Thank you very much for your response. I've gone through the thread to see your response but can't find it.
So, I have a scanned copy of my BECE certificate but the original is missing. I'd like to know the next course of action to take since I have the original copy scanned already and how you went about getting the certified true copy.
Thank you very much
Is BECE also needed? I thought it's only primary school and SSCE

Congrats my bro.
Helenaaa:
Let me break the silence with some good news

I’m happy to share that I finally received my visa, Decision was made on the 2nd January and i finally received my passport today January 8th.
My interview date was October 22nd, and after waiting patiently until now, it has finally come through.

This journey definitely had its ups and downs. Some people here already know about the back-and-forth and the challenges I faced along the way, but I’m truly grateful that it all worked out in the end. I want to sincerely thank everyone who supported, encouraged, and shared useful information during this process.

To everyone still waiting or preparing for their own visa, I wish you the very best of luck. Stay strong, your turn will come too.

Now, on to the next phase 🇩🇪✈️
If anyone has information on the next steps after landing in Germany such as registration and other important requirements please kindly share a step-by-step guide. I would really appreciate your help.

Thank you all once again, and wishing everyone success on their journey.

Does WES evaluate degrees from Open universities in Nigeria positively? Do they recognize them?

Who know schools that offer a fast masters program preferably online.

1. You must use a German resident as a reference person. Nigerian residents cannot be your reference person, but anyone in Germany, as long as their status is legal may act as your reference.

2. You are relocating to Germany, so you do not intend to retain a permanent residence outside Germany. Only short term visa can say "yes" but in this case, the answer should be no (please feel free to double-check this information).

3. You need to have a place where you plan to be accommodated and supply the details, even if it's just a hotel or something...

4. Intended length of stay is 1 year, so give an estimated date based on how soon you think you'll leave... For instance, you can calculate a date in 2026 June to June 2027, to make one year, cos waiting period, appointment, visa collection would gulp over 6 months...
Thank you very much for your input sir

Please I have some questions to ask from my bosses here.

Is it compulsory to use reference details of person who reside in Germany when filling the details?

Also, what is the best thing to fill in the spaces that has the following questions?

Do you intend to retain your permanent residence outside the Federal Republic of Germany?

Do you have health insurance (for a longer stay) for the Federal Republic of Germany?

Intended place of stay in the Federal Republic of Germany (Street, house number, postal code, town/city)

How will you be accommodated - Single room / apartment

Intended length of stay- from (date) - to (date)

I'm confused since the date of arrival is unknown, how can one fill a correct date?

cyberbro:
As for document upload, it's very flexible and you can simply upload ur passport where you don't have a document available. You can always edit those details before submitting for preliminary review.

⚠️ But for personal details like your names, passport number, DOB, etc, some of these details may not be editable so you need to at least make sure your personal details are correct from the onset. Even if it's editable, I advice you exercise caution and make sure your data is correct.

Better safe than sorry.
I appreciate your wisdom sir. Thank you.
TravelRe: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by herlonso: 3:37pm On Oct 22, 2025
Please for someone that just wanted to join the waiting list, it has been clear that you may not have your full document until the preliminary review.

What about the information that one will fill? Like Parent information, reference information, type of accomodation, and so on. Could it be also corrected at the preliminary review stage?

Please @helenaaa @Cyberbro and all my bosses here

Helenaaa:
Hey guys 👋🏾

I went for my interview, and I just wanted to share my full experience for anyone preparing for theirs.

I arrived at the embassy by 6:30 AM, my appointment printout was stamped 6:33 and my interview was supposed to be scheduled for 7:30 AM but I went in way earlier because I arrived early. I was among the first set of people there, and I was actually the second person the interviewer called in.

A lady attended to me. At first, she seemed a bit uptight, just collecting and checking my documents quietly. But after a little while, she loosened up and became friendlier. She carefully reviewed all my documents, removed what she didn’t need, and basically did all the administrative checks before moving on to the interview questions.

Here’s how the questions went:
1. She started with my education background; when I graduated and when I went for NYSC.
2. She didn’t ask me to “walk through my career” in detail. She only asked for my current role and what my company does.
3. She asked about my family in Germany.
4. She also asked about my travel history, specifically how many times I’ve been to Germany and the purpose of my visits.
5. Then came the popular question: “Why Germany?” I explained my reasons clearly.
6. After that, she asked a very important one: “What if you don’t get a job?” this question had a lot of emphasis, so please, take note.

👉🏾 My advice: When answering this question, don’t just talk about what you’ll do alone. Make sure to end your answer by stating clearly that you will not overstay your visa if you don’t find a job. It’s very important to make that clear. it shows responsibility and respect for immigration rules. That’s my two cents.
7. Another question that stood out was: “What is your future after Germany?” In other words, after you get a job in Germany, what next? What’s your long-term plan for your career and yourself? She emphasized this one too, so it’s worth preparing for.
8. She also asked whether I speak German (Deutschkenntnisse) or if I’m learning it.

Then came the written test section.

Since my academic background isn’t same as my career, she gave me questions related to my academic background but honestly, it’s been a while since I studied that, so I wasn’t confident about the answers. I politely asked if I could take an IT-related test instead, since I currently work as a DA.

She agreed and gave me the IT test. It had 10 questions in total, 5 simple calculation-based questions (which I could handle) and 5 computer science questions that were more theoretical (like operating systems and core computer science concepts). Those ones were a bit outside my area, but I did what I could.

And that was it!

So yeah, that’s my full experience. Wish me luck 🤞🏾.

Hopefully, this helps someone who’s preparing for theirs. Most of what I experienced is similar to what others have shared, but I wanted to highlight the extra questions and the ones with emphasis, especially:
• “What if you don’t get a job?” → Be prepared and always end by saying you won’t overstay your visa.
• “What is your future after Germany?” → Think about your long-term career plans.

Add this to what you’ve already read from others. Every little detail helps.
I wish you the very best bro. Good news shall follow. Thank you

Hannania should come back o.

Regardless of anything, he has been helpful. Flops may happen even though the reason why Heleena lost his application may not be solely due to the reason he thought cos from his own write up, he wasn't entirely sure.

And to Cyberbro, when you saw that info he gave was wrong, you should have at least created a dispute like the one you dropped about the language test. This will create doubt and perhaps prompt people to research more about it before acting.

The writeup by Heleena is condemning and I understand why Hannania deleted his profile cos when you're trying to help and people now turn around and pin the blame on you when something goes wrong.

Let’s remember: this is not a paid thread, and no one is profiting from the information shared here. Everyone follows guidance at their own discretion. If something doesn’t work out, the responsibility ultimately rests with the individual, not with those offering free advice. Hannania’s contributions have helped people with more than 95% accuracy, and that deserves acknowledgment.

If anyone feels misled, it’s best to express it politely rather than writing condemning responses. The same information we discuss here is publicly available to everyone.
I’m not sure Hannania will return, but I truly hope he does. In the meantime, knowledgeable contributors like Cyberbro can continue where he left off.
And please, let’s all remember: anyone acting on advice shared here does so at their own risk.

You gave a perfect analysis to this. I love the fact that you stated it exactly how it is so people would be guided and know what to expect as opposed to those that sell dreams that don't exist because they either wants traffic on their pages or do business.

I'm also in Germany and see a lot of people stranded on an opportunity card because they can't get a job and most companies like Amazon, Tesla and co, won't allow them take up menial jobs because they feel the visa is not meant for that purpose (Even if it was stated clearly that people on opportunity card can do Menial part-time jobs)

Worse part it's just one year but I heard renewable with another block account. *DISCLAIMER* Please this is not to discourage anyone from coming but just make you guys know what to expect when you enter Germany.
Goodluck to everyone!!
You've done really well my bro.

Is it enough to use the jobs-in-demand list to have an idea of the demands of the job one intended to go and do? I think they call it bottleneck occupations or something.

It would also be nice if we have those who have entered through this route enlighten us about life there using their own experience. It will enable people learn from the different experiences shared.

Kudos to all of you helping us here.

Plague:
Hello.
I have a very particular dilemma please.
1. I have secured a job in DE that will pay €2530 per month, but for 40hrs a week. Will this affect me since the acceptable hours is 20hrs.

2. My institution is fully recognized on Anabin, but my degree a BSC is not listed, there is instead an HND of it listed. Can this suffice as my proof since a BSC is basically the best of both worlds?

3. There’s a part we’re to upload primary school report. Problem is my primary school hasn’t existed anymore for maybe 20years. I do not have the certificate.

I need genuine information please my people.
Do you secure it from Nigeria and please what's your level of German language?

Hannania:
It doesn't matter. The most important indicator is for your university to be H+, then your course needs to be recognised in Nigeria explicitly. Fortunately for you, computer science has been recognised in Nigeria. So congratulations, get your SL/BA and come join us in DE 🥂🎉
I so much like your helping spirit. Thank you for all you do.

Is it all of applicants who need the NPC certificate even if one is born before December 13, 1992?

Or let me just say what will I submit? What if I have the original one collected at birth will there's still be a need for avidavit or the NPC cert?

This "make it in Germany" webinar stated that one can apply for 6 months and in that case 6 months block funds should be calculated for it.

I don't know why their missions here in Nigeria are so stubborn on 1 year.
TravelRe: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by herlonso: 1:55pm On Jul 28, 2025
Hannania:
That person is giving you evening newspaper stories. I'm sure the person thinks SL in Germany works like proof of sponsorship for UK, US and Canada.

When your sponsor applies for SL, the ausländerbehörde(immigration office of the resident's city) requests for 6 months payslip, house contract(to make sure he/she can accommodate you), and other minor documents depending on the city. They then check the creditworthiness of the sponsor based on the minimum income and house space. As long as the sponsor meets the requirements clearly stated by the city, the sponsorship letter is issued. It's literally black and white. No grey areas.

The consulate were you will apply for your visa has no preference for BA or SL. Both serve the same purpose and legally backed by law. Avoid that person because he/she likely has other bad advises in store for you, evidenced by the fact they're clearly clueless.
Danke schön
TravelRe: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by herlonso: 11:28pm On Jul 26, 2025
Hannania:
I don't understand your question
What I meant is that someone stated that SL is not well approved like block account. He said it is not easy as been paraded that for SL to scale through, the guarantor must prove beyond reasonable doubt and it will be at the discretion of the consular.

I felt it should not be so cos those that have the requirement to sponsor people should know they're qualified to do so.
TravelRe: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by herlonso: 6:12pm On Jul 26, 2025
Hannania:
Apply for the visa while simultaneously submitting your ZAB application for comparability. The consulate seems to be getting strict, so you need to make sure you tick all boxes just incase they ask
Bro thank you for your good work here. I heard approving the request to sponsor people in Germany is quite challenging. Is that true? I thought there are certain criteria that clearly you know if you qualify or not. One person painted it like it's the discretion of the consular. How true is this?

You can open your block account and snap the page and upload. Please don't block yet until you've been called to send for preliminary review. You can block your account from 24hrs to 5 days depending on the provider
Please what if SL came through while waiting to block the account?

Please my redmi note 7 refuse to switch on. It's stuck on MIUI logo and after a while, it shows 3 options of 1. Reboot

3. I've forgotten this.

I've selected the reboot option countless time but it doesn't go pass that MIUI logo. It stays that way until the battery get drained.
Please what can I do.
