Politics › Re: Mobil, Relocate Your Headquarters To Akwa-Ibom Or… - Militant Group Warns by HydrogenForest: 1:28pm On Aug 19, 2016 |
Shymm3xx: You know my sentiment has always been consistent since after a year that I joined this forum and grasping what's going on in naij and the politics. I'm all for disintegration, confederation, regional government, federalism, and resource control.
However, the fact that some people are jealous of Lagos, despite the state itself not being healthy with the huge population it has to take from the other struggling states, is troubling. It's the smallest state in naij, yet about 1/8 of Nigeria's population live there. That's problematic since it gets less from the centre than most of the oil producing states, despite being the largest contributor by far to non-oil revenue.
So the relationship has to be symbiotic. If they want all oil companies to move to the SS - a fair deal would be for all SS folks in Lagos to move the other way, to help Lagos. Thus reducing the stress they're putting on the infrastructures there. Is that a fair deal? So then all Yorubas should also leave the SS back to the SW. That would be fair enough too. |

Akinrade should talk to Osinbajo.
It is such a shame that yorubas are now singing another song now that they are within the corridors of power.
They were the ones shouting and crying the loudest calling for restructuring but today, their VP says it is not necessary.
I smh. |

joborskill: [s]This is why you people will remain politically irrelevant if you don't have a change of mind. It took buhari yoruba's intervention to make him president after 3 tries. Yoruba's supported GEJ when Turai and the northern oligarchs refused to swear him in. Underestimate the influence of the yoruba's at your own peril. No need for name calling, we are here to make peace[/s] Yorubas did not do anything special, stop patronising them. Once the north is united, all they need is help from one region in the south which they got from the Yorubas and buhari became president. What the Yorubas did for Buhari last year the Igbos did same many years back with Shagari and you will not see us running around shouting 'Sophistication.' It could have also worked with the SE or SS so park well and stop being delusional. |

joborskill: How can we put an end to the incessant e-fights and supremacy battles between this two southern tribes?
I think it's time to make peace so we can unite and take over the leadership of this country. The north keeps dominating the south politically because they are united and they exploit the divisions in the south for their political benefits. Let's sheath our swords and embrace peace.
Yoruba and igbo rivalry on Nairaland ends today Are you not the one that said that Yorubas should apologise for refusing grazing bill? You said that Yorubas should gather and apologise to the fulani over the grazing bill issue. You asked Yorubas to offer the SW as large grazing field for fulani cattle. You are not the one to broker any peace, abeg swerve. If you are truly Yoruba then you are a big shame to them. |

Bammydele83: [s]We, Oodua Foundation, comprising Yoruba intellectuals, professionals, business leaders, government officials, and military officers, in countries across the world, are constrained to make our position absolutely clear about the noise by the Igbo resident refugees in the Yoruba kingdom of Lagos in Southwestern Nigeria.
As all Nigerians would testify, we Yoruba love to welcome and include foreigners into our land. For this reason, most folks fleeing from various difficult conditions in all parts of Nigeria choose our homeland in Southwestern Nigeria as their destination. Apart from the Igbo people, large numbers of other Nigerian nationals now reside in the Yoruba Southwest, with strong concentrations in Lagos.
With the exception of the Igbo, all the rest are civil and respectful in their relationships with other nationals and with their Yoruba hosts. Though most Igbo people in Lagos do settle down peacefully to raise their children and pursue their businesses, certain Igbo residents and e-rats attach a lot of value to being noisy, obstreperous and disruptive in society and on internet.
Refusing to be grateful for what they and their people are benefiting from Yorubaland, these ones choose to constitute themselves into constant pain and trouble. The Yoruba people of Lagos, and other Lagos residents from other parts of Nigeria, are becoming tired of having these prickly characters around us.
Out of respect for the majority of Igbo people who respect others and deserve to be respected, we will say no more than this: Very many Nigerians know the precolonial history of Igboland. No amount of panel-beating and polishing can change that.
Almost all Nigerians, and most informed people in the world, know the history of the Yoruba nation. No amount of distortion can change that.
We remind those Igbo who love to cause noise and tension in Lagos that you chose to come on your own, the people of Lagos did not invite you. The roads by which you came are still open. You are free to return home. We Yoruba are not causing disruption in your homeland; you have no right to continue to cause disruption in our homeland.[/s] Cowards!!!! Hausa okada riders drove you all from your homes in miles 12 and you could not do anything. They nurnt your houses/shops/cars and even burnt a celestial church right on yur own soil in this same Lagos and you have not written any long epistle to warn them? You should be ashamed of yourself. They killed yoruba children, burnt a yoruba man alive on the streets of this same Lagos and you could do nothing. Imagine a fellow yoruba man like you escaped with his life because he was able to speack hausa. So for yorubas to now survive in Lagos they have to learn hausa? Big shame unto you and your kaikain drinking oba akiolu. Your oba akiolu has not threatended to drown the hausa mallam but was splashing smelly black spit because of Igbos. Shame!!!! |

I cannot stop showing love and peace within me and in my heart for everyone irrespective of state of origin. This is what I am known for from time..
@pazienza and newibadan let peace reign in your hearts so that this thread will achieve it's purpose of unification. Last time I checked you only care about Anambra state and besides, your hatred for Abagworo is beyond measure. You stay on the sidelines watching these yorubas writing all sorts of rubbish about us and you do nothing.
