Crime / Mysterious Death Of 32yo ‘nigerian Prince’ In Russia Night Club by holllandis: 1:29pm On Jul 06, 2019
Nigerian-born ‘prince’, who became a local celebrity in a small Russian steel-casting city after marrying a local woman and moving in, has died under murky circumstances, triggering a police investigation.
Gabriel Segun Ajayi, 32, was reported dead by the local authorities on Monday. His wife Natalia, 50, said her husband suffered a massive heart attack on Sunday night at a nightclub.

“He just dropped dead. He didn’t take any medicine, simply had some tea,” she was cited as saying. “He never complained about his heart.”

The police said that while there were no signs of foul play in the case, an autopsy will be conducted to establish the cause of the death.

Gabriel, who has been living in Russia since 2015, is survived by twin boys, who were born last year.

he Nigerian-born man was well-known in Cherepovets, a city of some 300,000 residents located 200km north from Moscow, which best known as a center of mining and steel-casting industry. The local press wrote extensively about the jet-black guy with a claimed royal roots and the love story that made him move to Russia.

AFCON 2019 is currently going on in Egypt. Today is Nigeria Vs Cameroon, but with the controversy surrounding the citizenship of former vice president Atiku Abubakar, who do you think he would be supporting today?

The University of Ilorin has said it has yet to trace the academic record of Biodun Fatoyinbo , the embattled Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly.

Our correspondent learnt that the UNILORIN could not find the cleric ’s name on its graduates ’ list .

The Director of Corporate Affairs of the University of Ilorin, Mr Kunle Akogun , said they had checked their academic record unit in the registry and could not find the name of the pastor , who has been accused of sex abuse by Busola Dakolo .

He said , “I have not got any feedback yet from our Academic Records Office . We have been checking , but we have not got anything on him , probably if we know the year he was in the university or the year he graduated or his course of study , that would make it easy for us to trace his record .”

When our correspondent visited the university on Thursday, the record of Fatoyinbo had yet to be traced at the academic record unit of the registry .

However , it is believed Fatoyinbo attended UNILORIN but did not take his final examination papers for some reasons .

However , a source claimed he moved to Osun State Polytechnic, Iree , where he obtained a Higher National Diploma certificate . Unconfirmed reports claimed he attended University of Benin , Edo State after leaving University of Ilorin without completing his studies.

Meanwhile , members of Ilorin branch of COZA seem not bothered by the rape allegation levelled against Fatoyinbo by Dakolo .

Members , who attended Wednesday ’s service at the church opposite Mount Olives Anglican Church and Princess Luxury Suit on Pipeline Road , GRA , Ilorin, looked totally unruffled by the rape allegation .

Efforts to speak with Pastor Olusegun Soetan , who is in charge of the church , was not successful as the ushers insisted that he could not be seen until next week .

But one of the ushers , who identified himself as Japhet Akinola , said the church which started some years ago and holding services on temporary places including Kwara Hotels and the Stella Obasanjo Multi -purpose Hall , moved to its permanent site a few years ago .

Akinola said , “The allegation made by that lady against the Senior Pastor has no substance .”

Politics / 10 reasons Why What Is Happening In Venezuela will happen In Nigeria by holllandis: 11:20pm On May 29, 2016
Oil accounts for about 95% of Venezuela's export revenues and was used to finance some of the government's generous social programmes which, according to official figures, have provided more than one million poor Venezuelans with homes.

But prices for Venezuelan oil have plummeted. They almost halved from an average of $88 per barrel in 2014 to $45 in 2015.

By 13 May 2016, they had fallen to $35 per barrel.
The low oil price means that the government does not have the amount of dollars in its coffers it once had.

This in turn is a problem because Venezuela's economy is not at all diverse.

The country grows and produces very little except oil and has historically relied on imports to feed its people.

A lack of dollars means it is struggling to import all the goods its people need and want.
