I had a very nice weekend, went out with the family for swimming. My enjoyment was cut short when my infinix hot note fell into the pool. Since the battery is irremovable I was done for. It was soaked and dripping from all ports. I took off the back cover tried to dry with a towel. I used my wife's phone to check on some methods to revive my phone. I got good opinions especially from nairaland. All pointed to carlcare center. Got their address and decided to go first thing Monday morning. I couldn't sleep I really missed my phone and surfing the net. First thing Monday morning I drove there around 9am. At the entrance there is a security man that issues numbers indicating your position in the waiting list. I was number 40. it got to my turn, I discussed with the costumer Rep, she invited a tech person to check the phone and list things to repair. He brought back the phone and said the screen and motherboard has been damaged. The screen is N10800, the mother board is N15500, cost of repair N4000. Making a total of N30300. I just politely asked for my phone and left. I bought the phone N2500 last year. Disappointed I went to a local phone repair stand hoping to get a miracle. The guy asked" wetin do your phone na". I explained he said" your money na 11k" I did not bargain took out my wallet and paid without blinking. After twenty minutes he said "take am". Thinking he couldn't fix it I just collected the phone expecting him to give me back my money too. Without even raising his head he said " you no go test am". I quickly tapped and swiped the screen and behold my phone is like brand new. I thanked the guy and left with a smile, GEJ style. Anyways thank God I was not scammed by CARLCARE. Abeg big thumbs up to all our hustling brothers out there. una too much biko. |

The chairman of the Chibok development association, Pogu Bitrus has made some revelations about some of the Chibok girls abducted by Boko Haram insurgents – He said some of the girls are embarrassed to return home because they were forced to marry extremists – He said the girls were used as domestic workers and porters but were not sexually abused. Some of the kidnapped Chibok girls are embarrassed to return home because they were forced to marry extremists. The chairman of the Chibok development association, Pogu Bitrus, has disclosed that more than 100 of the abducted Chibok schoolgirls are unwilling to leave their captors. According to Daily Mail, he said they were embarrassed to return home because they were forced to marry extremists and have their babies. Bitrus, who was involved in the negotiations for the release of the girls said they were comfortable with their current location. According to Bitrus, the abducted girls told their parents that they were separated into two groups when they were kidnapped and were forced into embracing Islam, or becoming their slaves. They were reported to have been used as domestic workers and porters but were not sexually abused. That group contain the 21 who were released last week and the 83 who the government are negotiating over. However, the chairman suggested that the 21 girls who were released last week may have to study outside the country because of the stigma the abduction might have caused in their lives. Bitrus who said according to the girls, six girls died during their 30-month captivity added that even girls who escaped two years ago were being educated in the United States. “We would prefer they are taken away from the community and this country because the stigmatisation is going to affect them for the rest of their lives. “Even someone believed to have been abused by Boko Haram would be seen in a bad light,” he said. However, a Chibok girl, Amina Ali Nkeki, escaped in May this year has been reunited with the 21 freed girls, who were still being treated by doctors, psychologists and trauma counselors at a hospital in Abuja. Over 200 girls were kidnapped from a school in Chibok by Boko Haram insurgents in April 2014 and have been held since then. In the process, some girls have escaped from their captors while some are still being held by the insurgents. https://www.naij.com/1014147-shocking-100-chibok-girls-decide-to-stay-with-boko-haram.html?source=index_main |

Violence has erupted in the Gwagwalada office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following the declaration of the chairmanship election as inconclusive by the chief collation officer, Adamu Tanimu said the election became inconclusive following cancellation of two polling units under Ibwa ward, which have a cumulative registered voters of 1881. He had earlier given the scores of all the four participating parties, where APGA's candidate, Mustapha Adamu (Obama) recorded the highest number of 15, 272 votes. Closest rival and incumbent chairman, Abubakar Jibrin of APC recorded 14, 546, with PDP having 6,082 votes. The difference between APGA and APC, according to the collation officer stood at 726 votes. However, he said, since the total number of cancelled votes has far exceeded the difference between the duo, a run-off election has to be conducted by the electoral umpire. This prompted the APGA agent, Ibrahim Danbare to challenge the declaration, and immediately ordered for the hundreds of supporters, who spent night singing and dancing outside the INEC office to enter into the building. And despite the presence of a combined military, police, Civil defence and other security outfits at the gate, the irate supporters overpowered them and made their way into the building. They started vandalising cars and glasses, and began chasing everybody within the office with matchets, sticks and other weapons. They chanted word like "it is impossible", "he (collation officer) won't leave" and other threatening words. Daily Trust reporter miraculously managed to escape unharmed. By 11:30AM.
