oladele239: It'll discharge minimally if input is not equal to output nothing is coming into input when it has reached charge limit and output is 129w. Input was 349 before reaching charge limit. No input is coming into it. The charge limit here is 95%. It stopped charging when it got there and started discharging and there’s no input

oladele239: Your explanation is not clear Is the power station in use as you're charging it If your input and input have minor difference then it won't charge
For example is your output is about 250 watts and your input is let's say 230 watts , it won't charge until your battery depletes a bit I was charging and using. The battery got full with solar charging and it stopped inputting from the solar because of the charge limit . Do i have to keep charging and discharging? |

My Ecoflow Delta 2 has stopped charging after it became full with the solar. I guess it’s because of the charge limit. Does it have to discharge before I charge it again as it’s currently not receiving any input |

Babatundehy: Stopped writing on here for a while when I found this, I couldn't keep writing and encouraging people to buy a brand which a certain model has been reported to stop working by many people, as a result of a failed firmware update. Was so glad to know the unit was replaced, moving forward, I'll advise to not have Ecoflow power stations, especially the delta family connected to the internet. What good could come from the update? No update is going to make your power station charge faster, or increase its battery capacity, the Bluetooth connection is just enough. My power station has not been connected to the internet for weeks now, and it'll remain so permanently, having learned updates could crash the system, before all of this ,I had stopped getting the power station connected to my home WiFi, one day I was using a tool to check traffic from my devices (routine check) then I confirmed the power station was uploading files, these files were most likely usage logs and such, but I wasn't comfortable with that, no permission requested so. This could be a way to actually track the number of times you have cycled the batteries in your power station ( so you can't lie about this when you need the warranty to work for you), and I'm certain Ecoflow could shut down any power station remotely, advanced connectivity and privacy they say are mutually exclusive, well, it is what it is, but i don't like it, kicked it off my home internet, turns out it was a good move for other reasons. How do I kick off the Delta 2 from the internet? It is permanently connected here. Is there a way to reset? |

Hydronium: Lol. My 250L freezer consumes 200W minimum. I seem comfortable with it for now though. You can only probably use it during the day with solar if you use a Delta 2 or it will die in about 3-4 hours. My fridge which is non inverter is 90-100w. Those inverter fridges or refrigerators are the real deal. They can last over 15 hours with the delta 2 |

twosquare: Okay then. But you will need more than 3 meters. Mine was barely enough. Yeah I figured. That’s where the solar extension cable comes in right? And that’s all i need right? |
Phones › Re: I Bought This Powerbank For 1.2 Million Naira PHOTOS by iamlammy(m): 2:46pm On Jan 07, 2025 |
twosquare: Well, I don't know how to explain it but I use the same changeover I use for my gen for my D2. I posted pictures for iamlammy. I didn't do another changeover. The thing is to pull it down from nepa to gen, fix bulb to it to know when grid light is back, just as I normally do, before turning on my D2 AC and switching it box to ON.
Secondly, I don't know who uses generator and D2 at the same time? That's really strange to hear.
I use my D2 like I did the generator. What I only added to it was the mouth for AC. Ordered for the Jinko 555w from Fuoani and the 3m mc4 connector from Temu. I’ll figure out how long the solar extension cable will be when they arrive |
Phones › Re: I Bought This Powerbank For 1.2 Million Naira PHOTOS by iamlammy(m): 11:27am On Jan 07, 2025 |
Hydronium: You need an MC4 to xt-60 connector. Then changeover (s). The exact length of cable can only be determined by you or you enlist the services of an electrician.
If you don't know how to mount the solar panel, I'd suggest you enlist the help of a specialist once and for all. Mounting the panel and fixing the changeovers are really the only 'technical' part of the work.
If you have an existing generator changeover, you can modify it for your Delta 2. If you intend to use your generator from time to time, you may need a new changeover (its possible to use the old one, but you need to observe a few rules).
If you find any of the above technical, please enlist the services of a technician. Better safe than sorry.
P. S. Below is a pix of the MC4 to Xt60 connector Can i order the 3m MC4 to xt-60 connector from the temu link dropped here? Also why do i need to modify the generator changeover if the plug is working and the wire is connected to the main grid of the house? I’ll probably get a specialist to help mount the solar and do the connections. Do i have to order the solar extension cable online or its something the specialist can get for me after getting necessary measurements? I wanted to get all materials needed from my end for the specialist. That’s why I’m asking |

oladele239: @iamlammy
How long is your set up going to be That will determine the length of the extension cable you'd need.
In my case I required about 12-15 metres , I got a good bargain on Jumia ( got a powmr extension cable - 15m 10awg for 61k came with an MC4 connector already fixed in ). No cheaper bargain for that length even on Temu or AliExpress.
Then you need to get an xt60 to mc4 connector ( I got a 1.5m 12 awg ) from temu for about 11k. If I had seen post earlier may be I'd have ordered 3 to fulfil temus minimum order of 30k for me. I ordered one for myself and one for a friend.
My setup is about 70% complete , just the connector I'm waiting for from temu. You can buy from a seller on Jiji if you don't have the luxury of time but I doubt if that's 12awg and the price is even like X3 of Temu.
I have advocated for a WhatsApp group for us where we can have issues of ecoflow power stations discussed first hand. No be everytime person dey come nairaland abeg. Even oyinbo pple get Facebook and WhatsApp forums for this power stations especially ecoflow.
Plus if you're ordering the panel on foauni, please don't waste time. That 555 watts is hot cake , it gets out of stock really fast. I was always on the look out to buy from them but got tired of waiting and bought an Eastman somewhere else although it was available at that same place but I preferred Eastman. Alas they restocked the very night I bought the Eastman lol I am really confused about the setup. I’m new to all these and I don’t know the length of the cable i’ll need. twosquare: I will send you a picture of how I did mine when I get home.
Yes, you can go for the 600 if you have the money. However, know that the D2 input limit is 500 watts. Other wattage will be a waste when you do, but based on effiency output, you can go for it. Just ensure it's within amps and voltage recommendations. Alright thank you. I’ll really appreciate. I’ll probably get the 555w from Fuoani to avoid issues. Was the solar panel delivered to your home from Fuoani? Or you had to go pick up? |

Would you advise I get the 600w Jinko panel instead of the 555w since the 555w max is 350w for now or it doesn’t matter? Also, can i not connect my generator plug to the powerstation directly? Since its already connected to the house?? twosquare: Power station should be full by mid day, depending on the weather. As sunlight and clear day increases, charging time reduces.
Yes, you need the solar panel, mc4 connectors, and wire to connect it to the household main like you do with your generator.
Mc4 connectors are also available on Jumia but I used Temu because of cheaper price and different length sizes available.
Panel was ordered from Fouani store. That's it. |
Phones › Re: I Bought This Powerbank For 1.2 Million Naira PHOTOS by iamlammy(m): 1:19pm On Jan 06, 2025 |
Hydronium: D2 uses a maximum charging power of 500W. To achieve this, you may need to overpanel, that is, increase your panel setup to at least 700W so that you can always get 500W. However, since your running load is constantly 400W, the chances of charging up your D2 from 0 to 100% from morning to night is very slim. You may need to depend on grid supply from time to time. Or gasoline generator. Noted thanks |
Phones › Re: I Bought This Powerbank For 1.2 Million Naira PHOTOS by iamlammy(m): 1:18pm On Jan 06, 2025 |
twosquare: Well, I will advise you to allow the battery to hit 100% before using it on a 400-watt consistent load. By 8 am, it is already receiving solar power, and input increases with time.
Now, let's assume the input is 350 watts (peak) based on this harmattan weather, so minus the 400 watts, and that gives us 50 watts that will run on your battery. Note that power input often drops to 250+ as the sun goes down gradually at sunset.
Anyway, your battery will likely be stuck at 97% in the day, and gradually down. Around this time, I run two fans, one laptop, two phones, TV (32 inches) + decoder, router, and freezer.
When input drops below hundred watts in the evening, I switch off my freezer.
If you run 400 watts on battery power only, that will give you like close to 3 hours of light alone. From 5 pm to 7 pm, and you're out.
That's why if the battery is not full and you're using it on total load, the battery will be stuck at that time percentage, and you will have little battery left for night. That's it. I hope it's clear. Yeah I get thank you. It might not be constant 400w. Mostly my fridge, fan which is like 100w because it is a Binatone Typhoon Series and charging my devices and lights in the house. That might be like 250w. It’s only when i put on the TV or my gaming console or need heavy appliances it’ll bump up to 400w or more. Then at evening or night, only the fridge, lights and fan would be working |

twosquare: @Babatundehy can answer that question about the feet and AWG.
You can ask your questions here, sir. Okay. Is it just the jinko 555w solar panel and the mc4 connector from temu I need for the setup to work? Amd how effective is it during the day if you’re running load of at least 400w while charging and using? Will the powerstation get charged to 100% by evening? |
Phones › Re: I Bought This Powerbank For 1.2 Million Naira PHOTOS by iamlammy(m): 10:41am On Jan 06, 2025 |
twosquare: Now that the harmattan period is gradually dissipating and cloudy skies are appearing...highest I got today was 350 watts as opposed to 320 in December. I expect things to get better when the first rainfall does its work. Heat season dey appear small small.
cc. Hydronium Hello, do you mind if I have your contact so I can ask questions about your Jinko solar setup. I just got the delta 2 and i’m new to this DIY setup. Also regarding the connector, which length would you advise for someone who stays upstairs? I was seeing on the thread someone got 30ft or something |
