Experts in the house, thanks for being there for us novices.

Please I noticed that my car is leaking engine oils, I contacted my mechanic who said the "Oils Seal' is the problem. And he is talking about bringing down the engine and so on.

Am scared and will like to know how complicated this can get. Is it something I can just dabble into with no issues after that. By the way, the oil leak is not so much, I only need to top oils once a week.

Could this be what causes the Small vibration i notice whenever I want to accelerate, like a 504 being moved on gear 3.

It will be good to always share car details like year/spec etc eg. 08/ MDX sports. Meanwhile, with respect to Oil seal issues i think it always requires a drop down becasue that seem to be the only way to clear the path for access to the broken seal. But lets get more advice from the Techs like Gazzus and others

Each case on its own facts bro. That is how the machinery of the law grinds. Justice for a claimant is not what the claimant thinks it is or should be. It is what the extant law (statutory and case law) have laid down as guiding principles for the particular set of facts as may be be applicable in each instance.

A man has been maligned by a business that is set up for profit, he is seeking compensation and most people here are finding it funny and amusing.... it is a big shame!

You people should go and educate yourselves on how the legal process works so as to be better informed.

Yet, a good number of you are dreaming of moving to america or somewhere in europe.... have you asked yourselves why businesses in these places, especially the big ones don't joke around with any customer - even the least of them? The slightest mistake that causes any customer grief will see you paying your half years profit as compensation to that customer. The lawyers and the judicial systems in these countries live for these type of cases and that is why every aspect of their society functions the way it should. Social advancements and inventions for better living usually come from these type of law suits. Imagine if every single person that feels wronged by any business files a lawsuit and claims damages, do you know how many businesses - both government and private that will step up their game and procedures?

for example.....

In probably the most famous example of a seemingly trivial legal action is Liebeck v. McDonald’s Restaurants, also known as the McDonald’s coffee case and the hot coffee lawsuit

In 1992 Stella Liebeck, a 79-year-old woman from Albuquerque, New Mexico, bought a cup of coffee from a drive through McDonalds and as she removed the lid, spilled the entire cup of coffee on her lap.

She was wearing cotton sweatpants; they absorbed the coffee and held it against her skin, scalding her thighs, buttocks, and groin.

Hospitalized for eight days while she underwent skin grafting, followed by two years of medical treatment she sued the fast food giant claiming it was too hot and more likely to cause serious injury than coffee served at any other establishment.

She won an astonishing £1.7million.

As a result of this, McDonald's stopped serving extremely hot coffee, except on request by the customer.

Do you think what the man is doing up there in the story is still trivial? undecided

The country is a huge joke.

Bro, work hard. They didn't start today. At one point in their lives, these guys were just regular students, finished school, served and started a career from the bottom, before rising through the ranks and then ultimately breaking off to chart new courses as entrepreneurs. Of course not all entrepreneurs are successful, but an effort must be made, and it never too late to start. The story can still change. Be motivated.

Car Talk / Re: What Makes A V6 Engine Different From Normal Car Engines by HOTARIO(m): 10:07am On Apr 09, 2017
When it comes to cars, but what you can afford so that you will have a good relationship while it lasts. It's like a addition to your family which you have to provide for.

Interestingly, in engine comparisons, the Kazeems of our time will tell you to start clear of a Camry with 6 cylinders but will tell you how great a Sienna or Highlander which features the same engine. In the end i think it's all about perception.

But like is said, but what you can afford so you won't tell gory tales and gas mouth a good car, just because you could not afford to maintain it properly.

A lot of people have still not realised the impact of the exchange rate on imported goods. The price of cars is not only a function of the year of manufacture or even it's condition. I stopped investing in car imports because of the exchange rate. When a dealer posts a price if you are interested call to negotiate. If not, by all means leave the dealer's thread and not post negative comments to discredit the sale. The prices of cars in the USA have not changed. What changed is exchange rate which also impacts on clearing cost.

Meanwhile, forgive my epistle. Just thought to share my thoughts.

When I read some comments on this forum I cant help but laugh at the shallow opinions and conclusions reached without any empirical fact in support.

Forget the headlines and attend one of these proceedings to witness first hand the testimonies of witnesses and argument of the parties and you will be shocked to know how bad things are.

Guys, let us pray hard for this country.

My opinion.

Business / Re: Beware Of Bitcoin, Swisscoin, Others, SEC Warns Nigerians by HOTARIO(m): 7:56am On Jan 13, 2017
It is understandable that SEC wants to be seen as doing its job of industry regulator, especially when the issues revolve around investments schemes. However, the Regulator should first conduct a proper research into the various concepts before issue its warnings or before out rightly condemning a scheme or technology it has little knowledge about. In the fast paced world of today, industry regulators should pay close attention with a view to learn and find ways to key into the grown of new technology in order to take advantage of benefits it may offer. While the world is studying digital currencies like bitcoins to find ways of how to make them work as alternative mode of exchange (acceptability + regulation), our regulators are crying wolf and raising false alarm over nothing, yet we want to be technologically advanced as a country.

Research is very key to development.

Trully when you consider the price of the ADS the warning light will not bother you. I plan to order the resistor soon and see if it takes out the light.

Hi guys,

Still on Shocks matters. I was at Oyingbo yesterday for Oil change and routine checks (B service) and decided to window shop. I saw the KYB Gas charged Excel-G shocks and the vendor said N100k for fronts and N60k for rear. I asked for the ADS (for the sports or Advance pkg) and he said most of them don't stock it as it's about N800k for the fronts. I still have my ADS in my store (only one is bad. The other is good) and will hand them to a new buyer in the event I'm selling the MDX in the future. Pics of my ADS below

It has been a month since I successfully had my rear ADS shocks replaced with regular and no warning light so far and as "vtec260" suggested, I've put more tape to seal off the resistors to make it as waterproof as possible.
Today, I had my fronts ADS struts replaced by my mechanic with regular ones (full OEM struts assembly). I used 1 Ohm 10 Watt resistors for both fronts. No warning lights even when switching between Comfort and Sport. The only thing is that somehow I lost the wheel alignment so I have to do the alignment soon. Overall, I am happy with the result and driving is much better. Thanks guys.

The Active Dampers (ADS) also come with Springs, but the strut features an electromagnetic function to switch between Sports (firm) and Comfort (smooth) modes.

The alternative is to switch from ADS to non ADS (which i did on my 07 Sports with Tech/Entertainment, which became the Advance pKG in 2010. My front right side blew. The non ADS shocks (which is used by the other MDX trims, works perfectly fine, except for the check ADS light which will show up on your Multi Information Display (MID) screen.

The toks ADS at Oyingbo or Ladipo will cost you N280-350k approx (last time i checked). with high $$$ rates, this may have gone up. with that price, you can have all four units of non ADS.

keep up updated on your find

The halo rings do not affect the factory HID lights. It's basically a DRL with enhanced looks. But the LED parking lights and white high beam lights r brighter than stock yellow lights.

Lights on EBay $19.50. Other options available for more or less. Free shipping through EMS.

The installation was about #30k (Though partly DIY). Cost covers glue (not super glue), silicone sealant, high beam bulbs, cleaning of headlight lens and labour to tech guy.
