Nigerian singer, actor and politician, Mr Banky W, has lived up to his promise to auction his 2008 Range Rover SUV after the car was finally sold in a bidding ceremony today in Lagos.

Recall that sometime in July, two ladies filmed and trolled the singer online for using an old model Range Rover after they spotted EME boss and his wife, Adesua Etomi, leaving a grocery store. Both ladies called out the celebrity couple for living a ‘fake life’ but couldn’t afford a befitting car for their celebrity status.

But Banky who through an open letter titled ‘Dear Stalker’, replied the ladies saying he didn’t see the need to own more than one car and that the car in question was an important part of Nigeria’s entertainment history as it has been used to convey some of the industry’s most prominent figures. Banky further said that the car was actually up for sale to the highest bidder and that the proceeds will go to charity.

‘I had decided last month that I’d sell it, and whatever I got for it, I’d hand over to the “Vocational School for the Blind” in Oshodi and the “Pink Oak Cancer Trust Fund”. My Aunt volunteers at the school, and she reminded me that they were still trying to raise some money to care for their students, so I came up with a plan. I told her that I’d give my followers the background history of my old car, and get all my celebrity friends who’d sat in it at some point or another to autograph it, and then put it up for an online auction. I figured that since I didn’t need the money from the sale to buy a new one, we could just auction it off and hopefully raise a decent enough amount of money to give back to those in need,’ Banky said.

The sale was finally held today and Head of Sony Music West Africa, Mr Michael Ugwu, won the bid to purchase the historic vehicle.

Specifications of the 4-wheel drive include Cruise Control, Rear Parking Aid, Universal Garage Door Opener, Keyless Entry, Heated Mirrors, 8 Cylinder Engine, Airbags, and Safety Features.

ollywood Actress Shirley Igwe Launches Diabetes Foundation To Cater To Diabetic People In Nigeria, Narrates How Disease Kills Parents & Aunt

One of the most humble stars in Nollywood, Shirley Igwe who recently launched a foundation to fight the scourge of diabetes, especially the indigents who cannot afford the treatment of the incurable ailment, has told Inside Nollywood why she took the bold step.

Speaking about her personal experience regarding the ailment while officially launching her ‘Daughter’s Love Foundation, the actress said:

“Having lost my mother at the age of 13, and father in 2014 and most recently my aunt, to the cold hands of diabetes, I can only but relate to the pains patients and family of patients go through, throughout the duration of this deadly disease.

It saddens my heart that our society does little or nothing for this cause, and we, as individuals take it for granted. A few people close to me know how passionate I am about helping, and I feel strongly that diabetes care is a cause very much worth supporting, therefore I founded Daughter’s Love Foundation(DFL) to help alleviate human suffering related to diabetes, and its complications among those least able to withstand the burden of the disease.

DLF aimsto create programs and projects that will be of assistance to diabetic patients,as well as widows/widowers in other to promote physical and emotional wellbeing in community / rural developments through financial assistance, provision of healthcare assistance, entrepreneurship for the down trodden, conducting outings for awareness and to educate the underprivileged on the implications of the disease.”

More details have emerged on the near-fatal stabbing attack of Wizkid body guard, Mr Emmanuel Obinna at Club DNA on the Island last week.

An Igbosere Magistrates Court heard today that the attack carried about by Poshills Entertainment boss, Olufemi Olusanya aka Femi Posh and his bouncer David Afari had to do with Wizkid’s debt.

On Thursday the 15th of November 2018, Obinna was beaten and stabbed while attempting to pay part of Wizkid’s 15million Naira debt.

38-year Femi Posh and 29-year-old David Afari were arrested on Friday.

They are currently facing 3-count charge of grievous bodily harm, unlawful assault and conspiracy.

The next hearing will hold on Thursday the 17th of January 2019.

The Nigerian entertainment industry is yet to get over the sudden death of OAP Tosyn Bucknor who passed away in her home on Monday night due to sickle cell complications from a three weeks crisis.

Kemi lala got married to her lover, Chef Fregz in September and the beautiful wedding was planned by Funke Bucknor, elder sister of the late OAP, Tosyn Bucknor.
