As the Federal Government plans prior to the reopening of airports across the country, the Minister of Aviation Hadi Sirika has disclosed that passengers on international flights may have to arrive at the airport five hours before their flight’s takeoff while those on local flights will need to be at the airport three hours before their flights take off.

The Minister who made this know during an inspection of the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja and Murtala Mohammed Airport in Lagos on Saturday June 27, stated that they are putting the necessary equipment in order to help passengers adapt efficiently to the new normal and ensure that everything is done on time.

Oyo state’s commissioner for youth development and sports, Seun Fakorede has made an announcement that he tested positive for the novel Coronavirus.

The 28-year-old commissioner disclosed this via a LinkedIn post he shared on Friday June 26. Fakorede who emphasized that the disease is not a death sentence, stated that he will remain in isolation in order not to spread the disease and will fight it victoriously.

Senator Jim Nwobodo, the Second Republic Governor of old Anambra State, has said that 2023 will be the turn of South East and no other region to produce a Nigerian President.

The Dubai police department has given reasons for arresting popular Nigerian Instagram celebrity, Raymond Abbas, popularly known as Hushpuppi.

Recall that Hushpuppi was nabbed in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, UAE on June 10.

Hushpuppi’s apprehenson became a success with the cooperation between INTERPOL and the Federal Bureau of Investigation over alleged fraud.

Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has reacted to the decision of the Lagos State Government to delay reopening of schools, churches and mosques.

MURIC Director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, in a statement released on Thursday, gave Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu a thumbs up on his decision to suspend the reopening of churches and mosques few days back.

The group emphasized that the number of COVID-19 cases were unfavourable for opening religious places stating that the state government took the right step.

Senate President Ahmad Lawan on Monday June 15, made it known that Nigeria records an amount of $29 billion loss yearly to irregular and poor power supply.

The Senate President who disclosed this as he made a declaration to open an investigative public hearing on a motion entitled: “Power Sector Recovery Plan and the Impact of Covid-19 Pandemic” which will be organised by the Senate Committee on Power in Abuja, revealed that about N1.8 trillion has been spent on power since 2015 with no tangible achievement in the sector.

Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation has reacted to the attack launched by the presidency on the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) over alleged insecurity in the Northern area of the country.

Recall that NEF Chairman, Prof. Ango Abdullahi, in a statement the group released on Sunday said that the insecurity situation in some northern states was an indication that President Muhammadu Buhari has “failed woefully” to protect Nigeria which is a constitutional duty.

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has given hints that students who are in their final year at Junior Secondary School Class, JSS 3, and Senior Secondary School, SS 3, would be prioritised ahead of the reopening of schools in the State.

Obaseki had earlier given directive that schools in Edo are to shut down in March as part of measures to contain the spread of the Covid-19.
