A South African High Court has upheld the conviction of a Nigerian man, Chinedu Justice Obasi, who bagged 18 years in prison for human trafficking and fraudulent marriage.
Obasi, convicted in 2017 and sentenced in 2018, was found guilty of harbouring women for prostitution in Pretoria and marrying a South African woman in a sham union to secure residency.
His brother, Obioma Benjamin Abba, is already serving 12 years for his role.
Court papers revealed how Obasi kept two women, identified as Busisiwe and Puleng under his control, forcing them into prostitution, seizing their earnings, and even feeding them drugs to ensure dependency. The victims were constantly monitored and only allowed outside to work.
The marriage charge dated back to 2005 when Obasi wedded a South African citizen without living together as a couple, purely to legalise his stay in the country.
Justice Graham Moshoana, who dismissed Obasi’s appeal, said the evidence was clear and branded the case “modern-day slavery.”
“Human trafficking exists because people are vulnerable to exploitation due to poverty, lack of education and desperation,” the judge declared.
Obasi will now serve his full 18-year sentence behind bars.. https://pmnewsnigeria.com/2025/08/28/nigerian-man-loses-appeal-to-rot-in-south-african-jail/

Your voice starts and ends at your migrant Igala village and stop sewing seed of discourd among Igbos like your Igala forefathers. The other day you were whipped to submission by an Awka man after you claimed to have conquered and ruled Awka in the past. Be careful! Imo and Anambra are mere creations and like I always stated, the people that occupy the central Igbo area are one irrespective of States they've found themselves.

Politics › ‘Elections Not Won On Social Media’ — Sani Mocks Opposition After By-Election by iamfraud(op): 9:39am On Aug 19, 2025 |
Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna state, has cautioned politicians against relying on social media propaganda to win elections.Speaking on Monday at a stakeholders’ meeting after the All Progressives Congress (APC) won two state constituencies and a federal constituency in Saturday’s by-elections in Kaduna, Sani said political victories are secured through grassroots mobilisation and good governance, not online battles.
The governor criticised opposition parties for focusing on “Twitter (X) battles and Facebook noise”, adding that the APC’s emphasis on inclusivity and people-centred policies gave it an edge at the polls.
“There is no ballot box on Twitter. There is no ballot box on Instagram or Facebook. Elections are won at the grassroots, not on social media,” he said.
“Our opponents chose to fight the propaganda battle, but we chose to fight the political battle. They lost because the people know who is working for them. We will not waste our time on social media noisemaking.”
Sani described the victory as historic, noting that some communities in the state supported the APC for the first time since 1999.
He attributed the feat to his administration’s investment in economic development, rural empowerment, and agriculture.
“Since 1999, some communities had never voted for our party. But today, they stood with us because they saw inclusivity in action. We made a pledge to defend everyone, irrespective of religion, ethnicity, or party affiliation—and we kept it,” he said.
Highlighting agricultural reforms, the governor said over 500,000 hectares of farmlands previously abandoned due to insecurity had been reclaimed, making Kaduna a leading producer of maize, tomatoes, and ginger.
Sani urged party executives to stay connected to the grassroots, stressing that the APC’s sustainability in 2027 depends on adherence to its manifesto and continued people-centred governance.
“Party first, politics second. Let us not forget our manifesto. Let us not abandon our wards and local governments. If we remain with the people, no party can defeat us,” he said.
Emmanuel Jekada, APC chairman in Kaduna, commended Sani’s leadership style and praised stakeholders for their role in the party’s victory.
Jekada expressed confidence that unity within the party would consolidate its chances in the 2027 elections. https://www.thecable.ng/elections-are-not-won-on-social-media-uba-sani-mocks-opposition-after-by-election-victory/

Apology Video: King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, AKA K1 De Ultimate, Is 1000 times the man that Peter Obi is!
I condemn King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, AKA K1 De Ultimate's actions at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, where he had a run-in with ValueJet, and I support the sanctions the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority placed on him.
Having said that, I must also commend King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall's act of accountability in taking responsibility for his actions and apologising to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the nation within 48 hours of the incident.
To err is weakness, and to continue in your error is wickedness. K1 De Ultimate showed that he, like all humans, is weak. However, he demonstrated that though he may be weak, he is not wicked.
Therefore, I urge that, within the ambit of the law, justice should be tempered on him with mercy.
I compare his behaviour to that of the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the #NigerianElections2023, Mr. Peter Obi, who was caught red-handed in a leaked audio threatening to unleash "Religious War" on the Muslim Ummah.
To date, Mr. Peter Obi has neither admitted what we all know, that he is the one on that leaked 'Yes Daddy' tape, nor apologised to the nation and specifically to the Muslim Ummah.
A man, like Peter Obi, who cannot admit his error when he is not in power, will definitely commit terror when in power!
It takes courage to do what K1 De Ultimate did—courage that Peter Obi obviously does not have. That is why I salute King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall and continue to respect him. Reno Omokri Tableshaker Ruffler of the Feathers of Obidents. |

Forty-eight hours after the kidnapping and brutal murder of Ifesinachi Onyekere, popularly known as Fish Magnet, Peter Obi has still not said a word!
Please fact-check me: It took Peter Obi four hours to respond to the Utomi killings. It took him six hours to react to the burning of Deborah Samuels. It took him eight hours to release a statement on the killings of soldiers in Okuoma, Delta State. And Peter Obi condemned the Yelewata massacre immediately.
But once the killings occur in Igboland, Peter Obi suddenly goes deaf, blind, and dumb.
It is part of his regular trademark. Peter Obi will chop and clean his mouth if it occurs in the Southeast. But if it happens in the North or Southwest, Obi will dance naked in public.
Or am I lying?
Dr. Okafor Emmanuel's car was vandalised in Lagos, and Obidients trended 'Lagos is not safe'. Ifesinachi Onyekere is kidnapped and murdered, but nobody has trended 'Anambra is not safe'. Why the different reactions?
By the way, I have one question for Obidients. Why is it okay with you for Peter Obi to attack and criticise President Tinubu daily, but you do not want anyone to counter your Peter Obi? Are you sure you guys have sufficient emotional intelligence required to practice democracy?
