Samakus:Hahahahaha. The thing done tire me seriously. Don't know which one to believe, even though most of us, had no kobo added to our salaries here in Universities. But the payslip will explain better. My concern is even the arrears, no one is giving us genuine information about it or seem to know what is happening about it. Though I believe we will soon have the truth known. |
roman1755:So how about the arrears sir? When are they going to pay it? |
Smokey5:This hope is too high o. Sir, please, should we start celebrating? |
eagleeye2:With your pin, you are good to go. Thanks too |
eagleeye2:Don't forget your PFA certificate PIN. That's is Pension Fund Administrator. The certificate issued to you. The pin is very important along with other originals as earlier mentioned. |
Samakus:Yes, these deductions were made. But the truth remains that, minimum wage was not included in the salaries. Because all of us here revived just the basic salaries. Some did not even receive up to what the use to receive. From University of Jos. |
Samakus:My dear, my hope has finished highing already. I pray all these information. |
Mrgreatness:No single kobo was added to my salary sir. I am even afraid with the rumour FEOM my colleagues in the office. Most of them are saying, they said there is no going to be minimum wage increment for universities staff. How true is this rumour please? |
freeman500:University of Jos. |
freeman500:i I am on Zenith Bank, I received mine since yesterday. |
Smokey5:Amen. I pray this should happen, otherwise, what I received yesterday has weaken my spirit and there was a very high hope only to be disappointed. |
jmaine:But we have not received payslips. Will FG send pay slip? Otherwise, we don't know what is the issue. Meanwhile, are universities entitle to Minimum wage increment? If yes, what's the problem that our minimum wages were paid along side with salaries? Could it be because we are first timer on IPPIS? How about the areas payment, if we are entitle to Minimum wage increment? When would they pay the arears? Someone help answer these question. I am really confused since I saw my alert yesterday. I am from federal university. University of Jos particularly. |
University or Polytechnic or college of education? And please, it is through IPPIS? How about arrears if through IPPIS? Please, brief us. |
I don't really know what this govt want fa. I am seeing strike ahead. |

The Federal Government has declared lecturers yet to be captured in the newly introduced Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System(IPPIS) won’t be paid February salary. It also disclosed that about 55 percent members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has so far registered in IPPIS. The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Hajiya Zainab Ahmed stated these while addressing reporters at the opening of the 2020 Management Retreat for Treasury Directors of Finance and Directors of Internal Audit in Kano on Thursday. “Unfortunately most reforms that you undertake you come across resistance. We have had resistance from ASUU on the implementation of the IPPIS and I am happy to report that at least up to 55 percent of ASUU members are registered and the ones that are not are not getting their February salary,” the minister declared. Speaking on the need for the IPPIS system, the minister said it has helped in identifying over 70,000 ghost workers in the Federal civil service and is hoping to make the system free of ghost workers in future. “It is in eliminating ghost workers because you register on the IPPIS using biometrics and we are currently working with the office of the head of service to link up the IPPIS HR management module with the payroll itself. It will help us better maximise the efficiency of the system. “I know that we have up to 70,000 ghost workers that have been identified in this process and we hope that we will come to a time when we will say that we have no ghost workers,” she stated. |
They are just finding ways to make staff not to start protest. |
This is the situation here in the University of Jos.

This seems to be a case of all Federal MDAs

EDUCATIONNigerian Universities staff threaten strike March 3, 2020By Wale Odunsi The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) has threatened strike over delay in the payment of their new minimum wage. Salaam Abdussobur, National Public Relations Officer, in a statement on Monday, said while workers in other sectors were already enjoying the new wage, the federal government has abandoned university workers. It noted that with the conclusion of the negotiations on the wage, SSANU expected an implementation would be seamless. “Unfortunately, however, months after the agreements were concluded and dusted, it seems the workers in the university system have been forgotten in the scheme of things”, it said. “While workers in other sectors have started enjoying the increment in the salaries, the university system has not. “Sadly, prices of goods and services immediately shot up as soon as the minimum wage was implemented, thereby causing financial hardships and difficulties for our members,” it read. SSANU lamented that there has not been any explanation from the government why the payment was delayed. “As a consequence, our members are becoming increasingly restive and agitated over the obvious neglect of the university sector in the implementation of the national minimum wage act.” SSANU called on the government to pay its members the new wage regime and payment of its arrears without further delay. The body said they have been patient enough and have shown great understanding with government on many of its policies. SSANU warned that the understanding and patience should not be at the expense or to the detriment of members’ welfare and incomes. “With the situation of things, it is becoming clearer to us that except an industrial action is undertaken, the new national minimum wage may never be implemented in the university system. “We hereby sound a note of warning to ensure the immediate payment of the minimum wage in order to guarantee industrial peace in the university system,” the statement added. No salaries yet here in UNIJOS |
I heard that there is no minimum wage increment for federal varsity workers. That the workers are already earning above minimum wage. Can someone help justify this? Meanwhile, we have not seen salaries for the month of February here in UNIJOS. |

Its seems there is no minimum wages and arrears to universities, polytechnics and colleges of education. Otherwise, polytechnics too did not enroll on time? How about the colleges of education? It's rather unfortunate that this country did not value education and that is why everything about education is taken for granted. These institutions in a country that values education would have been the first to be paid. |

So up till now, No Staff From Federal University has collected his or her minimum wage arrears? Any news? |
Tessyy1701:This is alarming. Why is the arrears for universities are being politicized? This is becoming disheartening. |
Nothing here too in UNIJOS. We are still waiting patiently. |
