was filed on her behalf by her lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi and Co of Law corridor, Dakolo asked the court to declare that Fatoyinbo’s denial of his alleged acts contained jointly and/or severally through a press statement he released on June 28, 2019, had caused her continuous emotional distress and amounted to intentional infliction of emotional distress on her. Fatoyinbo’s lawyer, Alex Iziyon (SAN), however, argued that the prayer could not be granted, describing it as a frivolous suit. Fatoyinbo had earlier in a press statement responded to Dakolo’s allegations. He declared that he has never raped anyone before. He thereafter asked the FCT High Court to dismiss the suit filed by Dakolo. In an application filed through his lawyers, he also demanded that he is awarded a sum of N50 million as damages. According to the application, he called for the dismissal of the suit on the grounds that it is incompetent and frivolous.

A feisty four-metre (13-foot) king cobra was pulled from a sewer in southern Thailand in an hour-long operation, a rescue foundation said Tuesday, describing the reptile as one of the largest they had ever captured. Footage of the daring capture showed a man chasing the cobra — the world’s longest venomous snake — into a dark and cramped drainage pipe. The cobra splashed around in water and tried to slither back into the pipe, but was pulled out by the tail after multiple attempts. A security guard on the housing estate where it was found first alerted the rescue group on Sunday Seven rescue workers, including me, went there,” said Kritkamon Kanghae, 26, adding that the estate was built on a plot that was once jungle. Kritkamon said the snake was more than four metres long, weighed 15 kilos (33 pounds), and was the third-largest they had found. It was later released into the wild. Thailand is teeming with reptiles, and several species of cobra are native to the southeast Asian country. References to the deadly snake fill folklore. The main international airport was built on an area that used to be called “Cobra’s Swamp”. Snakes have increasingly become a headache for residents in the Thai capital, where the fire department is sent out to respond to calls from alarmed residents Authorities are reluctant to get rid of the reptiles because they help to control a rat population that could otherwise threaten crops and food stocks. King cobras, however, mainly feed on other snakes — particularly the rat snake. (AFP) https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/asia/four-metre-king-cobra-wrestled-from-sewer-in-thailand-12001586
