The purpose of bail is to secure the attendance of sn accused person at their trial.

As much as I dislike him, El Rufai attending his trial can be secured on less severe conditions, but this is Nigeria where we aim to kill, destroy, decimate people. So nobody ever stops to ask: are these conditions proportionate to the issue at hand?

Someone is watching the way you treat your enemies, and will do much worse when tables turn. El Rufai is also reaping his reward .
