Things like; local government chairmen hosting all those that graduated excellently in academic pursuit from their local government areas.
All you hear is a president with PHD hosting and giving millions to footballers or giving out grants to nollywood while totally abandoning the nation's graduates.

Boy shut up! My cousin schools in Eshoot or ESUT, he can count at least 5 murder cases everyday that happens in enugu. Recently enugu was branded the crime capital of Nigeria. Can you beat that? Enugu has been taking the lead in octogenerian molest@tion, kidnapping, ritual killing, arm robbery, campus cultism, etc, instead what the vegetable governor is busy doing is to fight with his wife everyday like an ediot.

It may appear so to you but the golden rules by which leaders are judged worldwide is their readiness to accept and implement solutions that deliver results however difficult doing such is.

As one example, when Ribadu says "Mr.President you must stop Nigeria selling her crude through traders to reduce theft and corruption against the Nation" then one expects GEJ to act accordingly. Instead all we saw, to the disgrace of Nigerian, was efforts to ridicule Ribadu !!! Till today, almost a year after that recommendation, nothing has changed and Nigeria would have lost a lot because we have a Presidents who , if we shun sentiments, is guilty of actions and inactions that worsen our major problems.

We have seen his decision to hand out pipeline protection contracts culminate in the worst level of oil theft seen for a long time. I think you can accept that corruption and impunity is now hideous. Given the global economic condition and even the advantages the report indicate we have, minimal proactive effort would have guaranteed that we made gains as a Country more competitively welcoming to business and investment. These are the sort of truth we must face as adults regardless of how we may be inclined to feel sorry for Jonathan. He is not very good at his job and accepting that is an inevitable situation stakeholders (whether employers or citizens) confront in life everyday with pragmatism and without undue emotions.

To be honest, I could easily give several examples of the actions/inactions of GEJ that perpetuates or directly worsened some of the most serious problems which Nigeria cannot develop without tackling. Is it that I am too harsh on GEJ or is it that the sentimental nature of Nigerians means, for numerous reasons, many remain disinterested in noting that this man is failing?

Its clear that the yorubas on this forum never learn from history. Fashola's action is inexcusable because as a SAN, he should know that the constitution guarantees every Nigerian citizen the right lo live anywhere they choose. In other words, I am a Nigerian first before I am hausa, or ibo or yoruba.

The comments on this forum especially by the yorubas are very disturbing, because it shows the depth of their understanding of the concept of nationhood.

You were the ones who refused the ibos to go their own way. But still you and your hausa fulani brothers hate on them, bomb them, deport them and launch abuses at them in this same fake Nigeria.

For the avoidance of doubt, Let me make it clear that Nigeria can never develop or even record any appreciable progress with such myopic and divisive mindset. We must change the way we see ourselves and one another. Our people are our greatest resources.

I do hope that Justice will one day prevail in this "dream" nation, Nigeria.

Kei144: I personally would like something serious enough to dissuade Igbos and other Nigerians from senseless immigration. A person is not sure what s/he is going to do in a foreign land, yet s/he immigrates to the place only to face untold hardship. The result is always that the person puts his/her hands into shameful activities that put their native lands to shame.
