Madam Dora has been in the news recently for various reasons,it seems she enjoys the glare of camera. Or probably she has ambition for elective office, cause she has almost exhausted her slot of appointive office. The only person she has to compete with is Ojo Madueke, whose last appointment was in Yardua cabinet having transited from military regimes to OBJ government. Politics is our target at Geria today, it is the sim card registration that is going on. I heard it first from my father, my opinion was quite different I felt it is not legally right to be asked to register your simm card. Yesterday, again I saw some points at Ikeja where simm cards was being registered. Until I read this article in 234next.com, that I realised that this is the practice even in developed economy. As in, it guards against fraud. for complete story visit http://www.geria.net/2010/06/26/we-will-seize-mobile-phones-in-the-streets-dora-akunyili/ |
Though the business has started in earnest in a few countries it is still in infancy and has a huge potentials for so many reasons. We will be explaining a few in this article. A Nigeria financial institution FinBank has been experimenting with this idea, I wonder why they are not seeing it as a marketing strategy and a niche for them to dominate while others are still sleeping. They have introduced for quite a while a product called “Flash me cash” with recent advert in a major newspaper they intend to take it to a new level but I wonder whether they are walking the talk. I tried to use their online registration portal for these service they promised to send my password soon to my mobile phone it has been over 24hours I wonder what is their definition of soon. What is Mobile Money Transfer(MMT)? Its philosophy and the problem-solution based approach: I will be addressing this by itemizing my explanation under these topics 1.Under banked and un-banked: it is a fact that most of the cash in the world is outside the organised banking system which in away affect the economy or make it difficult for regulation. MMT will help with tracking these specialized type of fund. And any smart business person should be interested in doing business with people that have such funds. Even Bill Gate is not tapping this resource yet he has so much, most of his products are targeted at the educated. for complete article visit http://www.geria.net/2010/06/17/emerging-business-opportunity-in-nigeria-mobile-money-transfer/ |

The claim that the batteries used in a cellular phone can ignite gasoline seems specious(is not genuine), since cellular phone batteries are the same voltage as automobile batteries (12V D.C.) but deliver far less current. Likewise, the claim that a “cellular phone ringer uses more than 100 volts for excitation” is a curious artifact of the “regular” telephone era: cellular phones don’t have ringers; they produce audio tones that simulate the sound of a ringing telephone. for complete article visit http://www.geria.net/2010/06/07/can-a-ringing-mobile-phone-ignite-fuel/ please place your comment there, |
was coming from church yesterday 6/10.2010 when some one related a story about a guy who woke up one tragic morning as a result of lack of power from the national grid in Nigeria. Decided to start his generating set to do a few things before heading to his office. Unfortunately his phone rang and the next thing is “oro!oro!oro!” in Yoruba language it is a danger alarm. for complete article visit http://www.geria.net/2010/06/07/can-a-ringing-mobile-phone-ignite-fuel/ |
The easy with which doctors, nurses and pharmacist get a job, is a pointer to the fact that the harder it is to learn a skill the more lucrative and rewarding it is. A doctor or pharmacist spends between 7 to 10 years in the university which is not like so many other courses. Sometimes it costs a fortune to earn an MBA, no wonder company executives earn so much. Pudding Your resume does not have to be a story book, story books kind of resume are allowed only in the academic environment. It is a document emphasing your strengths and skills. So employing the service of a professional copy writer to do these will not be a waste of money. This is because anybody glancing through must be fascinated by the content thus staying glued to it. It could be page or two, remember most business executives usually have busy schedules. Or they might be considering 100s of such documents especially in this time of recession where almost half of the population is seeking for employment. In some countries including a picture may not be totally out of place, but in other countries like the US it is against employment ethics to paste your pictures on your resume. If you are not Agbani Darego I wonder why you will want your picture on those piece of document, Susan Boyle would not have dared while she was still in obscurity. So if it is not going to be to your advantage ignore the pictures. click this link for further reading. http://www.geria.net/2010/05/20/designing-a-killer-curriculum-vitae-cv/ |

Criminal hacker organizations are operating with increasing corporate-like efficiency, specialization and expertise, according to the FBI. From a business perspective, these criminal enterprises are highly productive and staffed by dedicated people willing to operate worldwide, around the clock “without holidays, weekends or vacations,” according to Steven Chabinsky, deputy assistant director in the FBI’s cyber division. “As a result, when an opportunity presents itself these criminals can start planning within hours.” “The cyber underground now consist of subject matter experts that can focus all their time and energy on improving their techniques, their goods and services,” Chabinsky told an audience today at the FOSE conference, a government IT trade show, held here. http://www.geria.net for more on this. |
Some BlackBerry users in North America and the United Kingdom experienced data outages on Monday and Tuesday on Wi-Fi-equipped BlackBerries when not connected to Wi-Fi, according to user groups and some US carriers. The problems appeared to have ended late yesterday, but Research in Motion (RIM) did not respond to inquiries or offer any immediate comments about the outage today. RIM has been criticised in the past for not reporting or explaining outages, although it did offer a fairly lengthy explanation for a December data outage related to a BlackBerry Messenger update. “Of all the RIM outages in recent years, the only one where they issued any official explanation was the December 23 one,” said Joe Sanders, a self-described “BlackBerry geek” who regularly communicates about BlackBerry matters with other users nationwide as a moderator on BlackBerryforum.com. He reported this week’s outage on the Data Outages forum. for complete article click this link http://www.geria.net |
If you use Opera browser on your phone or PC read this you might be in danger of hackers. Opera contested Secunia's initial report of the vulnerability, claiming that the bug is not a security issue because attackers would be able to only crash the browser, not gain control of the PC. After prompting from Secunia and further investigation, however, Opera conceded that the flaw might be exploitable. "In a 64-bit environment this would still crash, but in a 32-bit environment it , could potentially be used to move memory from one location to another without crashing, provided the specified length was not too long," said Opera spokesman Thomas Ford in an e-mail Monday. for full information click this link www.geria.net/rateisp/isp.htm YOU may the next victim |
