Tuition fee in all public universities in Nigeria is not yet up to N1m per Academic session. University of Ibadan is not even yet up to 500k.

Medical students use 6 academic session in school. This means averagely, no student spends up to N5m (including miscellaneous)

They spend more than that. Their textbooks are not cheap, first of all. Secondly, becoming a doctor does not end after six years. There are further paid exams they have to write as resident doctors before they become certified and also before they become consultants.

It's not a piece of cake as we are all looking at it from outside their profession.

First, no honourable man will tap a girl on her shoulder or anywhere! You use your voice to be excused. I was a lecturer in Nigeria and outside of Nigeria. The ones outside of the country would smile for any student doing a video or content and ask politely to pass. Sometimes they will wait. The ones in Nigeria treat people like they are cow. He seems the lectuer already went red with anger seeing a student doing a content video for no reason. That is why he listened to an insult to ask what was said like he was God. He drags a phone with the owner smh. If you don't want to appear on a video, why go through the video view? He is a rude lecturer and got what he deserves. While young people must learn how to be respectful, adults need to learn too and be emotionally balanced.

The biting is the outcome of the fight. Once there is a fight, any side wants to win. Nothing is fair in love and war! I am more concerned at the root cause and what led the conflict to degerate to the level of fighting. I find the lecturer culpable.

Hmmm! That, though, to me, is beyond not showing an elder respect. That is downright something else. Disrespect to me is snubbing the lecturer when you ought to say hello, laughing at your lecturer and making him/her feel embarrassed or making a derogatory remark to him/her; not tearing his clothes and biting off his flesh just because he probably messed with your phone.

As for the lecturer, he might have been wrong by tapping the girl (still don't feel so) but at least he didn't shout her down; neither did he angrily order her away from the faculty corridor.
There are so many places where one could choose to do a video in a big school -- especially a video that is not academic related -- and choosing a faculty corridor for such a cause shows how rather unserious the girl portrayed herself to be.
And with all due respect, there are some things that are acceptable here in this part of the world that might seem like a huge crime over there and there are issues that are big deals over here but count as non-issues outside the shores of Nigeria.

Personally, for me, you tap me from the back? You could be holding a knife. I most likely would have punched you in the face and then checked if you were not holding a knife. You tap from the front or you call out.
