Celebrities / News: Popular Mods Sexkillz And Ogugua Resigns From Being A Mod On NL! by IamDrock(m): 11:00am On Dec 07, 2013
Actually i just saw this thread this morning about sexkillz and ogugua complaining about seun not letting the miss&mr nairaland contest make frontpage. And this issue has gotten intense that the seun ogugua and sexkillz have been exchanging words at themselves. It was later noticed by me that seun's behaviour is kinda harsh at these two mods. Sexkillz who is can be known to be the most popular and active on nairaland moderating the [ROMANCE,POLITICS&VIOLENCE&DISGUSTING SECTIONS] has tendered his resignation cos of seun's abusive talks and his non caring behaviour at his efforts on nairaland. And so also ogugua known to be sexkillz girlfriend moderating celebrities section has also resigned.
And seun has accepted their resignation ogugua have been removed from the celebrities section and sexkillz removed from the romance section but sexkillz is still active in the politics section.
But the latest fact i just got is that sexkillz and ogugua have deactivated their account. Even though most people hate sexkillz including me but i still do believe sexkillz is a good mod nairaland wont want to miss. Bye..
Mehn the thread was so interesting you can read the cause of their fight here: https://www.nairaland.com/1504035/miss-mr-nairaland-december-2013/5

Politics / Tragic: Bride, 7 Other People Who Went For Wedding Perish In Kano Auto Crash by IamDrock(m): 12:02am On Dec 03, 2013
It was a tragic end for a bride and 7 members of her entourage who lost their lives as the bride were being conveyed to her husband’s home in Azare, Bauchi south, in a Honda Civic that crashed into moving tanker.
Eyewitness account revealed that the incident occurred, Friday night, in Gaya, 65 kilometers from Southern Kano when the driver lost control at a diversion point and crashed into the tanker.
According to the witness “the accident occurred in Gaya on Kano-Maiduguri Federal highway around 7.05pm local time , by the time we got there we were confronted with lifeless bodies of 7 females and a male”.
The eyewitness revealed that “the police in Gaya conveyed the bodies to Gaya General Hospital.”

Late Paul Walker's friend and Fast & Furious co-star Tyrese visited the scene of the car crash today and was inconsolable. The actor and singer, who has been friends with Paul for the past thirteen years cried through out. He left a single yellow rose at the scene of the crash before leaving.
Paul Walker, 40, was the passenger in his friend's Porsche GT which spun out of control and hit a pole and tree, bursting into flames and killing both men yesterday afternoon November 30th.
TMZ reported earlier today that the county coroner revealed that the bodies of Walker and his friend Roger Rodas, 38, who was also his financial adviser, were so badly burned that they are currently unidentifiable.
The L.A. County Coroner has requested dental records for both victims before they can identify the bodies. Autopsies on both bodies have been delayed until later this week.

Politics / Edo State PDP To Pay Abused Widow N250,000 – Governor Oshiomhole Under Fire by IamDrock(m): 7:59am On Nov 30, 2013
PDP party members inEdo Statehave usedGovernor Adams Oshiomhole‘s misbehaviour to their advantage.
Days after thegovernor abused a poor widowfor hawking illegally inBenin city, an endowment fund has been set up for theoppressed widow.
The woman in the video has been invited toPDP secretariatinBenin cityto collect250,000 nairain order to relieve her of pain.
Here is an official letter from Edo state Peoples Democratic Party:
PDP ENDOWMENT FUND FOR OPPRESSED WIDOW
Edo PDP watched with consternation Governor Adams Oshiomhole’s brutal, inhuman and merciless treatment of a widow street-trader whose wares he ordered seized and who he unfeelingly told to ‘…go and die’ even as she knelt down in fervent protestations and appeals to his pity on a helpless widow.
The governor’s actions are appalling, insensate, disgraceful, indecent, cruel and below board. It is clear that he does not care much about the well being of the people as he pretentiously avowed. Our hearts go to that hapless widow in this her time of travails and through her, to other widows who have been oppressed by the unfriendly policies of the administration in Edo State.
The PDP, Edo State will not let any Edo person ‘to go and die’ if it can help it, especially not hardworking people like that widow who are engaged in lawful enterprises that are, in themselves, not easy to carry on.
To this end, our party has instituted an endowment fund for all widows and oppressed people in the state and by this release, we invite the widow captured in the video of the encounter with Governor Oshiomhole to come to the PDP Secretariat on No. 70, Sapele Road, at 11am on Tuesday December 3, 2013 to receive a first-installment sum of N250,000.00 to cushion the pain, trauma and loss occasioned by her mistreatment and the seizure of the items she sells.
Governance is about the people and as a responsible National Institution, Edo PDP cannot be unconcerned about the wrong treatment of indigenes of the state to whom the present administration promised heaven just to win their votes. We will continue to stand in the gap to ensure that Edo people are deservedly fairly treatment
If Governor Oshiomhole believes that Edo People sinned by voting him into office, let him remember that he will account for his actions, if not to the people because he apparently does not think much of them, but to God Almighty in the short or long run.
We thank all those who have been humanely concerned about the plight of the widow and have stood out vehemently against the crying shame that was the insensitive action of a governor who seems bent on repaying electoral favor with ingratitude.
Signed.
Chief Dan Osi Orbih
Chairman, PDP
Edo State.
Attention all widows in Edo state, PDP is giving away free money……make u organize sharp sharp.

Education / News:ASUU Cries Out: We Are Only Asking For Our Unpaid Salaries! by IamDrock(m): 7:48am On Nov 30, 2013
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) made a demand some few days ago and told The Federal Government that the Strike will be called-off if they agreed on their conditions. Unfortunately the F.G are not ready to comply and this has made ASUU to cry out that they need their Salaries.
ASUU are demanding among others, immediate payment of all outstanding salary arrears and allowances of members withheld during the strike. (4-months salaries, and if the strike is not call off soon, the F.G will have to pay them 5months.)
The Secretary of the University of Uyo, UNIUYO Branch of ASUU, Dr Aniekan Brown, debunked the claim that ASUU was making fresh demands.
“ASUU is not making fresh demands, ASUU is asking for the implementation of 2009 agreements.
“If any ASUU member says ASUU is making fresh demands, I doubt if that person is an ASUU member, that person is not informed,” Brown said.
ASUU is demanding among other things, immediate payment of all outstanding salary arrears and allowances of members withheld during the strike.
The union is also demanding a written commitment from the president that N225 billion will be committed to funding Universities annually for the next four years.
Meanwhile, The University of Nigeria, Unn has announced that they will resume academic activities if ASUU fails to comply with the Federal Government.
More Drama continues as we await for the Federal Government to either pay ASUU members their salaries or sack them come 4th December, 2013.

Politics / SEE Pastor Who Worships And Preaches With The Use Of Deadly Snakes[photos] by IamDrock(m): 8:04am On Nov 26, 2013

snake handling preacher has vowed to continue worshipping with deadly rattlesnakes despite the threat of jail - and being bitten four times. Andrew Hamblin, 22, is a pastor at the Tabernacle Church of God in the Appalachian mountains outside La Follette, Tennessee. The church is part of century-old Pentecostal tradition in the region that takes literally an instruction in the Gospel of Mark that 'they shall take up serpents.' But the defiant preacher faces up to a year in prison after being charged with illegally possessing 53 venomous snakes seized from his church by Tennessee wildlife agency officers earlier this month. Under the laws of the state anyone owning venomous snakes, even zoos and circuses, must apply for permits and comply with specific requirements to guarantee public safety. His devotion has left him crippled as he is unable to make a fist following a snakebite on the knuckle which almost killed him in 2010. 'I was at death's door,' he said. 'Me and death were just about ready to smoke a cigarette together.' He believes his recovery is a direct result of God's will and cites another serious bite - this time to the neck - sustained soon after as proof that he is protected from harm by his faith. The incident left his shirt soaked in blood but he says he escaped serious injury adding: 'I never swelled, I never itched, I never suffered nothing but bleeding.' And despite the physical threat and appearing in court Mr Hamblin has continued worship with the huge rattlesnakes thrust above his head after his followers helped smuggle in new creatures after the previous batch were confiscated. They claim that they are victims of a state crackdown after another preach Jamie Coots had two copperheads confiscated after being stopped while driving home through Tennessee earlier this year. During the raucous services, worshippers dance, bang tambourines, speak in tongues and handle the 3ft long animals believing that they are protected from danger by God. Speaking to the Telegraph he said: 'I'm willing to fight this, because here in the United States we're supposed to be guaranteed our religious freedom under the first amendment of the constitution. 'We're Christians who believe in being saved by the blood of Jesus Christ just like any other - it's not like we're part of some different religion. I do feel it is an attack upon our religious freedom.' Mr Hamblin said he was called on by God to handle the creatures, and that their appearances were shows of divine power. He has also likened the practice to 'Catholics using wine.' However these claims have been dismissed by authorities who maintain that the practices constiture a serious 'public safety hazard.' Matthew Cameron, a wildlife agency spokesman said: 'We treat him just as we would anyone else found to be storing venomous snakes in their home. The presence of children at the services, including Mr Hamblin's own five, only adds to safety concerns but Mr Hamblin maintains that only over 18s ever handle the reptiles. He added: 'I can understand not wanting to endanger another's life. That's perfectly understandable. But in 100 years, there have been only 10 deaths in Tennessee from serpents.' Despite this a number of pastors in recent years have met their demise because of their unorthodox methods of worship. Mack Wolford of West Virginia, who led one of the best-attended snake-handling churches out of an estimated 125 in the region, was killed by a timber rattlesnake in May last year. His own father, also a snake-handling preacher also died from a rattlesnake bit in the 1980s. But while dozens of his fellow pastors hold their services in secret and close their doors to outsiders, Mr Hamblin is determined to bring his sect into the mainstream and hopes to found America's first snake-handling mega-church. He is due back in court next month, and may face additional charges but refuses to stop the snakes, whatever the consequences.

Politics / ASUU Strike To Continue As Senate Terms FG Negotiations With ASUU‘null And Void’ by IamDrock(m): 2:04pm On Nov 19, 2013
Federal Government and Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU’s agreement implementation may have to be delayed following Senate Committee on Establishment and Public Service Matters’ assertion that the ongoing negotiations between the duo would be null and void without the input of National Wages and Salaries Commission.
The chairman of the commission, Aloysius Etok stated this during an oversight tour of the Commission.
He added that under no guise should the Federal Government negotiate salary or wage increase without the input of the relevant commission.
Etok attributed a good number of the incessant industrial actions in the country to sentimental negotiation for salary increase in the civil service.
“We have said this earlier that on no account should Federal Government negotiate salary increase or anything that has to do with wages or salaries without the input of the Commission,” he said.
“They should avoid the issue of sentimental increase or negotiation and there should be no exceptions. Four months is about a semester.”

Politics / REVEALED: Nigeria Now Producing Armoured Vehicles by IamDrock(m): 6:44am On Nov 10, 2013
As interest in armoured luxury cars rises among the upper class, some Nigerian auto firms have intensified research work on the armouring technology.
Already, an indigenous automobile manufacturer, Proforce Limited, has commenced the production of Armoured Personnel Carriers.
Proforce said it had sealed a pact with Defence Industries Corporation and some para-military organisations for the production.
The Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, is currently facing criticism for allegedly forcing the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority to buy two armoured cars for her.
Wealthy Nigerians and top public office holders import a number of armoured vehicles.
The Managing Director, Proforce, Mr. Ade Ogundeyin, said in a statement obtained on Friday that his firm was currently working with the Defence Industries on the APCs, just as he stressed it was equipped to armour other categories of vehicles.
He criticised the idea of importing armoured vehicles, saying it did not make economic sense for Nigerians to continue to import what was available locally.
“There is no need for government or anybody to import bulletproof or armoured vehicles. It is a waste of resources.
“Why import at very high cost when there is capacity to produce better vehicles at comparatively lower prices locally? This is an issue I hope the new auto policy will address.”
Ogundeyin said the armouring materials were resistant to AK-47 gunshots and assaults with improvised explosive devices, stressing that the vehicles would run on special flat tyres that could endure several kilometres of journey even when deflated.
The Proforce boss also expressed support for the recently developed auto plan, describing it as one of the best policies of the President Goodluck Jonathan administration.
He said if fully implemented, the document was capable of boosting industrial activities in the sector and contributing towards the achievement of government’s targets for the economy by 2020.
He aligned with the thrusts of the new auto policy, which were to encourage investment, enhance technological development and revive production activities in the industry.
Ogundeyin said, “This is a laudable plan which is capable of transforming the local industry. The impact will be felt in many ways, including the establishment of many small- and medium-scale support industries, job creation and increase in capacity utilisation.
“But a lot will depend on whether government has the will to fully implement the policy, especially the area that concerns their agencies or departments buying locally made vehicles. Another critical area that requires firm action on the side of government is the one that introduces stiffer tariff structure for fully built imported vehicles.”

Politics / ASUU Strike To Be Called Off Soon As Jonathan Offers To Give ASUU N1.1TRILLION by IamDrock(m): 7:14am On Nov 06, 2013
Details of the Monday/ Tuesday marathon meeting between President Goodluck Jonathan and the leadership of Academic Staff Union of Universities have begun to emerge.
NE gathered on Tuesday evening that a key component of the agreement reached by the parties was that the Federal Government would inject N1.1tn into public universities in the next five years.
A reliable source, who made this known, also hinted that the strike would be called off anytime next week.
He said the government team which was led by President Goodluck Jonathan would release N220bn yearly into the sector beginning from 2014.
The source added, “The meeting should be the longest that we have ever had on this crisis but I can tell you that both parties were frank all through the discussions.
“The parties also showed commitment towards ending the crisis. The President in particular showed that he was serious about ending the strike and that was why he offered to release over N1tn to the universities in the next five years.
“The money will be released on a yearly basis at N220bn per annum beginning from 2014. For the outgoing year, the government will only release N100bn and this has been processed.”
He said that the government, in order to show its commitment to a fresh pact, accepted that “the fund(N1.1tn) should domiciled at the Central Bank of Nigeria”
“The money will be released on a quarterly basis to the universities. So, there won’t be any problem about funding the deal,” the source said.
The National Universities Commission and the Trade Union Congress, according to him, will be the joint guarantors of the agreement while the Minister of Education will be the implementation officer.
The source also said that the government agreed among other things, to revamp the public universities by ensuring that all those issues that always led to strike were dealt with once and for all.
It was learnt that the negotiating team of ASUU led by Dr. Nassir Faggae met on Tuesday night to further deliberate on the deal.
Though the details of the meeting were not known as of 11.22pm on Tuesday, it was gathered that ASUU might call a National Executive Council meeting on or before Saturday where the deal would be tabled before all its branch executives.
Jonathan had while shaking hands with Fagge after the marathon meeting in the Presidential Villa, Abuja said, “My President, I hope it (strike) will end today(Tuesday). Our children have suffered enough. We must find a solution.”
All those in attendance responded with a loud “Amen.”
When greeting Omar, he said, “My President with you around, there will be no problem; our agreement is signed, sealed and delivered.”.
Faggae told State House correspondent on his way out of the Villa, that his team would take back a message to varsity teachers before a decision would be taken on the next line of action.
“We had a lengthy meeting with Mr. President, and we looked into how best to address the problem of university education in this country. We now have a message from Mr. President that we are going to take to our members and we are expecting that our members will respond appropriately to his message,” he said.
Fagge added that since the message was meant for members, he would not divulge it to the press.
When asked whether university teachers would be called upon to return to the classrooms, he said that the decision was left for them to take.
When further asked if he was impressed by the President’s message, Faggae cautioned journalists against putting words in his mouth, insisting that only ASUU members would determine that.
The Minister of Labour, Chief Emeka Wogu, who listened to Faggae’s encounter with journalists, later said progress was made during the discussion.
He said, “We made progress. The President of ASUU told you that they are going back with a message from the Federal Government back to their members and the message is full of high expectation and hope.”
When asked whether ASUU would call off the strike, Wogu said that was why he described the message as full of expectation.
“Our prayer is that they will come back with positive outcome. They might even not come back to meet us. They might take decision there that will meet your expectations “ he said. He added that the offers made by the government during the meeting were those that were in line with the contentious
2009 agreement.
He said since the issues that led to the strike bordered on the 2009 agreement, the government did not go beyond the pact.
The President was joined at the meeting that started at 2.40pm on Monday by Vice-President Namadi Sambo; Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim; the Supervising Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike; Wogu among others.

Music/Radio / Wande Coal's "Baby Face" Beat Maker Shizzi Speaks Out On The Stolen Song by IamDrock(m): 10:34pm On Nov 05, 2013

Top music producer,Sheyi'Shizzi'Akerele, who produced Wande Coal's version of the controversial
song 'Baby Face', which Don Jazzy says was stolen from him, has released a statement explaining his involvement in the whole issue. He mentions that he produced Wande's hit song 'Go Low' which he never got credit for. See his statement below...
I have heard and seen some folks rants about me stealing production credit for Wande Coal's new single "Baby Face" and I would like to clarify this issue. I was only doing my job by making the beat for Wande and that's what I did. I don't see any reason why people should jump into quick conclusions without taking their time to really dig into the matter for facts.
Two years back, I remember I created a demo for Wande Coal's "Shawty Go Low" and someone else took the credits. I was in shock because I had plans to finish the song with Wande and was hoping it would be released as a single which I produced. Here is the link to the original version of "Go Low"
