The level of comments up there really showed how people lack knowledge of Capital market.
Crazy Clown could have done better to tell us the Company share his father bought.
The only shares doing well out there are no longer being quoted on the NSE because their owners don't want to sell .

Multichoice was the first Nigerian traded stock to break #100 barrier.

I am sure they are trading close to $15 per share if they were suddenly dumped on the NSE.

Other than Multichoice , the other shares that performed well are oil companies and Palm oil plantations.

But away from the man identity, could this really happen in today's age when the white folks has the baton in race supremacy. Thesame way we've seen our uniformed policemen guides and cover foreign investors with a shield of umbrella.

it’s 100% unrealistic in a harsh economy under Tinubu government. Very impossible
As long as there is a market , there is an opportunity.

Local industries will thrive because no one will buy FX at #1300 to import toothpick and other frivolous items and stand to make a profit.

In the 70s and early 80s we were producing most of what we consumed .

There were foreign companies operating factories in Nigeria .

JVC, Philips , Kenwood were all producing or assembling their products in Nigeria.

They shut down because of the importers.

when major companies are living Nigeria in droves since the last 8 years of Buhari government of APC, you should sit yourself down and think deeply on Nigeria economy and the evil
Government economy policies against Nigeria businesses and its people. Keep on deceiving yourself here. If you are investing your savings in this harsh economy under Tinubu government, you putting yourself at risk seriously 😒
This the time to know genuine and innovative businessmen.

Where you see gloom , others see a boom.

The import based economic model is out the door as it can never be profitable under the FX floating rules.

Now is time for local industrialists to regain the market share and dominance .
.
The people not able to recover from this current climate are those who only think imports.

We are going to recover our industrial base and promote jobs and local productivity as against the lazy man import based economy that only siphons wealth out of the economy.

It depends on the shares of the company you bought. Most people before 2009 bought overvalued banking shares. A lot of the banks are dead or have her acquired by other banks at ridiculous prices.

First bank is one of the biggest and most capitalized banks in Nigeria till today. They did a public offer in 2007 at about N30 per share. As at the close of trading on Friday, First bank share was sold at around N16. If first bank has lost over half of her share price since 2007, imagine how the portfolio of someone that invested in BankPHB, Diamond bank, First Atlantic, Skye bank, Oceanic etc would be right now.
I remember this very first bank scam.

Their shares were trading at around #50 then they came out with an offer of #25 for a humongous share volume

Friends , colleagues and family members were rushing to buy these shares that were being sold off the counter at any first bank outlet.

I did my own research and found out that there was a caveat that said you can not trade in those shares until after 6months of purchasing it .

It so happened that first bank (like all share listed ventures) were into insider trading to prop up their share values before rolling out another offer that was priced at half the ongoing value at the NSE.

I asked myself, why will they be issuing more shares at half the price ? It so happens that this was what first bank used in doing their recapitalisation with the CBN.

After the 6months period, First bank shares crashed to below #20 and ever since then has never recovered it's #50 value.

They are all scammers in suits and the NSE must be burnt down to the ground and every stockbroker with it

They stole so much from civil servants that Obasanjo forced into retirement in 2007. Obasanjo will conduct the greatest civil service retrenchment excersice and pay off civil servants affected but only after they committed to investing their retirement benefits into several govt approved stock brokers who the FG arranged to have counselling course to affected civil servants. All that retirement benefits dissaperared into thin air .

Transcorp was the biggest thief that got most of the civil servants retirement benefits .

Where is Transcorp today ?

Hmm 🤔. Na huge inflation in the economy caused it

1 million naira stock my dad bought for us in 2002 is now valued at N11K” – Craze Crown cries out

He said that in 2002, their father, concerned about their future, decided to buy shares with the expectation that they would appreciate and convert into a large sum of money.

“You have failed as a mother if your son prioritizes you over his wife” -Skit maker Craze Clown

Craze Crown, a popular comedian, regrets the discovery that the one million naira stock his father purchased for them 11 years ago is now worth only N12,000.

The legendary comedian made the announcement on his Instagram page while lamenting the country’s current state.

He said that in 2002, their father, concerned about their future, decided to buy shares with the expectation that they would appreciate and convert into a large sum of money.

Unfortunately, this was not the case, as the currency had devalued to 11,561.46.

He was furious at how worthless it had become and questioned what he was supposed to do with such a small sum of money.

https://www.gistlover.com/1-million-naira-stock-my-dad-bought-for-us-in-2002-is-now-valued-at-n11k-craze-crown-cries-out/
This has nothing to do with inflation because if it were due to inflation , those shares should be trading upwards of hundreds of millions .

The company is a shitty company whose value plummeted below its original opening price.

I am sure it's now trading at less than 2kobo a share against the original standard offer of #10.

This has to do with the sharp practices and lack of regulation that plagued the NSE in the early 2000s .

It was a shark tank back then and every idiot with a CAC liscence could play the crap tables known as the NSE.

I won't advice my enemy to put one kobo in the NSE.

Playing the stockmarket long-term is stupid.

You are suppose to treat the stock market like a cold shower - quick in, quick out.

That same amount would have been better spent in real estate aquisition, gold or even FX.

In 2002, dollar was trading at about #70 and gold was trading/closing on average of $310 an ounce , translating to an equivalent of #21,000 per trey ounce of gold (app 33grms).

One million naira will fetch you about 50 ounces of gold (app 1.5kg ).

Today a trey ounce of gold is trading at $2,100.

That one million naira investment thrown into the shark tank known as the Nigerian Stock Exchange would have accumulated $100K worth of gold which is roughly #131,000,000.

Gold never gets old.

Easy to stash .

Does not degrade in both value and quality .

Shut your mouth and stash gold in odd places like under the kitchen sink,
inside your wardrobe hanger pole , insude a flower pot.

As long as you don't make anyone around you know you are buying and stashing gold , it's easy to stash around your house in the most innocous places.

Buy gold .

Dump the Jewish financial fiat scam economy .

The bolt driver thought she booked the ride not knowing it was her aunty.

This is your only defense.

Lagos state knows that issuing stop work and demolition notices will only see them being dragged to court by the erring developer.

Lagos state has no time or resources to waste in a prolonged court case that only seeks to buy time for the errant "developer".

Now they will allow you build to completion and then watch you move in and settle down before sending bulldozers your way.

There is a global C of O on that part of Lekki

They claimed they built on setbacks.

Where was the monitoring team during construction?
Why wait till they finished building before coming to tear the properties down by claiming part of it was built on the setbacks for drainage?

Hopefully they get compensated.
So you will rather start building before securing approval .

And you expect LASG to be monitoring you like kindergarten children in the playground and stepping in to prevent you from building further?

Lagos state no get time for that rubbish since they know you will still stubbornly continue building despite every warning telling you to stop work.

LASG has now decided to make sure you finish the building , move in and feel comfortable before moving their caterpillars to site.

Next time you will engage professional estate lawyers.

Well that's an incompetent and corrupt government for sure. Good you pointed that out
And they are correcting it by bringing down those illegal structures.

Go to court if you have valid documents.

Lagos state will not only be forced to pay for the cost of the property but also other compensation arising from the stress of having ones house demolished.

But we both know this will never happen as they do not posses a single government title and building approval document.
