Egusi soup takes its name from egusi also known as melon that both thicken and flavor it. Egusi soup typically features meat (such as beef, smoked poultry, goat, cow skin, and seafood (smoked dried fish or stockfish)

The ingredients use for this recipe are:

1 cup of palm oil
Blended scotch bonnet, red bell pepper, and onion
1 small onion ( to fry the oil)
Protein ( smoked turkey, beef, fish, cow skin, crayfish powder, shaki and ponmo also know as cow skin.
