America’s Proposed Invasion of Nigeria and the Failure of Leadership Under Governor Peter Mbah

There is no doubt that Nigerians have suffered greatly from years of leadership failure.

Those who should protect and uplift the people have instead inflicted deeper wounds through bad governance, corruption, and impunity.

Today, reports suggest that the government of the United States, under President Donald Trump, is considering an invasion of Nigeria with the stated aim of eliminating terrorists and restoring peace.

Whether one agrees with this or not, the truth remains that both Christians and Muslims, the North and the South, have all suffered from the activities of non-state actors — bandits, militants, and other violent groups.
Our leaders have failed the people.

There is zero accountability and no transparency in governance. Many of them act as though they are above the law, ignoring the suffering of ordinary Nigerians.

In Enugu State, when Peter Mbah became Governor, many of us hoped for a government that would be for the people and by the people. Sadly, that hope has turned into disappointment.

His administration has become one of the most reckless and oppressive in the history of the state — marked by unjust demolitions, disregard for citizens’ rights, and actions that destroy livelihoods instead of creating them.

One personal example stands out painfully. My late father’s agricultural company in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area was burned down and later demolished under Governor Peter Mbah’s administration.

This property, worth over ₦1 billion, included four large warehouses for storing rice from local farmers, residential and office buildings, and over 500 twenty-five litre containers of palm oil, along with yam and rice produce. All were lost to fire and demolition — with no explanation, no compensation, and no accountability.
This company, established between the 1980s and 1990s, had operated for decades, supporting food security and providing employment for local people.

Its destruction is not just a personal loss but a blow to the agricultural growth and economic stability of Enugu State.

Leadership that destroys what citizens build is leadership without vision. Such governance erodes public confidence and widens the gap between the people and their government.
And also fuel insecurity
I call on the Enugu State Government to review the damage it has caused, take responsibility, and rebuild what was destroyed. Justice, transparency, and fairness must prevail if we truly hope to rebuild trust and move our state forward.

Enugu can and should be better — but it begins with accountability.

Insecurity: Association of Nigerians in Diaspora, U.S.A Chapter (ANDUSA) Lauds Zamfara Governor Over giant Strides in Security

.....insists Matawalle's brilliant diplomatic approach best way to tackle the incessant insecurity in the country

The Association of Nigerians in Diaspora, U.S.A chapter has commended the Governor of Zamfara state, His Excellency (Dr) Mohammed Bello Matawalle MON over what the group described as "giant strides" in the face of security challenges.

The group in a statement made available to Newsmen by its President, Mr Ochigbo Matthew Sunday, appraised the security challenges in the country and lamented the deteriorating security situation particularly in the northern axis of the country.

The concerned Nigerians in Diaspora also noted that Governor Mohammed Bello Matawalle has initiated the best approach which involves diplomacy in the pursuit of a secure Zamfara. ANDUSA recalled that Zamfara government through its very effective security strategy, has successfully negotiated the release of many kidnapped citizens including the recently abducted Jengebe school girls.

The group which argued that security of lives and properties must be the driving force of any security strategy, stressed that Matawalle's brilliant approach has helped to save hundreds of lives and therefore encouraged other state governors to take a cue from the Zamfara state government's approach in tackling insecurity in their respective states.

The group also chided the National Security Adviser (NSA), Babagana Monguno rtd over what it described as a meddlesome interference of the NSA in the affairs of the Zamfara state government. The group wondered why the NSA who is yet to justify his appointment by working with the nation's security outfits to put an end to the deteriorating security situation in the country would be found making unguarded utterances unbefitting of the sensitive position he occupies. ANDUSA consequently advised the NSA to channel his energy towards working harmoniously with the security apparatchiks to bring the incessant banditry and other criminal attacks in the country to a halt.

Part of the statement reads, "Association of Nigerians in Diaspora, U.S.A chapter (ANDUSA) in her emergency virtual meeting on the 4th of April 2021 where it appraised the security challenges in the country arrived at the following conclusion (s)

1. That the security situation in the country has continued to deteriorate without any remedy in sight.

2. The group therefore urges for a change of approach in the war against insecurity in the country to achieve better results.

3. ANDUSA wishes to commend His Excellency, Dr Bello Matawalle MON for his potent approach which has resulted in the release of hundreds of kidnapped victims in both Zamfara and other states of the federation.

4. In view of the success of Zamfara state government's approach in securing lives and properties, the group wishes to urge other state governors to quickly adopt the Zamfara state government's approach in pursuit of their primary purpose which is security of lives of properties as enshrined in section 17(2b) of the 1999 constitution as amended.

5. Finally, the group advised the NSA to further desist from making unguarded utterances that are unbefitting of the sensitive position he occupies but to rather channel his energy towards working harmoniously with the security apparatchiks to bring the incessant attacks undermining the sovereignty and peace of the nation to an end".

Border Closure Should Last For More Than 2 Years ― Hon Atigwe

• Says South East is ready for Presidency in 2023

By Kehinde Akintola.

A Member representing Igbo-Eze North/Udenu Federal Constituency of Enugu State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Simon Chukwuemeka Atigwe, on Sunday, called on Federal Government to sustain the closure of land borders for more than two years, to enable Nigerians to reap the abounding benefits.

Speaking with Parliamentary Correspondents in Abuja, Hon. Atigwe argued that the closure was the best policy so far put in place by President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to him, “apart from helping to checkmate the influx of arms and criminal elements causing insecurity in the country, the borders closure would compel Nigerians to resort to agriculture because those in farming business would have value for their labour.

“Personally, I think that is the best decision so far taken by the President as far as the economy of Nigeria is concerned because you don’t just allow your country to be flooded with goods from other countries, making your own citizens very lazy; making them consumers only and not producers.

“I think it doesn’t help anybody saying that borders should be opened to importers anyhow while smuggling goes on uncontrolled. Apart from making us lazy, we are still losing income; we are losing revenue because all these people smuggling goods through road borders are not paying anything.

“But if things should be coming in through the ports like the airports and the seaports, then there will be scrutiny of all the things coming in.

“Apart from the revenue, you also safeguard your people because these smugglers bring in arms and ammunition and all sorts of dangerous weapons that all these bandits are using; and you can’t track it because they come in through all corners of the borders. So, I support the border closures 100 per cent.

“China is doing well today

PoliticsAkpabio Can Contest Rerun Without Resigning — Constitutional Lawyer Writes by Hibiscus50(op):
Akpabio can contest rerun without resigning — constitutional lawyer writes

By J.M Agu Esq. (CIArb)

Since the news of the judgment of the Court of Appeal sitting in Calabar filtered our political space, ordering the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately withdraw the Certificate of Return issued to His Excellency, Senator Chris Ekpenyong of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and conduct a rerun election in Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State within 90 days, there have been a lot of reactions against and/or for the judgment. In fact, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State has welcomed the judgment as a good development and urged the Honourable Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator God’swill Akpabio (the immediate past Governor of the state) to resign his appointment and avail himself for the election because according to him, it is an opportunity to widen the gap of the margin of victory for the PDP in the 23rd February, 2019 elections. In his words, “we welcome the judgment of the Court of Appeal which has proven that widespread irregularities occurred in Essien Udim Local Government Area and we are preparing for the election; we are expecting Senator Akpabio's resignation (as Minister of Niger Delta Affairs) so that he can come for the election.” Ini Emembong, the PDP spokesperson in Akwa Ibom state later issued a statement, saying the rerun would afford the party a chance to widen its victory margin against Mr Akpabio and the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Inasmuch as I do not intend to comment on the judgement of the court of appeal which I am not yet privy to the full judgement, I wish to commend the courage, dexterity, and industry which Their Lordships put in delivering the landmark judgement. However, this judgment has opened up another opportunity to enrich both our Constitutional democracy and Election jurisprudence.

Interestingly, the Appellate Court in its wisdom ordered a rerun election in Essien Udim LGA, where Senator Akpabio hails from. The court ruled that the rerun should hold within 90 days of the judgment. The constitutional question now is:
Whether Senator Akpabio is required to resign his position as the minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria before embarking on this rerun election; or
Whether he is eligible to stand for the election even as a minister.

A cursory look at the relevant laws will suffice to address the issues. The two major laws governing our electoral processes namely the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended), (hereafter “the Constitution) and the Electoral Act, 2010 (the Act) are germane. A combined reading of Section 66(1)(f) of the Constitution and Section 87(1)(2)&(4)(c)(i)(ii) of the Act would reveal that the law never envisages a situation like this, and therefore, never expects Sen. Akpabio to resign his current appointment before going into the rerun election.

For the sake of clarity, the two provisions will be reproduced verbatim. Section 66(1)(f) provides thus:
“No person SHALL be qualified for election to the Senate or House of Representatives if-
(f) he is a person employed in the public service of the Federation or of any State and has not RESIGNED, withdrawn or retired from such employment THIRTY DAYS before the date of election.” (emphasis supplied). Section 87(1)(2)(4)(c)(i)(ii) state as follows:
“A political party seeking to nominate candidates for elections under this Act SHALL hold primaries for aspirants to all elective positions. (2) The procedure for the nomination of candidates by political party for various elective positions SHALL be by direct or indirect primaries. (4) A political party that adopts the system of indirect primaries for the choice of its candidates SHALL adopt the procedure outlined below:
(c) in the case of nomination to the position of a candidate to Senate, House of Representatives and House of Assembly, a political party SHALL, where it intends to sponsor candidates:
(i) hold a special Congress in the Senatorial District, Federal Constituency and the State Assembly Constituency respectively, with delegates voting for each of the aspirants in designated centre on specified dates; and (ii) the aspirant with the highest number of votes at the end of voting SHALL be declared the winner of the primaries of the party and the aspirant’s name SHALL be forwarded to the Commission as the candidate of the party.”(emphasis mine).
It can be gleaned from the above provisions that the law envisages the resignation of a candidate who is contesting a new election and not as in the present case. Senator Akpabio, having complied with the provisions of all the relevant laws governing our electoral process need not resign his current appointment before going into the rerun election as ordered by the court. The legal maxim of expressio unius personae vel, est exclusio alterius which simply means that the express mention of a person or thing is the express exclusion of another as was held by the Supreme Court in the case of Ehuwa v. OSIEC (2006)10 NWRL (pt.1012) 544, can be invoked in this discourse. In that case, Ogbuagu JSC held thus: “it is now firmly established that in the construction of a statutory provision, where a statute mentions specific things or persons, the intention is that those not mentioned are to be excluded...”

Therefore, having mentioned those who ought to have resign their appointment before contesting election under section 66(1)(f) of the Constitution, the constitution did not go further to say what happens in case of rerun election. It is our firm position that the rerun election is merely a corollary of the original process of 23rd February, 2019 elections which Akpabio was eligible to contest. The law is that the whole processes leading to the 23rd February elections are still valid except the completion of the election in Essien Udim Local Government Area.

In conclusion, it is our strong view that Senator God’will Akpabio is eligible to stand for the election without resigning his position as a minister before contesting the rerun election. He has two options as it stands now. He can decide to contest the rerun election if he wins he has the option of going back to the Senate where he came from, or he can relinquish it for his juicy post as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Therefore, we urge Senator Akpabio’s legal team to urgently approach the court for legal interpretation of the Constitution and the Electoral Act before the conduct of the rerun election as ordered by the Court of Appeal. In this sense our electoral process will be richly enhanced.

The London Metropolitan Police has reinstated Big Brother Naija housemate Khafi Kareem, who defied her superiors to feature on the reality show.

The Mirror newspaper reported that Khafi, who clocks 30 today said she has been asked to return to work. She returned to the UK two weeks ago and met with her superiors to discuss her conduct.

There were reports she had been a subject of probe by Scotland Yard.

The Mirror of London quoted Khafi as saying she is returning to her beat.

“Work has been really great, we’ve been speaking and communicating, they asked me when I’d be coming back to work,” she said.

“I’m not sure when I’m going to go back yet – I want to get back as soon as possible, I’m passionate about keeping London safer.”

Kareem, 29, had caused outrage among senior officers by appearing on BBN without permission.

The Met confirmed that Kareem had asked for permission to appear on the show but was denied and that she had chosen to accept a place in the house “without authority”.

Top brass at the force were to face further embarrassment when the Londoner was shown appearing to have sex on screen with fellow contestant, Ekpata Gedoni, 31.

Defending her decision to accept the place on the show without a final answer from the Met, Kareem said she tried to get an answer out of her bosses, but they didn’t get back to her.

She said: “I started to ask what the procedure is, what would I do, I thought I might actually get into the show.

“I wanted to do everything by the book even though I didn’t know if I was in the show or not.

“I spoke to as many people as I was told to. I was told to go to my commander; I explained the situation, I told him I wanted time off – three months off of work and the reason was because I might get on Big Brother.”

Addressing her controversial romp under the sheets with Gedoni, Kareem denies they slept together, but confirmed the two are still in a relationship, adding: “We are still together now – I met someone in there and fell in love with him.

“I hope we will be together for a very long time.”

Kareem said she attended an audition for the show in Nigeria in February in order to film content for her YouTube blog, A Cup of Khafi, which has more than 19k subscribers.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has said that it has implemented plans to get a 20-year economic development strategy running, which will replace the Vision 2020 elapsing next year.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed, while speaking at the BusinessDay Investment and Capital Markets conference held in Abuja on Thursday.

She said there will also be a five-year plan to succeed the Economic and Recovery Growth Plan (ERGP) which will also expire in 2020.

“Having recognized that Nigeria’s past failure to plan and execute sustainable diversified and inclusive growth and development which led to a recession, precipitated by external shocks like the crude oil price crash, the government in its plan is looking at developing a new long-term plan,” she said.

The ERGP that we are currently implementing expires next year, 2020, also the vision 2020 expires in 2020.

“So, in this [fourth] quarter of 2019, we will kick start a process of a new long term development plan which could be 20 years or 30 years.

The minister noted the next step would be to transition the country’s 2017-2020 economic recovery and growth plan to a successive long-term vision 2040 plan.

“To this end, I am currently working with the minister of state, budget and national planning to prepare a medium-term economic growth acceleration plan for 2021-2024 as a successor to the ERGP,” she said

Mrs Ahmed further added that the government would still continue to execute the ERGP in order to ensure that there is a developed investment structure to drive the non-oil revenue sector to move away from the oil economy.

She also said the process of raising funding using naira-denominated bonds called Jollof bonds abroad to fund infrastructure projects will begin in 2020.

Okay the list is out.

Justice Mary Odili is conspicuously missing.

I dont want to imagine what an Onnoghen list would have looked like.

Buhari dodged a poisoned arrow.

You would expect Fani Kayode to say one or two things later.

Something about the death of the independence of the judiciary and the Amalekites

Timi Frank may call on the UN to dissolve the supreme court.

Justice Ngwuta is not there.

He is now innocent. But perhaps his sort of innocence disqualified him.

It’s also possible he checked his heart and found too much bias and opted out.

Good Judges and Justices do that.

The list is out.

We may get one or two tweets from Dubai.

In China , no one can question the integrity of such a panel and return to any platform for public speaking.

Ask Peter Obi.

I had said it would take walking on water and turning water to wine at the shore for any Supreme court panel to upturn the relevant findings of the court of Appeal.

The list is out. Odili and Ngwuta are out.

They will now have to raise the dead to win. Honestly facts dont lie.

An Onnoghen list would have had Onnoghen, Vivour, Odili, Ngwuta…..on a panel of seven.

That would have been quite interesting. Olorun!

Who knows if Atiku is still coming.

Since the appeal court judgment he has been chewing gworo and learning butterfly strokes in Dubai.

PoliticsThe Need For The Enugu State Government To Establish State Consumer Protection C by Hibiscus50(op): 5:43pm On Oct 11, 2019
Rt. Hon. Paul Nnajiofor,
Member Representing Nkanu East,
House Committee Chairman on
Rural Development and CSDP

Date: 2nd October, 2019.
The Hon. Speaker,
Enugu State House of Assembly,
Enugu.

Sir,

MOTION ON NOTICE
MOTION NO. HM/03/2019
THE NEED FOR THE ENUGU STATE GOVERNMENT TO ESTABLISH STATE CONSUMER PROTECTION COMMITTEE
(Rt. Hon. Paul Nnajiofor)

“That this Hon. House urge the Enugu State Government to establish State Consumer Protection Committee as well as encourage residents of Enugu State to form Voluntary Consumer Protection Associations for the purpose of protecting the rights of Consumers of goods and services in the State.

Mr. Speaker, and fellow Honourable Colleagues, the absence of State Consumer protection Committee as provided in the Federal Competitive and Consumer Protection Commission Act 2019 part 11 (4) (1) and section 2 (h) is a serious factor hindering the Protection of Consumers of goods and services against the violation of their rights. It is sad indeed that the public outcry against the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company in the entire region is falling on deaf ears. We will be failing on our sacred duties if we keep mute on this ugly development while the people we have their mandate to represent are unjustly treated, oppressed and marginalized to an unimaginable level and it is our onerous duty as elected representatives of our various constituencies to bring at all times issues that affect our people to the knowledge of Government authorities.
During the 2019 Enugu State Electricity Consumers Engagement Forum held recently, at White Leaf Hotel, New Haven, Enugu, which attracted participants from Enugu State House of Assembly, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, students from Tertiary Institutions etc, a lot of issues where discovered and discussed on various ways our people are being exploited by the EEDC through their unwholesome activities such as perennial power outages, making consumers to pay more for electricity billings which do not reflect actual consumption, indiscriminate disconnections, without notice even when consumers are not owing, and payment of illegal reconnection fees to EEDC by Electricity consumers.

It is a thing of joy that the meeting enlightened the participants on consumer rights and how to channel their complaints because ignorance of their rights and handling mechanism have been an impediment to address consumer complaints in the State.

In the course of the engagement forum, the electricity consumer in Enugu State were urged to study the provisions of Electricity Power Sector reform Act 2005 to enable them have information that will enable them prevent violation of their rights as consumers by EEDC.

It was also discovered that EEDC has violated provisions of Electric Power Sector Reform Act made to protect consumers and there is lack of enforcement of the provisions by Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Consumer in the State, which gives the EEDC opportunity to exploit and oppress consumers in Enugu State which also has the dangerous tendency of causing breach of peace in the State.

Participants were surprised to notice that there is absence of Enugu State Consumer Protection Committee (ESCPC) as provided in Consumer Protection Commission Act 2019, part II (4)(1) and section 2(h) Sub Section 1, (2) of the same Act.

There is no data showing the number of metered and unmetered electricity consumers in the State in spite of the fact that Enugu State and Local Government Councils are among the owners of 40% share of the EEDC. The Establishment of State Consumer Protection Committee in Enugu State will provide ample and legal opportunities for the protection of the right of voluntary consumer Protection and every groups in synergy with FCCPC.

Prayers

That this Hon. House urges Enugu State Government to establish Enugu State Consumer Protection Committee in line with part 11(4)(1) and section 2 (h) of the Competitive and Consumer Protection Commission Act, 2019 as well as encourage residents of Enugu State to form Voluntary Consumer Protection Associations in line with Section 2(h) of the Consumer Protection Act for the purpose of protecting the rights of Consumers of electricity and other goods and services in the State in line with consumer protection and license performance Standards contained in section 80, 81, and 82 of Electric Power Sector reform Act, 2005.

That this Hon. House directs the EEDC to stop forthwith illegal collections which include: reconnection fees and estimated billing without following estimated billing methodology as approved by Electric Power Sector Reform Act 2005.

That this Hon. House urges the Enugu State Government to key into “The Operational Light up Rural Nigeria (OLRN)” initiative, a sustainable alternative energy rural electrification programme, based primarily on solar technology to provide affordable and reliable access to electricity of up to 1 megawatt (MW) per rural community with no connectivity to the national grid in Nigeria.

4. That this Honourable House do urge the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission NERC to live up to expectation without compromise in the course of discharging their duties to Nigerians.

Be it moved, and it is hereby moved.

@ StateReporter News

The Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa has said that he has no apologies for appointing one of his daughters as an aide.

Okowa, who spoke at a media quarterly briefing in Asaba, the State capital on Tuesday, said his daughter was eminently qualified for the position.

He said the PDP will continue to work towards achieving a situation that keeps the people United, realizing that working together makes the party stronger.

According to him, “It is not true that I have two of my daughters appointed. I have only one appointed and she is rightfully qualified.

“I do not have any daughter in social media. The one appointed for girl child education is rightfully qualified.

“I do not have any apologies for that because I know the quality of the daughter that I have.”

Okowa also said the choice of who becomes the next governor of Delta State in 2023 will be determined by God.

“I am not God. I don’t make a Governor. Nobody makes a governor. It is only God that can make one.

“The important thing is we want to ensure there are unity and equity and we will continue to work towards achieving a situation that keeps us United as Deltans realizing that working together makes us stronger as a people,” he said

PoliticsFOCUS ON ENUGU STATE GOVERNANCE: CONCERNED PARTY LEADERS WRITE TO UGWUANYI by Hibiscus50(op): 9:40am On Sep 23, 2019
FOCUS ON ENUGU STATE GOVERNANCE Concerned Party Leaders, urge Gov ugwuanyi

FOCUS ON ENUGU STATE GOVERNANCE: Entrepreneurship Ecosystem: Towards Making Enugu State The Economic Hub of the East & Technopreneur of West Africa!

Contemporary socio-political and economic conditions engendered by poor governance and the contradictions of decadent capitalism have led the youth into unemployment, underemployment, idleness, and unproductive and criminal activities for survival” ,.. Adelaja Odutola Odukoya, in his writing titled ‘Nigeria: Multiple Modes of livelihood and survival strategies of the Nigeria Youth.’

In 1990s, two wonderful men, Christopher Freeman and Bengt-Åke Lundvall engaged in extensive research. While Freeman’s research drew heavily on political economy of Georg Friedrich List and his historical account of the rise of Japan as an economic superpower, Lundvall’s work explored the important of social interactions between suppliers and customers and their role in encouraging innovation in Denmark. It was the study of these two genius that lead to what we know today as National Innovation Systems beginning in 1980s.

In 2010, Professor Daniel Isenberg from Babson College published an article in the Harvard Business Review that helped to boost the awareness of the concept. Isenberg outlined several “prescriptions” for the creation of an entrepreneurial ecosystem. The first prescription was to stop emulating Silicon Valley.

If any single person is responsible for Silicon Valley, it is the electrical engineer and administrator Frederick E. Terman. While a graduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Terman saw how the faculty at Cambridge actively pursued research as well as contact with industry through consulting and the placement of students in corporations.

Despite its success the Valley was formed by a unique set of circumstances and any attempt to replicate it in other places were unlikely to succeed. The culture of men here in Enugu is quiet different from the men in Silicon Valley, California. Our setting and theirs are not also the same, so ours be developed according to our own system and culture.

The first led to a second prescription, which was to build the ecosystem on local conditions. Grow existing industries and build on their foundations, skills and capabilities rather than attempting to launch high-tech industries from scratch. Let’s first open the door for the growth of massive start-up in the state, on their own, they will launch high-tech industries and is going to be a boom for the state because there are tens of thousands of untapped talents here in the Enugu state which are just wasting.

The third prescription was the importance of engaging the private sector from the start. Here the role of government is indirect and one of a facilitator not a manager. In trying to shape the growth and innovations of such ecosystems, attention should be given to the support of existing firms and innovations in the state with high growth potential that can help to generate a “big win” early on. This is the opportunity for local success stories to become role models for others. Enugu state is such a unique state with unique people and places. Putting right infrastructures at the right place will do justice to this.

Our Recommendations.

1. On the 22nd february, 2016, the state government revealed plans to commercialise 17 moribund industries in the state which include:

Niger Steel Company, Adarice Company, United Palm Produce, Sunrise Flour Mill, Hotel Presidential, Premier Cashew industries,Aluminum Factory, Enugu Vegetable Oil Limited and others. But it is a regrettable that after more than 3 years that no one is talking about it again. We advise that the government should quickly swim into action and see to the reality of this resolve. His Excellency Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is a man of action. We suggest sir, you look into the activities of the handlers of this wonderful initiative so at to ease what ever that may be the hurdle towards realising this goal.

2. Building a world class Tech-Hub with free Wi-Fi and steady light [preferably renewal energy like solar] in the three senatorial zones in the state and one in the state capital, will be a good place to start. These project won’t scratch the pulse of the state government but it will transform the state into start-up destination point for tech gurus, where the finest brain in Nigeria tech world will migrate to. Admision into this hubs should be devoid of ethnic sentiment or state of origin with mentorship programs and strict supervision of their activities. A flat rate of affordable fee which will be in form of registration, will help keep the hub running with less subvention from the state.

When we say tech-hub, we mean putting up world class hub, that provide opportunities for startups to meet potential investors and funders while providing platform for business networking. According to Joe Svetlik, this is done by encouraging experimentation, not demonising failure, and helping firms and individuals network with other like-minded individuals and enterprises. It will provide individuals or firm the opportunity to rent a space within the hub to unleash their genius. Those talented guys at Railway line, Main Market and Otigba junction in New Heaven will make a good start.

3. Technology/Craft Village: Those guys at Camp here in Enugu can power the state economically if provided with the right atmosphere. It will shock you to know the technological & craft activities going on in that Camp-Enugu and untapped potentials begging for assistance. Harnessing and developing this abundant human and natural resources for a technology-driven Enugu state is possible. It has become necessary to tap this Creative ingenuity of budding the people of Enugu talented technicians, crafts-men, trades-men and the typical Nigerian engineers, from all nooks and crannies of the nation, to train and

harness their potentials for the

technological advancement of the nation. As a result, we suggests a well established, and managed all-in machine production and fabrication technology villages in various parts of the state.

4. A look at various local government areas in the state will reveal to you many untapped commercial agricultural potentials. We appeal that, is time to begin to think on that direction. Hundreds of thousands of jobs can be created if tapped. Agriculture accounted for major income to so many nations. Enugu state won’t be exceptional. We have the land, so we believe that, with right policy and implementation, it will be done. And history will have your name redefined in such a special way. Please make it difficult for anyone to fit in into the shoe which you will be leaving behind.

As responsible Party Leaders, we deem it necessary and timely to offer our advise and support to the government in any way we can so that the administration can flow with less hitches to deliver democratic dividends to the people of the state. We promise to continue to support the administration unreservedly in all areas especially in harnessing the potentials of these great fellows. We have written to so many development partners and agreed with so some investors both at local and international scene on how to industrialize this state if given the right hand of fellowship and good environment.

We are also concerned about the security challenges in the state. We thank and appreciate the governor for the effort already in place to restore normalcy to the state and we are happy that is yielding good result. We have sensitized our teaming members and supporters across the state to report any suspicious movement across the state as security is everybody’s business. Ride on Sir, your work so far is good and encouraging. We want to use this medium to tell the good people of Enugu state to support this administration.
