Politics / Prophet Says Democracy May Die After Pmb's Regime by HenryOmon(m): 7:22am On Mar 15, 2017
Democracy may die in Nigeria after PMB – Clergy
Prophet Sunday Iyunade, the President of Pentecostal Sanctuary Bible Ministries Worldwide, had predicted the emergence of Donald Trump as the President of the United States of America, the recession in Nigeria and many others. The Prophet has predicted a possible end to democracy in Nigeria after the administration of President Buhari.
He made this statement in Ijebu-Ode during a press conference of the 21st anniversary and 15th convention of the Ministry. “Pray against threat to democracy”, he said.
“I had prophesied before the 2015 elections, some doubted, but, it came to pass. I told you about the first three month of enjoyment after Buhari’s election and what will happen in the remainder of his tenure which we are experiencing now . This government will work towards one party system. There is not much hope for democracy in this regime as we will not operate democratic system. For now, election has been suspended in Nigeria as the choice of the people will not be reflected on the throne. We need to pray for political stability and must pray against threat to political stability as there will be threats to democracy. We need to seriously pray for our governments and politics to survive as various new dimensions of crisis will emerge in this dispensation. The government will disorganise all the democratic structures they met on ground and will set up another structure. The government will pocket Nigeria and rule with a mighty, powerful, iron and steel hand and very soon, Nigerians will ask God questions and many will moan under this government. This is because there will be a repeat of the Roman Empire rule in Nigeria. The government will depreciate the economy and power to rule.”

He complained about the implementation of the Treasury Single Account and the negative impact it has on the Nigerian economy.
“The little Nigeria makes has been buried by putting all onto one account, TSA. The money that ought to be increasing has been decreasing in the account. The TSA has killed the Nigerian economy. The government has borrowed almost 14 trillion naira ever since they came to office”, he said.
He made more prophesies that the people of south and south west will be marginalised and international businesses will grow. He encouraged Nigerians to put their money in foreign investments.
He mentioned that their have been sessions of prayers over the health of the President and said that anyone could be sick.
The Prophet also emphasised that no matter the efforts made by different regions, Nigeria will not break.

Phones / Etisalat May Leave Nigeria Due To Debt Crisis by HenryOmon(m): 12:11am On Mar 15, 2017
Etisalat May Leave Nigeria Over $1.2bn Loan Default

One of the telecoms firm in Nigeria may leave. Abu Dhabi telecoms group, Etisalat, may sell its stake in Etisalat Nigeria. The telecom group was said to have defaulted on a $1.2bn loan, but has requested for a restructure of their debt. Reuters quoted two sources as informing it on Monday.

In order not to widen the debt crisis, The Central Bank of Nigeria and the Nigerian Communications Commission discussed with banks to pursue a default deal rather than a receivership for Etisalat Nigeria.

The telecom group has scheduled to meet with creditors on Tuesday (today) or Wednesday to discuss the default, the sources said.

It was not clear whether Etisalat, which has a 45 per cent holding in the Nigerian unit after converting a loan to equity in February, would divest completely.

All effort to get the comment of the Senior Vice-President of Etisalat, Ahmed Bin Ali, was fruitless while the Nigerian reps were equally unreachable.

“It is at an early stage,” one source said of the sale.

Last week a banking source told Reuters that the Nigerian affiliate of Etisalat had given notice to its lenders that it would miss a payment in February, but the two sides have yet to agree terms.

Etisalat Nigeria signed a $1.2bn medium-term facility with 13 indigenous banks in 2013, which it used to refinance an existing $650m loan and modernise its network.

But an economic downturn, a currency devaluation and dollar shortages on Nigeria’s interbank market led to it missing payment, the Vice-President for regulatory affairs at Etisalat Nigeria, Ibrahim Dikko, said.

Banks involved in the loan include Zenith Bank, GTBank, First Bank, UBA, Fidelity Bank, Access Bank, Ecobank, FCMB, Stanbic IBTC Bank and Union Bank.

Abu Dhabi state investment fund, Mubadala, which has a 40 per cent stake in Etisalat Nigeria, wants a solution found, another source said. Mubadala declined to comment.

Etisalat has been hit hardest among foreign firms by dollar shortages in Nigeria. Firms that invested in the country in the era of high oil prices are struggling to repay loans or keep operating as the oil producer suffers from a slump in oil revenues, hitting its currency and dollar reserves.

Etisalat’s Chief Strategy Officer, Khalifa Hassan al-Forah al-Shamsi, told Reuters that it was making sure that in markets where there were currency fluctuations, operating costs were in local currencies. Though he was not responsible for Nigeria.

Etisalat Nigeria has 20 million subscribers, according to Nigeria’s telecom regulator, making it the country’s number four mobile operator with a 14 per cent market share. South Africa’s MTN has 47 per cent; Globacom, 20 per cent; and Airtel, a subsidiary of India’s Bharti Airtel, 19 per cent. — AIT

Celebrities / Chimamanda Makes More Shocking Comments On Transgenders That Will Surprise You by HenryOmon(m): 10:14pm On Mar 13, 2017
Chimamanda Adichie amongst other things is one Nigerian author who has showed support for transgender.

Chimamanda Adichie took to facebook to clarify her statement on trans-women.

She has faced a lot of criticism after she showed her support for transgender.

She was on Channel 4 recently where she stated that when people talk about trans women, her feeling is trans women are trans women.

She went further, “I think the whole problem of gender in the world is about our experiences. It’s not about how we wear our hair or whether we have a vagina or a penis”.

On her facebook page, she wrote:

‘Because I have been the subject of much hostility for standing up for LGBTQ rights in Nigeria, I found myself being very defensive at being labeled ‘trans phobic.’ My first thought was – how could anyone think that?

“I didn’t like that version of myself. It felt like a white person saying ‘I’m not racist, I supported civil rights.’

“Because the truth is that I do think one can be trans phobic while generally supporting LGBTQ rights.

“And so I want to put my defensiveness aside and clarify my thoughts. To make sure that I am fully understood.

“I said, in an interview, that trans women are trans women, that they are people who, having been born male, benefited from the privileges that the world affords men, and that we should not say that the experience of women born female is the same as the experience of trans women.

“This upset many people, and I consider their concerns to be valid. I realize that I occupy this strange position of being a ‘voice’ for gender rights and so there is an automatic import to my words.

“I think the impulse to say that trans women are women just like women born female are women comes from a need to make trans issues mainstream. Because by making them mainstream, we might reduce the many oppressions they experience.

“But it feels disingenuous to me. The intent is a good one but the strategy feels untrue. Diversity does not have to mean division.

“Because we can oppose violence against trans women while also acknowledging differences. Because we should be able to acknowledge differences while also being supportive. Because we do not have to insist, in the name of being supportive, that everything is the same. Because we run the risk of reducing gender to a single, essentialist thing.

“Perhaps I should have said trans women are trans women and cis women are cis women and all are women. Except that ‘cis’ is not an organic part of my vocabulary. And would probably not be understood by a majority of people. Because saying ‘trans’ and ‘cis’ acknowledges that there is a distinction between women born female and women who transition, without elevating one or the other, which was my point.

“I have and will continue to stand up for the rights of transgender people. Not merely because of the violence they experience but because they are equal human beings deserving to be what they are.

“I see how my saying that we should not conflate the gender experiences of trans women with that of women born female could appear as if I was suggesting that one experience is more important than the other. Or that the experiences of trans women are less valid than those of women born female. I do not think so at all – I know that trans women can be vulnerable in ways that women born female are not. This, again, is a reason to not deny the differences.

“Gender is a problem not because of how we look or how we identify or how we feel but because of how the world treats us.

“Girls are socialized in ways that are harmful to their sense of self – to reduce themselves, to cater to the egos of men, to think of their bodies as repositories of shame. As adult women, many struggle to overcome, to unlearn, much of that social conditioning.

“A trans woman is a person born male and a person who, before transitioning, was treated as male by the world. Which means that they experienced the privileges that the world accords men. This does not dismiss the pain of gender confusion or the difficult complexities of how they felt living in bodies not their own.

“Because the truth about societal privilege is that it isn’t about how you feel. (Anti-racist white people still benefit from race privilege in the United States). It is about how the world treats you, about the subtle and not so subtle things that you internalize and absorb.

“This is not to say that trans women did not undergo difficulties as boys. But they did not undergo those particular difficulties specific to being born female, and this matters because those experiences shape how adult women born female interact with the world.

“And because to be human is to be a complex amalgam of your experiences, it is disingenuous to say that their being born male has no effect on their experience of gender as trans women.

“Of course there are individual differences. But there are always individual differences. We speak of ‘women’s issues’ knowing that while there are individual differences, the truth of human history is that women as a group have been treated as subordinate to men. And we speak of male privilege acknowledging that individual men differ but that men as a group are nevertheless accorded privileges by the world.

“I think of feminism as Feminisms. Race and class shape our experience of gender. Sexuality shapes our experience of gender. And so when I say that I think trans women are trans women, it is not to diminish or exclude trans women but to say that we cannot insist – no matter how good our intentions – that they are the same as women born female. Nor do I think that we need to insist that both are the same.

“To acknowledge different experiences is to start to move towards more fluid – and therefore more honest and true to the real world – conceptions of gender.”

More reaction to this is envisaged from the Nigerian Public..

Celebrities / See What Tonto Dikey Said About Her Husband That Will never cease To Amaze You by HenryOmon(m): 3:22pm On Mar 13, 2017
Tonto Dikeh took to Instagram yesterday to clear the air over the reports by her hubby on her behaviour. Her hubby accused her of smoking while breastfeeding and pulled a gun on his house help and guards.

Tonto Dike called her husband a Fraudster and Child killer for falsely accusing her. She has denied the video of the crime officer, Superindent Oppong and referred to him as the ‘Lying Police’.

With this new development of her marriage saga, she warned her Husband that she has pictures and videos to prove that she is indeed a victim of domestic violence.

She affirmed that the reason she released the picture was not to tarnish his image -as he is still the father of her child- but to vindicate herself of the rumour being spread about her.

In her latest instagram post she stated;

“Domestic violence is a scourge in the world. In Africa especially, this evil is rampant. African traditions preach & teach the almost absolute submission of the wife to the husband or the husband’s almost ownership of the wife. Hence, to the uninformed & uneducated woman, domestic violence is easily accepted as a norm, this is precisely the reason why domestic violence is rampant in our society. It is therefore obvious that one of the most effective ways to curb this scourge is to inform and educate people; l/we must create the awareness of the wrongness of this act, with a view of solving this problem permanently. I dnt take for granted that God has made me a voice. He has blessed me with means & a celebrity status. Most of all, I am a strong Christian. Our Christian faith encourages us to use the gifts given to us by God for the benefit of others.I also have come to learn & realise, that God allows us to experience things so that on the long run we can help others avoid or survive similar experiences. It is for this reason that I shared my horrible experiences of wife battery, perhaps I might help someone;if I only succeed in helping one person,it would have been well worth it.

It has been brought to my attention my EX is spreading scandalous & baseless lies about me, he has even resorted to some very intimidating tactics in a bid to discredit me and my story.I would like to state for the avoidance of doubt, that everything I have shared is true.I went through those experiences and to the glory of God, I survived and I am a better person today.I would like to inform my antagonists that I have no problem with fighting back,I have said the truth and I have pictures and videos to back my story. I will not hesitate to use them to vindicate myself. That I have not shared these strong evidence2 date is borne out of respect that this man remains the father of my son.In the event that he will resort to lies in a bid to save face & further tarnish my image becomes unwarranted insult upon severe physical & mental injury.Let me reiterate, that my sole objective is 2help people,I’m not interested in smearing anybody’s perceived image,I strongly advice that you mrX be warned”.

So the Tale went…More to come..
