Christianity EtcRev Okoroafor Assumes General Superintendent Of Assemblies Of God Church by hsafarms(op): 6:36pm On Apr 02, 2017
The drama rocking the Assemblies of God Church, Nigeria, may have been finally resolved following the takeover of the national secretariat of the church at the Independence Layout, Enugu, by Rev Chidi Okoroafor as the general superintendent.

The takeover of the national secretariat by Rev Okoroafor followed an intervention by heavy security operatives that effected the eviction of erstwhile general superintendent Prof Emeka. The heavy security personnel was led by the Enugu state commissioner of police, Dan Mallam Mohammed.

The Reverend Chidi Okoroafor, on behalf of the leaders of the church, thanked God and the faithful of the church for their steadfastness while the protracted legal tussle lingered. He called on the pastors and members of the church to unite for the growth of the church in the spread of the gospel.

The Supreme Court had in a unanimous judgment on the 24th of February this year upheld the judgment of the appeal court which had earlier upheld the decision of the General Committee of the Church that suspended and dismissed the former leader of the church, Prof Paul Emeka.

It would be recalled that Prof Emeka had argued that the apex court’s ruling did not throw him out as the general superintendent.

Doctors may not have chosen medicine for purely financial reasons. However, earning a decent salary certainly can help to give you (and your family) a good quality of life! After all those years of study, exams and on calls, wouldn’t you like to be compensated fairly?
There are wonderful benefits to working abroad (aside from financial reasons). These include :

-Learning new non-medical skills

However, in this article, I am going to explore in more depth, the financial remuneration that you can expect to receive in some of the highest paying countries for medics.
All salaries are shown in dollars, for comparative purposes.

PoliticsBiafra: MASSOB Begins Sensitization, Mobilization On How To Secede by hsafarms(op): 12:07pm On Mar 27, 2017
The Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, says it has commenced sensitization and mobilization of people on the pattern of “Biafra” referendum that will commence soon.

MASSOB leader, Uchenna Madu, in a statement he issued in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, over the weekend said the referendum was the methodology for the actualization of Biafra which will happen soon.

The statement reads in part: “The referendum will determine our future existence as an indigenous people’ and undo the British enslavement policies of the Ndigbo.

“The Movement for Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, has started mobilizing and sensitizing the people of Biafra on the need and pattern of the Biafran Referendum that will commence soon.

“We see it as the need of the hour, as every self-determination struggle had its methodology. The non-violent Biafra struggle and restoration urgently and earnestly demands the long awaited referendum.

“MASSOB, Biafra Peoples National Council, BPNC, and other pro-Biafran groups have resolved to thwart and undo this British enslavement called marital union that will never work again.

“We have also resolved to work in unity of strength, cohesion and one accord pursuant to achieving a resounding referendum exercise that will determine our future existence as an indigenous people.

“The current escalation of the quest for an exit from the failed Nigerian union must, therefore, be seen by the global community in its true context as the continuation of an almost 50 years old fight for self-determination, driven by a clash of irreconcilable civilizations and cultures, erected by colonial fiat. Members of the Movement for the Survival of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) during their rally to mark the 17th anniversary of the movement, yesterday, in Awka, Anambra State.

“Providentially, the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples 2007, offers a fresh window of engagement with these volatile issues in a manner that steers everybody away from the spectre of violence, since a simple Referendum can resolve the matter instead of war and violence.”

*Count Buhari out of certificate scandal —Presidency
By Henry Umoru & Levinus Nwabughiogu
ABUJA —THE Senate has summoned the Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Professor Ibrahim Garba, to appear before it today and explain his side of the story regarding the certificate scandal allegation levelled against Senator Dino Melaye (APC, Kogi West), that he did not graduate from the institution.
Also to appear before the Senate today is the Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (retd), over allegation that Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki was on a vengeance mission against the NCS, following failure to pay Customs duty of N74 million on a N298 million Range Rover SUV.
Dino Melaye
Speaking with Vanguard yesterday, Chairman, Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, Senator Samuel Anyanwu (PDP, Imo East), said the immediate past Senate leader, Senator Ali Ndume who raised the issue on the floor of the Senate would appear today before the committee.

Count Buhari out of certificate scandal
— Presidency
Meanwhile, Presidency, last night, dissociated President Muhammadu Buhari from any certificate scandal in the country, saying he has none hanging on his neck.
The reaction followed a chronology of certificate scandals rocking various Nigerians in the corridors of power past or present published by a national daily (not Vanguard ), yesterday.
In a statement, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Shehu Garba, who was incidentally the Director, Media and Publicity of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Committee, APCPCC, stated that the issue was a campaign of calumny deliberately launched against Buhari to stop him from contesting.

PoliticsHanding Election Disputes To Courts, Abnormal —jonathan by hsafarms(op): 7:13am On Mar 27, 2017
Yenagoa —Former President Goodluck Jonathan, weekend, described as an anomaly, the increasing cases of election petitions at the tribunals to resolve issues of dispute from general elections.

This, according to him, has prevented the people from choosing their leaders.
He said though the country’s judiciary is made up of reputable judges that are capable of resolving election disputes, the electoral process is threatened by the fact that with election petitions, politicians have handed the power of choice of the elected officers from the people to a few judges.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan
Jonathan stated this when the Bayelsa State governor and Chairman of the PDP Peace and Reconciliation Committee, Seriake Dickson and his members submitted the report of the committee to him at his Otuoke country home in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

The former President lamented that the rising number of cases at the tribunals have greatly limited the peoples’ participation in the electoral process.
He said: “After voting, it is 10 million votes for governors or President. Your mandate may be upturned by a few judges. And this is anomalous in Nigeria. When I was the Vice President, a South African Deputy President was with me and I was discussing with Ban Kim Moon on whether Africa should give a fixed time for election petitions against President and Governors before being sworn-In.

They may be distracted. He will not seat in the office and start going to court. The constitution gives immunity to governors and presidents.
“And they are not supposed to be distracted. If a Governor or President is sitting and facing litigation costing millions, his performance will be limited.”
The South African woman present and I ask her what happens in South Africa. First, she was a bit surprised and said such situation does not happen in South Africa. She said South Africans don’t go to election tribunal after election.”

According to him, “Here in Nigeria, we have surrendered the power to choose to the courts. When elections are conducted, our people manipulate the election. We must return the power of electing our leaders back to the people.

“I am praying that one day, Nigerians will take that power of deciding leaders back and at the end of elections anybody who wins, wins genuinely and need not bother about court.
“I respect the judiciary and judges. They are credible men and women. They have decided to serve the people. They also sentenced themselves to semi imprisonment.

“The average judge does not socialise to maintain their integrity. When we go and enjoy ourselves, they don’t. They are respected.
“We want our vote to count and not that after voting, a judicial panel will upturn the vote. I am calling on Nigerian youths to call for a close review of the election process to hand over the power of choice to the people,” he said.

Christianity EtcOmokri To Pastors: Sell Your Private Jets, Use The Money To Feed The Poor by hsafarms(op): 7:54pm On Mar 26, 2017
Never in the history of Nigeria has suicide been so widespread. There is so much despair in the land. We need police presence around the Lagoon in Lagos. But my thinking is even if we police the lagoon, how many suicides go unreported in villages across Nigeria? This is not about PDP or APC. If doctors and business men and women are being moved to suicide, what about the increasing number of unemployed?

I call on churches to shift focus from miracles and financial breakthroughs to extending love to the broken, lonely, unemployed and abandoned in their communities.

Sell your founders private plane and use the money to feed thousands as Jesus fed thousands!
