Available options**
1) Osimhen - good quality yet to be proven at Higher quality Seria A.
2) Iheanacho - EPL flop
3) Simon - Good
4) Chukwueze - 3 goals in 37 games, a lot of development work required.
5) Kalu - Ok but not outstanding
6) Onyekuru - Good but unproven at Higher level
7) Musa - EPL flop
cool Onauchu - unable to justify selection from games played in the SE
9) Dessers. - untested at a higher level
10) Umar - very low quality league ( village champion)
11) Nwaekeme - untested at a higher level
12) Ejuke - untested at a higher level
13) Iwobi - midfielder
14) Kayode - Good potential but untested in SE opportunity not given.

None of these players has attained the level of Ighalo and none of them is better than him. The only player able to contend is Osimhen.

We talk about players in form, what will be Osimhen form in the much more quality and competitive Seria A.

He will not be the focal point of the team and with a ball played into space and or over the top of defenders for him to run onto as the main strategy will simply not work in Seria A. This league is well know for defending and closing spaces.

This is a test that Ighalo has already passed with flying colours, PROVEN, TESTED and CONFIRMED.

If we bring Vic Moses into the equation none of them has played at his level and or exceeded his ability.
this your thinking and resolve is parochial.

You still haven't learn.... hope you know that the league Oshimen played has 2 teams in the semi final of UCL and one of them trashed your over hyped man city huh

And for Ighalo at oshimen's age he was nowhere to be found...so please don't put both in the same sentence.

Wish you could use this same energy to canvas for vardy recall in the English National Team...doubt you can say that

Very funny. grin

Anyway, I do understand there are rules guiding participantion in this reputable forum that has over the years become the source of information and a place where people can voice their opinions. So, therefore, it's expedient we are conscious and adhere to the rules in other to enjoy the privilege availed us.

However, as at the time I viewed this thread after long abstinence though unintended, the comparison between Abraham and Osimhen, who's better, who is best was in debate. Don't forget Osimhen is a super eagles player.

Stats were dropped and it brought about the comparison between their clubs and leagues. This was how Chelsea, Ligue 1, EPL etc came into the picture and argument ensured. I don't know if that was the case before I surfaced. The point here is, talk na em bring talk but I am not saying we should dwell to long on it.

Moreover, as long as we are enthusiastic about football, and our best players plays in Europe which is the best in the world, it's inevitable to admire, reflect and discuss about the best leagues, clubs, coaches, tactics, matches etc, and wish our players get to play in one the best leagues, clubs, and under these best coaches with better tactics and pattern that will suit and improve our players.

Abi, if you didn't watch Athletico Madrid play, how did you know that club will not improve Chuks? How did you know Turkish league is not good enough for Iheancho if you only focused on national team football? I think they both complement each other.

Nevertheless, we have to balance things here. We need to mind those who feel uncomfortable and those who feels uncomfortable should also show understanding else there be problem if both parties insist on their "right" or "opinion". Peace
Thanks bro....you've said it all.
I don't know if some peeps here think nairaland is like their nuclear family where they can dish out instructions the way they like....

Over 90% of us here are men some with families already...everyone deserve some level of respect. I was so disappointed with the outcry and involving the MOD all because of the UEFA and league discuss.

Listen, I may not agree or stand with Idennaa when it comes to his suggestion to abandon our recruitment of Naija lads born abroad and I have let him know that a couple of times.... BUT... HE DID NOTHING WRONG IN CALLING FOR MODERATION to be made on how this thread, reputed to be the home of Naija Football on NL, was being so blatantly derailed.

You guys keep giving the cheap excuse of the pandemic when football was shut down but tell me, football returned and several of our Naija Lads have been in action even since. Why cannot that be the focus?? Also, why didn't they go to their various club threads to get all those banter talks done since Naija Football was not in action... Why bring it here??

Truth is there is no version of this where derailment is to be applauded. You are here calling for freedom. So people should be free to derail as much as they like?? Is that it?

Abeg... Let us be reasonable and understand that there are reasons why we have some rules that just must be respected even in the presence of freedom of speech.
I think you really need to understand that folks here didn't just jumped into this club and leagues discussion all of a sudden... the prolong debate and comparism of all super eagles players and others brought the discussion....and moreover that's the major football going on now.

Just that I think some folks are intimidated with some discussions here because left to me I don't see this discuss as issues and moreover it is always done once a while

I knew this would come up.

You see, the problem with our local coaches is a systemic problem, it has very little to do with competence really. We have very conpetent local coaches, the problem is the system that's ridden with corruption and we need to fix that, importing average foreign coaches to come coach us - how long can we continue in that line?

They also have to be treated well. A better pay package for them. Rohr can afford to be owed months of salary because he has other businesses, how many of our local coaches can afford that?

We need to have coaches who understand our culture, develop it, then we can continue from there.
Bro, corruption has come to stay in Nigeria. don't think it will get better at all.
every institution seems to perpetually corrupt, i was in the High Court today to do an affidavit

the level of corruption i see amongst those court officials baffles me, even the commissioner for oath is more corrupt than anyone could think

Nigerians are just something else when they see money, the average Nigeria can easily be bribed
having an indigenous coach for SE will make it easy for mediocre players that earn some hard currencies to fetch call ups
all they have to do is to dangle a few dollar notes at the face of this indigenous coaches
boom!! they get call ups and even get to play

I stand firmly with what Odegbami is saying. You cant tell me out of all qualified Nigerians coaches and the rest of qualified persons from other African countries we cant find a coach from the continent who understands our football mentality. Its high time we stop giving these Europeans chances to ridicule us. Slavery is over yet we are still hiring these white men thinking they have some magic wand.

NFA should also give scholarships to interested retired super eagles player as a reward for their service. We need to invest in our football because even if a black man is the smartest coach the whites will never employ him , simply because they feel you are inferior to them.
Oga you have started again, that was how you start the cry that Nwakali was better than Aribo, Iwobi and other innit boys in the super eagles only to set up an e-fight with sheyishemba and now you have start to compare a reputable coach with som of the corrupt coaches Nigeria have been producing and still producing in numbers

can you compare the world cup outing the last time with the japan/korea act of Onogbinde ?
everyone of us is here supporting the super eagles partly because of the transparency work of Rohr where merits trump sentiment in players selection and call ups

i will prefer mediocre transparent european coach over Onigbinde even amuneke can't be absolved of corruption

The way things are going. Osimhen could become Africa's most expensive signing of all time, this summer, beating the Nicolas Pepe transfer record.

81 million euros being mentioned which translates to about 73.5 million pounds. That's a little more than the 80million euros (72 million pounds Arsenal spent on Pepe).

Time will tell if it is a new African transfer record fee or not.

But one thing I know is this: Osimhen will move for a big fee. He will most likely do well in Italy and achieving star status in the Serie A will fetch an even bigger transfer fee in his prime or near his prime. This young man is gonna cost 100million + euros someday. Just watch out.

L'equipe reports that Napoli Coach, Gennaro "Rino" Gattuso is willing/ready to take a pay cut just to see Osimhen's transfer fee completed and his personal terms met. It is L'equipe reporting. That's some real desperation if true.

The point no be say you no fit get players from there. You fit, but na very high-risk players. There's a high chance that bringing in a player supposedly doing well in the "backwater leagues" will fail in the premier league, especially cos some of the players you could get of that amount are still budding. So quite understand why they would turn to the championship or other premier league players, cos, for the most part, these guys are used to the premier league or to something of a similar level of difficulty/rigority. So as a recruiter you gotta make a choice. Do you want to take the risk? Or do you want someone that has a higher probability of fitting right in. Now there's the problem that the players you get from the championship/Premier league are below average anyway, why would their former teams not renew their contract unless they are from the championship or you are offering a better salary. Besides some EPL teams still have decent academies.
exactly if I was an epl coach I will prefer buy young prospects from the championship that was how joe Cole and Frank lampard came to Chelsea and the rest today is history

Lille are desperate to sell Osimhen due to financial crisis. They also promised Napoli that they owed them one after Nicolas Pepe rejected them in favour of Arsenal. This is why Osimhen is delaying, because it seems Lille are pressuring him to sign the deal. Osimhen isn't taking time to ponder the deal, but is delaying in the expectation of an form from the EPL.

Everton have already shown firm interest in the player and are expected to bid for him. Osimhen doesn't want to make the same mistake he made when he moved to Wolfsburg having been pressured.

Italian papers say that De Laurentiis wants to close the deal as soon as possible to avoid a mockery at the last moment as happened with Pépé. The Napoli fan base are becoming frustrated with Osimhen.
so oshimen will prefer Everton, Newcastle and other low epl teams to Napolihuh
