Op, your cause of action can only be situate in the Tort of Negligence and the basic principles of negligence is D+ B = I. i.e a duty of care must be breached and occasion an injury to ground negligence in Tort (300L course work). Unless you resort to blackmail or threat of bad publicity. This has its own implications.

You can read up John Grisham' s book The Appeal. Although not an authority on torts, but gives you an idea of how Tort cases are structured if you desire to win.
