WhatsApp is at this hour, one of the most used messengers, having around half a billion active users from all over the world, which installed this application to keep in touch with their friends and families. So, whether you’re living in Europe, Asia or America, you’re probably addicted to this application and you are using it daily to keep in touch with your contacts. Here are a few tips and tricks that could improve your experience with this application. Hide the Last Seen status and block contacts When you install WhatsApp on an Android or iOS device, by default, the application shows a Last seen timestamp which will let the others know when was the last time you accessed the app, and you will want to hide from stalkers, therefore to turn off this feature. If you’re using an iOS device, go to Settings->Chat Settings->Advanced and turn off the Last Seen Timestamp. But, things are more complicated with an Android device, because you’ll need a third party application such as Hide WhatsApp Status, which disables the WiFi and data connection when opening the application and it allows you to check what’s new on WhatsApp, then, after you close the app, Hide WhatsApp Status reactivates your Wifi/data connection and you’ll send messages without letting the others know when you were last seen. To block a contact that bothers you, all you have to do is to tap on the + button and you’ll get the list of your contacts. Select the person you no longer want to have in your list and tap the Blocked contacts button. Must Have Android Apps Disabling auto-download for Media If you’re using an Android device, go to Settings->Chat Settings-> Media auto-download and tap and uncheck each of these three options: When using mobile data, When connected on WiFi and When roaming. For iPhones, this option can be turned off by unchecking the Save Incoming Media from Chat Settings. MUST READ: How to deactivate windows 10 Automatic Updates Turning off notification sounds If you don’t like the sounds of the notifications you are getting on WhatsApp, turn them off by going to Settings->Notifications Changing your number If you want to change your number, but to keep your device, it’s very easy to import your info, setting and groups to the new number, by going to Settings->Account->Change number, confirm your old number, then enter the new one and that’s it.. How to Choose A Good Gaming Laptop Backing up and restoring messages To back up messages and media on Android smartphones, you can do this by storing them to the local storage from Chat Settings, or you can attach the conversations and send them to your email. Apple has the iCloud that will allow the iPhone users to back up their conversations. There’s another method to store messages, Auto Backup, but when you will reinstall the application, you’ll get back only your conversations from the previous backup, not the videos as well. To restore messages on an Android device after reinstalling the application, if you have backed up conversations or copies of them on the SD card, the app will ask you if you want to restore them. Tap on Restore and you will have all your messages back. On iPhones, everything can be restored as long as the conversations are backed up in the iCloud. Locking down WhatsApp If you’re afraid that your friends will read your messages, you can lock down WhatsApp and your account will be secure from curious eyes. The best way to protect your privacy is to install applications such as WhatsApp Lock (Android) or Lock for WhatsApp (BlackBerry), while if you have a jailbroken iOS, you can use the iAppLock tweak. Sending bigger files on Android To send files that are bigger than 15MB, the easiest way to do this is by using the CloudSend application which will upload your files and it will give you a link which you’ll copy and sent to your friends. To download the files, they must click on the link. Creating shortcuts for special Contacts On Android, you must long press on the contact/group and you will see a pop up. Just tap on Add conversation shortcut and you will have access to your favorite contacts directly on your homescreen. To add shortcuts of your favorite contacts on iOS, you’ll need a third-party application, and we recommend you 1TapWA. Top 5 Latest Motorola Mobile Models You Should Checkout Installing WhatsApp on a tablet running on Android Get the latest WhatsApp .apk version and in the same time, download and install SRT AppGuard. First, run AppGuard then from the Dashboard, select WhatsApp and tap on Monitor. After AppGuard sts up the monitoring, go down and disable read phone status and identity which you’ll find under Phone calls. Activate WhatsApp after receiving the three-digit verification code on your using your landline phone. |
Currently, no email service compares to Gmail in performance and features. Google’s email service features more users than options from other tech companies. Most estimates peg the user base of Gmail at 550 million users worldwide. Therefore, the average individual can benefit from owning a Gmail account. Some people might not have an email address, and others might believe their service is superior somehow. Each person should consider opening an account here or switching over from another service, though. Reason #1: Everyone needs an email account. In the digital age, virtually everyone needs an email account. It’s hard to accomplish anything these days without email. Employers and schools often communicate by sending electronic messages. Likewise, all websites are going to ask for an email address to associate with a given user. The average person simply can’t get by without opening an account. If a person doesn’t already own an account, then they need to sign up for Gmail immediately. Otherwise, they’re sitting back in the past before computers rose to prominence. Reason #2: Gmail features powerful spam message filtering. Most email services implement various spam filters in order to eliminate such emails. Unfortunately, services like Outlook and Yahoo! Mail often fail to filter every message. Gmail has one of the most powerful filters available today. Its users can expect to never see spam messages. In most cases, they’re sent to the trash immediately or occasionally stored in the spam folder. Users can spend more time sifting through legitimate emails instead of trying to get rid of spam messages here, though. Reason #3: Gmail has a simple, clean user interface. When users log into Gmail, they’re presented with a simple user interface. This UI ensures that nothing seems cluttered, and emails aren’t difficult to find. Plus, users can create various folders and filter their emails into said folders. Gmail itself offers three main tabs that are automatically filtered. Primary, Social, and Promotional emails are separated so that users only see the most important things first. From there, they can navigate over the less important emails, thanks to this intuitive and clean UI. Reason #4: Gmail is optimized for security and performance. Gmail users will rarely experience downtime where they’re unable to access their accounts. Likewise, the service is more secure than other email clients, so users don’t have to worry about their personal information. Google created its service with performance and security in mind, so improvements are constantly made in both areas. This means that users are always working in a secure environment that doesn’t bog down under heavy use. Undoubtedly, other email services can’t compete against Google here. Start Using or Switch Over To Gmail Today Getting started with Gmail is simple and requires less than five minutes. At that point, users can get started with their new email account immediately. Gmail is secure, fast, and simple so that all users can figure out what they’re doing in no time at all. These are just a few reasons a person should have their own Gmail account. Without a doubt, the service is worth using as one’s main email client because it’s versatile and feature-rich. |
