Am a member of the school's press council.

ALL academic staff unions in all polytechnics in Oyo State, as well as the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora, under the aegis of Joint Forum of Academic Staff (JAFAS), have commenced an indefinite strike beginning from today.

This was contained in a communique issued and jointly signed by chairmen of the affected institutions, at the end of a meeting held at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, on Monday.

The meeting, which had in attendance rectors and provosts of the institutions, was meant to resolve the issue of the proposed industrial action by the unions, owing to the non-payment of five months salaries of members. “An indefinite strike will start on Tuesday, August 25, owing to the non-payment of five months salaries. The unions were compelled to take the strike option to protest against the continued and unwarranted death of our members owing to non payment of salaries,” the communique read.
