TV/Movies / Nollywood Actresses Semi-unclad On Movie Poster (photo) by IamDrock(m): 9:40am On Dec 19, 2013
Yeah yeah. I think i'm getting to like Nollywood cos we are totally getting more civilised whenever i watch Hollywood movies all i see is advancement and now i am seeing that in nollywood. I know most of you guys will criticize her or something but wanna tell ya its her decision and hers only. We shouldn't be doing everything in old fashioned way. Very soon i am expecting a real sex scene inside a nollywood movie. We should stop being hypocrites. Anybody who supports me?

Education / ASUU Strike: FG Paid Nigerian Lecturers 6 Months Salaries For Undone Work by IamDrock(m): 7:27am On Dec 19, 2013
Its being 6 months of heartbreaking expectation from both the Federal Govt and the Academic staff union of Nigerian Universities(ASSU). For 6months we have heard stories like the strike would “soon be over”, I think that statement has being overused and it needs to be.
Synonymous to both FG/ ASSU. Countless times have heard the statement for 6months, a statement which is so deceitful and hope shattering to Nigerians.
The FG/ASSU should outline as matter of being responsible and moral explain to students and Nigerians the cushion effect they both have placed on ground to avoid future occurrence and also explain what they have in pipeline for the lost academic months for them.
Reports just being confirmed now is that the ASSU members have started receiving salaries for work they did not do, 6months salaries are being paid to them for sitting at home in the name of “strike”.
What are the plans the both parties have for students now is the question.
Its very clear now that nobody is paying attention to what the lecturers would be doing in the classrooms when they eventually resume full by January 2014.The compulsory anyhow marking of script, lecture notes being photocopied without the lecturers coming to classes and all that.
What is the Federal Government putting in place to Monitor lecturers that are practically not always present in the classrooms? Now lecturers are all happy that their salaries have started downloading into their accounts, where does that leave the students?
What about wasted months of house rents, delayed graveyard, wasted efforts in staying glued at home. What about students that have lost their lives during the strike? Who is saying anything?
I think we as Nigerians should know that you can’t eat your cake and have it, but i think both parties FG/ASSU has just gotten away with their tussle, they are sure having drinks as am writing you this.
No one is making a public apology to parents/students for wasted months.

Politics / Nigeria’s 2015 Election Will Draw Global Attention - US by IamDrock(m): 6:35am On Dec 19, 2013
The United States of America said the 2015 general election in Nigeria will draw global attention and that the country would have an opportunity then to prove a model for all of Africa if the election was free, fair, and transparent.
Speaking with civil society experts in Abuja, the US Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) and member of President Barrack Obama’s Cabinet, Ambassador Samantha Power, noted that time had come for serious preparations for the poll.
She said: “Now is the time to lay the groundwork for the 2015 elections and civil society can play a big part in that by demanding fair campaign practices, raising voter awareness, and training to participate as poll observers.”
She said US Government noted with concern the irregularities in the last month’s gubernatorial election in Anambra State, especially as elections were coming up soon both in Ekiti and Osun states.
Power equally spoke about acts of terrorism in the country.
She said: “Tragically, we have both been targeted by terrorists. The brutality of the attacks against your people is shocking.
“In responding to these attacks, it is essential that we do so in consistent with the most fundamental of international human rights norms. The United States is concerned by some of the stories we hear of inhumane detention practices in Nigeria, and I have discussed those with officials here.
“Security crackdowns that do not discriminate between legitimate targets and innocent civilians are both counterproductive and wrong. We know how hard it is to fight insurgency and terrorism, but we have also seen how much more effective we are when we put the welfare of the local population at the heart of our efforts.
“I was pleased to hear President Jonathan’s announcement earlier this month of his development plan for the North-East. Efforts to fight poverty, create jobs, and respect the dignity and rights of all people would help lay a foundation for longer term progress.

Politics / News:fuel Scarcity Looms As Oil Workers Threaten Strike January by IamDrock(m): 2:21am On Dec 18, 2013
Nigeria may experience nationwide scarcity of petroleum products immediately after the yuletide if the threat to ground operations in the oil and gas sector beginning from January 1, 2014 is carried out by workers in the industry.
The workers, under the aegis of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria and the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Employees, on Tuesday declared that they would embark on strike from next year if the Federal Government fails to retract plans to privatise the nation’s four refineries.
This was disclosed during a peaceful protest held at the headquarters of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation in Abuja on Tuesday.
Speaking on behalf of the workers, the President, PENGASSAN, Mr. Babatunde Ogun, said the union had given the government a one-week ultimatum to halt its plan to sell the refineries to private investors.
He said, “If between now and December 24 we don’t hear anything from the government, we will mobilise, and between that time and the end of the year we will expect a retraction but if they fail to retract, then rest assured that in the first week of January all oil and gas workers in Nigeria will go on a total strike.”
On whether the unions had met with the Federal Government before coming out to make public its threat, he said series of agreements had been signed in the past and stressed that “the government cannot be trusted again with agreements.”
Ogun added, “Instead of selling our national asset, we should implement the Petroleum Industry Bill for it will give us a direction. The PIB has been in the National Assembly for years waiting to be passed, but up till now nothing meaningful has happened.”
He wondered why the minister of petroleum resources was quick to announce that the privatisation process would be completed before the end of the first quarter of next year while “it had taken the PIB six years to be passed.”
He said the Federal Government and the National Assembly was not serious about passing the bill and alleged that they were “systematically looking at the number of years remaining for President Goodluck Jonathan to complete his tenure and sell our national assets.”
He said, “They come out to tell Nigerians that we cannot work and cannot do business. If Nigerians cannot do anything properly, it means the Presidency and others in the Villa cannot govern Nigeria. So let us go and look for people to govern us.
