For more than six years now, commuters plying Awka in Anambra state to Enugu, have been subjected to avoidable trauma occasioned by bad roads and total neglect by the Governor Willie Obiano led All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), administration in Anambra state.

Few days ago, a trailer conveying containers from Awka to Enugu fell on the road, thereby causing severe traffic gridlock, in addition to the severe flooding and dilapidated state of the road.

A truck driver who was seen assisting his colleagues with other passerby told our reporter, Kelechi Nwachukwu that, a journey of less than an hour sometimes take them two days because of the poor state of the road.

However, further investigation reveals that the Governor of Anambra state, H. E. Chief Willie Obiano, who is supposed to pay more attention to the poor state of the road is busy hiring helicopters anytime he visits Enugu state.

According to our reporter, the governor spends more than N2.5 million each time he travels to Enugu state by helicopter, thereby abandoning the people of the state, who are languishing on daily basis on the road.

Governor Obiano has practically abandoned every section of governance in the state, except for party politics and how to grab money to sponsor Professor Charles Soludo, the Guber Candidate of APGA in the November 6, 2021 Guber Election.

Anambra state under APGA and Governor Willie Obiano is in a comatose state. The state is not only lacking behind in infrastructure, the APGA led administration has also plundered the resources, thereby reducing Anambra state government to a beggarly government.

On page 348 of the Official Gazette, a retiring ACG is entitled to a cook on CONPASS 05, one steward, Gardner, driver and orderly.

Other compensation packages include a jeep, a salon car to be replaced every four years, 24hours security by two armed men in the residence, one pistol as personal weapon and lastly, medical treatment within or outside Nigeria not exceeding $3000

It was a disgraceful outing for the embattled governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Anambra governorship election, Valentine Ozigbo, as PDP governors shunned the inauguration of the National Campaign Council leading to its postponement to Thursday.

Chairman of the Committee, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, was nowhere to be seen just as PDP leaders in the National Assembly and other party big wigs, who are members of the committee, were also visibly absent.

Ozigbo, who came alone to the PDP National Secretariat for the inauguration, was not accorded the traditional greetings usually given to candidates by party faithful. He was seen soliciting for photo ops with some party members.

Senate Minority Leader, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, who was sighted at the PDP National Secretariat, apparently for another issue, left despite entireties by Ozigbo, at the VIP car park.

Director General of the State Campaign Council, Senator Uche Ekwunife, was visibly shaken by the embarrassing development as the abandoned candidate was seen making frantic phone calls.

Party sources hinted that the embarrassing situation was occasioned by discontentment among the governors over the conduct of the primary that produced Ozigbo.

This is in addition to fears of contempt of court following pending cases in court over the controversial nomination process.

Meanwhile, Governor Ikpeazu is also said to be considering withdrawing as chairman of the campaign council over the disagreements.

It was further gathered that the governors are wary of getting involved with the campaign that they fear may not survive the barrage of court cases.

Given the embarrassing situation, Acting National Chairman of the party, Elder Yemi Akinwunmi, refused to perform the inauguration under the circumstance, despite entreaties by Ozigbo.

The leadership of the party however caved in to Ozigbo’s plea to reschedule the inauguration to Thursday, September 9, the same date slated for the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party, so as to ambush the governors and other leaders of the party to grace the inauguration.

The Thursday rescheduling is already generating discontent among party stakeholders as they insist that it would amount to disrespect to NEC.

Meanwhile sources close to the campaign council hinted that the Director General of the State Campaign Council, Senator Ekwunife, has become frustrated and may announce her withdrawal from the position.

The National Headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in abuja, has postponed the inauguration of its Anambra state Guber Election National Campaign Council indefinitely.

According to a reliable source at the party’s headquarters in abuja, Mr Valentine Ozigbo, the former governor of Anambra state and godfather of PDP in the state, Mr. Peter Obi and other few remaining members of the party were seen loitering at the premises of the secretariat before the announcement of the postponement.

It was gathered that the absence of the supposed Chairman of the National Campaign Council and Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu was largely responsible for the postponement.

Governor Ikpeazu of Abia State, was supposed to come to the inauguration with other members of the Campaign council, but failed to turn up.

It was not however clear why Governor Ikpeazu failed to turn up for the inauguration, but another sources at the PDP Secretariat told our reporter, Kenneth Okon, that governor Ikpeazu maybe contemplating withdrawing from the campaign due to party’s internal wrangling.

The PDP in Anambra state has been embroiled in series of inter-party crisis due to high handedness of the former governor of the state, Mr. Peter Obi.

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State is currently recruiting staff of Federal University of Technology (FUTO), Owerri as would be INEC Ad-Hoc staff for the upcoming Anambra state guber election.

The exercise is being coordinated by one Henry Ikpamazie (GM, Owerri Capital Development Authority, OCDA), an appointee of the Governor.

The FUTO anchor man is one Chiadika Ekwemalor, a staff of the university. They are even producing fake FUTO IDs for non staff of FUTO.

All stakeholders in the electoral processes in Anambra state should please take this piece of information seriously and monitor the list of INEC ad-hoc staff in order to forestall this plans of the All Progressives (APC).

Mr Ifeanyi Ubah in 2017, 2019 said that God has been good to him and he won’t relent in delivering the church project before the end of the years mentioned.

Using the church project for his continued politics, Mr. Ubah in August 26, 2020 and on March 2021, in the presence of Catholic bishops assured Nnewi Catholic family he won’t relent. He assured them he will present the church which is scheduled to be commissioned during his Golden Jubilee celebration.

Two months to Anambra governorship election, this same character who since 2013 hasn’t fulfilled any promise he made to the church and his immediate St Peter’s Cleverly Umuanuka Nnewi, an act that can be described as the height of inconsistency, fraud, unreliable, insubordination in political engagement and otherwise, has come out to deceive Anambra people with assurance of good governance delivery.
