Alright sir. In the Scriptures we see that prophecy can be by the Spirit of God or by evil spirits aka fortune tellers. Saul, the first King of Israel consulted a witch to predict the future. Again a lady possessed of devils followed Paul the Apostle in Acts on one of his missionary trips till he cast out the spirit of divination from her. My point here is that knowing or predicting the future isn't as important as confirming the spirit behind that prediction. For prophets of God they prophesy by the inspiration of the Spirit not by the theories and predictions of secular men

2 Peter 1:20-21
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost

What exactly is prophecy a requirement for? Is it to see God? Or to be forgiven? Or to live a holy life? Or to bring others to Jesus? I didn't get you please

There is a place for prophecy in the Bible which I'm not disputing. All I'm saying is that prophecy is not the ultimate mark of a child of God. Moreover Biblical prophecy isn't about studying secular books, writings and theories to put one and two together. Prophecy is a gift of the Spirit that reveals details about the future of a person or place accurately. Not every child of God is a prophet I hope you know that. So tying our salvation to out ability to prophesy is erroneous teaching.

I'm not a pagan and I do believe in the Bible. I'm wary of arguements for several reasons. Quoting a Scripture in isolation doesn't establish anything. We use scriptures to interpret scriptures please. I like to focus on the most important thing. One's inability to prophesy or interpret prophecy wouldn't result in eternal death and isn't equivalent to not being born again..

sure why not ? and with regards to your question, prophesies is about telling the future. the bible is a book of prophesy. prophesy means to ' tell before it happens '. the testimony of jesus in your life is not how much cars or wealth you own. that is mans corruption of what the testimony of jesus in your life is. the testimony that Jesus is in your life is measured by your ability to tell the future. if you cant see and tell the future then jesus may not be in your life

revelation 19 vs 10 the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

so if you dont have the ability to see the future, then you MAY have a problem

I suppose that should be another day's talk. I'm not of the opinion that prophecing is the proof of belonging to Jesus. That aside, what's that symbol on your dp?
