Opening night At Churchill Downs

The Opening Night at Churchill Downs will take place on April 28, 2018. It’s an occasion of “Dress to Impress” where the ladies are encouraged to wear Part & Cocktail dress while Men are encouraged to wear a dress Shirt and Sharp Pants with Optional Tie. In the Opening Night at Churchill Downs, the ladies and gentlemen’s have fun with Derby look at Nighttime.

The Gates will open at 05:00 p.m. ET and the ticket price starts at $15 for General Admission.


Post Position Draw

On May 1, The Churchill Down will host to play the highly anticipated Post Position Draw for The Run For Roses 2018. The Post Position Draw is another most important part of Kentucky Derby Event. The Post Position Draw has an impact on Odds as there are certain stalls that produce the winner at a more consistent rate than other.

While the Draw hasn’t a major impact on to make or break the chances for horses, But Getting pinned on the Number 1 and Number 2 stall is Unlucky. Because the rail is just like an Obstacles for jockeys to find space to run. It’s also not ideal to get pinned at the number 20 position. As winner rarely comes from far outside.

Champions Day

Champions Day is a new event in Kentucky Derby 2018 and will take place for the first time at the Racetrack on May 01. It’s all about the celebration for the past winners and jockeys and the greatest moments in the sport’s history.

It’s an opportunity for the fans and visitors to meet famous Derby and Oaks winning Jockeys and Trainers. The Visitors can also purchase collectible posters for the Legendary Jockeys and Trainers to sign. The funds from those poster sales will benefit the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance.

Thurby or Thursday before Kentucky Derby is a celebration of all things in Kentucky Derby. The Thurby attract a lot of people and horse racing fans. The Thurby in Kentucky Derby 2018 will take place at Churchill Downs on Thursday, May 3.

On that day, You can also see the “Dawn at the Downs” Which is popular Tradition for the Louisvillians and for the fans as well. You can also see the contenders and Horses of 2018 Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks conduct morning workouts with expert’s commentary during the delicious buffet breakfast.

144th Kentucky Oaks 2018

The Kentucky Oaks is a grade I stack horse race for three-year-old Thoroughbred horses at a distance of 11⁄8 Mile at Churchill Downs racetrack. The Horses carry 121 pounds. The Kentucky Oaks held on the Friday before the Kentucky Derby each year since 1875 when Churchill Downs was known as “Louisville Jockey Club”.
