British Olympic diver Tom Daley has announced that he is expecting a baby with his husband, US film director Dustin Lance Black.

The gay couple, got married last year. They showed off the baby scan on Instagram.

A spokesman for Daley said: “Tom and Dustin are thrilled to share that they are expecting their first child in 2018.”

On Wednesday, Daley posted his message with a black and white image from the baby scan. He captioned it: “Happy Valentine’s Day!”

Black posted another photograph on Twitter.

“A very happy Valentine’s Day from ours to yours,” he wrote with a family emoji.

Diving champion, Tom Daley is 23 years old, and his filmmaker husband, 43. Tom Daley won bronze medals at the Olympic Games in London and Rio de Janeiro.

Tom Daley revealed he was gay and had a boyfriend in a YouTube video in 2013 and 2 years later, the couple announced their engagement.

In 2017, Tom spoke about wanting children. He told the Daily Mirror:

“We’re not planning to have children immediately, but we do want them in the future.”

“I’ve always been a family person so I’ve always wanted kids, and I know Lance does, too. I don’t know how many – an army of kids, a whole diving team. We’re both lucky to have supportive families, and we want to share that with our own children.”’

Daley’s mum Debbie Daley said she was “delighted” at the news.

A resident of Igando community, Lagos was rescued by the officials of the Lagos State Fire Service after falling inside the well he was working in.

According to the officials of the Lagos State Fire Service, the victim identified as Billiaminu Abdullahi was rescued from the well at about 2:00 pm after he fell inside the well.

The victim, a local artisan was engaged to dig the well and in the process, slipped and fell inside the well and got trapped.

According to Insidemainland, speaking on the incident, the Public Affairs Officer of the Fire Service, Bola Ajao, while confirming the rescue operations, stated that Officers of the Fire Service responded to the distress call at about 2:00 pm from the Ikotun Fire Service Station.

Ajao stressed that the agency promptly mobilized to the scene to rescue the victim who was already battling for his life inside the well.

He noted that the men were able to rescue the victim even as it was almost impossible, considering the depth of the well and the trapping of the victim by materials inside the well.

Ajao said “Our team, led by SF Taiwo got to the scene after the distress call and with the availability of modern equipments and timely deployment of these equipments, were able to save the man from the brink of death in a nine-minute operation”,

He was taken to the General Hospital, Igando, Lagos Mainland, for medical attention.

Nigerian singer Simi, who has come under fans’ fire severally for one raunchy dressing or the other, has reached out to her fans who can’t seem to stop condemning her dress sense, telling them her music is more important to her than her dressing.

The singer made this response via an interview session with PUNCH NG where she categorically stated that her music is her focus and every other thing is secondary and should not be a big deal like fans seem to make it. In her words;

“I believe that everybody is entitled to their opinions. Some people may say that they don’t like my dress, shoes or any other thing. DJ Cuppy, Femi Otedola’s daughter said she doesn’t use her father’s influence to get things done like Davido does. She implied that people would believe that since her father is rich and influential, she would always have her way.

A video of a two year, 11 month-old pupil of Chrisland School, Lekki, Lagos portraying her alleged serial defilement by the school supervisor, 47-year-old Mr Adegboyega Adenekan, was played today at the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court.

According to The Nation , the video was played during the testimony of Miss Olive Ogedengbe, a clinical psychologist, at the trial of Adenekan over defilement of a child.

The video recording (Exhibit A1), depicted the child, named Child X, in the clinical psychologist’s office on Nov. 28, 2016 answering questions about the alleged defilement by her school supervisor from Ogedengbe and her colleague.

In the recording, Child X was given a sheet of paper and asked to draw the private part of Adenekan, which she did as well as another image with the ensuing questions.

”The mother came into my office with a referral letter from the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team (DSVRT) and narrated the story and she started crying. She (the mother) said she did not know the reason why this was happening to her. She said she was usually over protective of her children and follows them everywhere except school. She said somebody in her church handed her a book on sexual education for children which she read and decided to practice it on her child. That was when the child disclosed that she has been defiled. She told her mother that Mr Adenekan comes to take her out of the class and shows her some videos that are sexually stimulating. She pleaded with us to help to correct the psyche of her child. I carried out an independent psychological evaluation on the child. I asked the mother to sit at the corner of the room and myself and my colleague interacted with the child. We did not directly start interrogating the child as that was against the ethics of our profession. We started an initial interaction with the child to make her relax and gain her trust. When our trust was gained by the child and she was in a happy frame of mind, I asked the child:”who touched your wee wee?” and the child repeated on several times `Mr Adenekan’. I was shocked because I did not expect it from a child her age. I brought out my assessment sheet and I told the child to draw any person that comes to her mind. She restlessly started jumping around “Mr Adenekan is on my mind” we got her back to being settled but she continued talking without yet drawing. She (Child X) said “Mr Adenekan said it is good for a child to put her wee wee in Mr Adenekan’s wee wee” at that point in time we decided to do a recording to ensure her story remains consistent. We asked her how does Mr Adenekan’s wee wee look like and she demonstrated playfully by pointing her finger upwards stating “sharpener”.

“We asked sharpener or pencil? She stated `sharpener.’

We told her to draw the school supervisor, Mr Adenekan’s wee wee. We want to see what it looks like.

“To my greatest shock and surprise, for a two-year-old child, she drew a picture which symbolises a reproductive organ of a man in the form of a penis.

“I then asked her, show me your wee wee, she pointed at her private part. I asked her to show me where Mr Adenekan’s wee wee is and she pointed at the lower region of her private part. By then the child was again getting very restless and she ran to her mother who was at the corner of the room. We still wanted to hear more but she was playfully running around and her mother started probing her: “Is it only you he comes around to take out of the class” and she replied no. The child said it was herself and her friend (name withheld) so her mother asked her to show us what he normally does with her friend.”The child said he kisses her bum bum and he licks her bum bum, the child demonstrated by using a puppy in the room. That was the end of the first interview with the child.”

Ogedengbe during her lengthy testimony said from her evaluation, the mother and Child X needed psychological help.

She said:

”Afterwards, I decided to confirm from the mother if the child was exhibiting any symptom of psychological abuse. I asked the mother if she observed any strange behaviour in the child and the mother said yes. I had asked because I noticed in the course of interacting with the child that the child was occasionally aggressive. The mother confirmed this and also stated that the child had sleep problems and had been having nightmares.”She also complained of sexual inappropriate behaviour from the child and that after the incident the child became curious to see naked bodies of people. From my findings I found the child exhibited aggressive behaviour, inappropriate sexual behaviour, sleeping problems and fear. After the interaction, myself and my colleague realised that the child and mother needed help. The mother also exhibited signs of post-traumatic stress disorder. We decided to do an intervention and we held two more sessions of psycho-social intervention for the mother and the mother was counselled on how to help and assist the child.”

While being cross-examined by Mr Olatunde Adejuyigbe (SAN), Ogedengbe said that Child X was not tutored on what to say during the interview by either her or Child X’s mother.

“We used projective techniques in which a client projects their subconscious minds on paper.”

The clinical psychologist revealed to Adejuyigbe that she visited the mother of Child X’s friend who was also allegedly sexually assaulted by Adenekan.

“We saw the mother of the child’s friend but she was not willing to get involved in the case because of stigma,” she said.

Ogedengbe also added that she did not interview the staff of Chrisland School, Child X’s father and her older sister. The clinical psychologist also insisted that the child was of above average intelligence.

“Children 0-5 years, are usually not able to form full sentences, the child could string meaningful sentences. In drawing a picture, most children her age do not draw meaningful drawings but she did. I have worked with children her age from diverse sections of society and she is of above average intelligence,” she said.

On re-examination by Boye, the prosecutor, Ogedengbe insisted that the child was not tutored.

“If a child is being brainwashed or tutored, the child won’t be consistent in answering several questions. You will see it in her non-verbal behaviour that she was tutored, there would be no flow of conversation, this child was not tutored,” the clinical psychologist said.

Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011 prescribes a life sentence for the offence of defilement of a child.

Justice Sybil Nwaka adjourned the case till March 21 for continuation of trial

Nigerian man, Paul Akinnuoye stabs 19-year-old boy to death over WhatsApp Chat
For getting into an argument after Ice City Boys, members of a Whatsapp group, commented on Donnell Jones being in a new relationship with a girl called Fifi, a 20-year-old Nigerian man identified as Paul Akinnuoye, reportedly stabbed a 19-year-old boy identified as John Wright to death.

According to sources late John Wright was arguing who who was least gay in the Whatsapp group. It was gathered that John slammed Akinnuoye for being on Jones’ “dick”, while the later argued about being straighter than John.

“You are on his dick,” Wright told Akinnuoye after which he called him a “batty boy”.

Akinnuoye replied: “On your mum’s life I’m straighter than you.”

Metro reported that the duo arranged a fight meeting at a chicken shop in Blackheath, south east London on April 19 last year along with three others.

It was gathered that by 5.20pm they were suggesting places to meet for a fight, and settled on Shooters Hill Road.

In another group chat, Mr Wright said it would be a ‘fist fight ting’ and said he would not bring a ‘shank’. He said: ‘I didn’t get a nank, my mum is in, she will notice the knives are gone.’

However as the five made their way to a nearby park, Mr John Wright, was fatally stabbed, prosecutors said, before he collapsed near the junction of Begbie Road and Hervey Road at about 8.10pm. Prosecutor Tony Badenoch QC said: ‘At around 5pm an argument breaks out between this defendant and Jordan Wright.

The prosecutor said: ‘This petty argument as I am going to describe it, appears to have its genesis within the members of the group commenting on Donnell Jones being in a new relationship with a girl called Fifi. ‘Jordan Wright told the defendant: ‘You are on his dick”

The Police prosecutor went further to tell the court, that when Paul Akinnuoye was arrested, he denied being there when the incident occurred.

An accident which occurred yesterday morning shortly after a campus shuttle conveying students to their respective departments in Ambrose Ali University , Ekpoma, Edo State left the bus park near the school gate, claimed the life of a student.

One of the students identified as Ebere Omah died on the spot of the accident, when an eighteen seater bus somersaulted shortly after taking off.

Other students who sustained injuries were taken to Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital for treatment.

Confirming the incident, Edo State Commissioner of Police, Johnson Kokumo, said a female student died in the crash.

“A female student died . Two are currently at the Irrua Specialist Hospital and one is at a private hospital” he said.

Friends of late Ebere Omah have all taken to social media to write tributes to her. May her soul rest in peace …

2-year-old girl, Wynter Parker found frozen to death after she wandered out
A toddler froze to death while playing on her front porch in Ohio. Wynter Parker, two, was found unconscious outside her home by her mother who then called the police on Friday.

The little girl was without a coat, hat or gloves in the freezing temperatures that fell between 12 to 19 degrees Fahrenheit in Akron, Ohio.

The mother said to police that she left the child with the father while she ran errands. However, the father, who works night shifts, fell asleep.

She said she was absent for about two hours, during which the little girl wandered outside of the home.

When the mother returned at 3:30pm she found the child unresponsive on the porch and called police, who then instructed her on how to perform CPR on the child.

‘You’re gonna carefully tilt the head back, you’re gonna pinch her nose closed and completely cover her mouth with your mouth and then blow two regular breaths into the lungs,’ police instructed.

The child was taken to Akron Children’s Hospital where she died. Parker suffered severe hypothermia, according to the medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy is scheduled to determine official cause of death.

Neighbors of the Doty Drive home said they often saw the two children of the home, a girl and a boy, playing outside without parent supervision.

‘I’ve had to take the baby home ’cause she’ll be outside playing. It was a few times that I had to take both of her kids home,’ neighbor Crystal Lucas said.

Actress Eucharia Anunobi who lost her only son Joshua Ekwu to sickle cell anemia in 2017 said cooking has lost its joy because he is not there to ask all those questions.

Eucharia Anunobi, who said being a single mother was not a deliberate decision in an interview 2 years ago, said;

“It was not a deliberate choice that I have made. It came by chance, it came by mistake. God does not kill His children who have made mistakes. He would rather sustain them and tell them that He is the owner of all things. The Lord has been sustaining me as a single parent. I don’t think about it, all I know is, ‘God, you are the one that created me and the child that you gave to me’. So whatever that is needed of me, it was a wrong choice that I made.

On whether she has made any attempt to reconcile with the father of her son, she said:

“When somebody says that I do not want to be a responsible father, what do you do? You don’t take a horse to the river and force it to drink.”
