Remicynt: Hello Remicynt, Though am not an expert but will repond based on the little I know, 1 Yes you need to apply for Visitors Visa, anyone going into Canada will need a TRV to be given access to the county either PR, Student, Visit, Work Permit and other means 2. Getting a job is easy but based on many factors which includes, holding a work permit, having SIN to be used in getting payment on Canada ADP platform, picking up legal Jobs to avoid ban and lots more, so if you will need a job, you won't be given one on a visit visa as visitors are not permitted to work except you wanna work illegally and earn cash by hand which I won't advice at any point to avoid stories that touches the heart. 3. Yes, you can continue your EE application before, during and after your visit visa is approved but it's advisable to state on your application that you've got an EE profile running if you are a post ITA. 4. Depends solely on what type of Job you get, with whom it's gotten and the benefits involved, for instance when you're picking up a professional Job say accountant in a super mat, or any other outlets store, your job roles and pay will include health insurance based on the business policy, same goes to some other professional jobs too like PSW etc. But if it's vice versa, like a store keeper, cleaner, you won't enjoy insurance in some companies as you get paid per hour for ONLY the job with no benefits attached, so the benefits you get depends on what job you picked up and which company. Finally, it's not about trying a route, it's about getting the full knowledge, information and right counsel about which route to try, anyone can try any route but one has to show to the VO reason you choose the route, benefits to you and them, funds to enable them know you won't be a burden to the Canadian Govt or claim asylum at the end, things to bring you back to your country like business, family etc. I will only advice you keep to keep track on Student route if you or your spouse can advance in academics or pick up Nigeria master degree to add to your certificate and boost your CSR score or a one year Nigeria certificate course, you can as well join the EE platform for guide on any certificate course in Nigeria that could help boast your score, in all I wish you the best in the journey as others can help add more. 1 Like |

Markab: Hello Markab, It all depends on the type of application you made and got approval for, the 2weeks is an average time for passport transmission from you to VFS and back, but lately applicants are taking up to 3/4weeks to get passport back, will advice you raise webform or send emails of urgency explaining the need for your passport if after 2weeks you don't get it. I hope your case will be different and you gets it back asap. Congratulations on your PPR |

ak22: Hello ak22, A skilled worker is any one who has special skill, training, knowledge, and ability in their work. A skilled worker may (but not in all cases) require a college, university or technical school degree/certificate, may also be someone who have learned a skill on a job. Hope it helps 1 Like |

muyiroro: Hello Muyiroro We'd seen successful applicants of the whole family in recent times, if you have the required fund available, convincing SOP and strong tier back home then you can give it a try but if no strong tier yet, you can apply for yours and let others apply after yours is approved while you use them as tiers. Hope it helps |

Abbygailz: Hello Abbygailz You can use him as sponsor if he has available the required fund, your application is on a stand alone and the sponsorship comes from relative. It is safe to use him if he has the required fund but non the less you can add your salary account statement if you have a paid employment. Others could also share their thoughts |

benque: To the bolded, A GIC works like a savings account in that you deposit money into it and earn interest on that money. The difference is that you need to leave your money in a GIC account for a specified period of time. As some Indian does, after full tuition payment, they open a GIC account and deposit 10k CAD into it, this funds sometimes are soft loans taken from their country for academic purposes which they can withdraw in bits for living expenses when they get to Canada. Note: there are different types of GIC account Hope that helps, other gurus can add. 1 Like |

dyce101: You have to hope for the best cause no one can precisely state the duration, few months ago it was 24weeks in 60days it reduces to 15weeks now it's 19weeks and increasing weekly, no two application is the same, you can have yours faster than the processing week. All the best 1 Like 1 Share |

Chijudy1: It's advisable to apply alone and use your family as tiers but note that in your SOP you must outline plans on how your kid will be well taken care of and give more information on future plans to finish your MSc, join your kid and family, in bold, don't state in any part of your application that your family will join you in Canada as the VO might sees this as a means to relocate and not to study. When your application get approved you can apply for them both. I am not an expert, others can also help with comment. 1 Like |
