I was about to say so too. I was held spell bound. I read and reread some parts again. Sokodobo, Momoh Ochuwa says thank you. Keep up the good work. Guys, if you've not gotten the book yet, please do. Tomorrow is almost here. I'm certain you won't regret it. Skimpledawg: Married to a Fink is out of this world.
Purchased and read the whole of it.

Same exact thing that happened with my ex some years ago. Woke up one morning to tell me his mum and grandma insists he married an ibo girl. And he's already found a girl whose dowry he would be paying the following week. Fast forward to months after marriage, he calls me, asking me to come teach his wife how I make my spaghetti and goat meat stew. As what kwanu? AdujaZik: Some uneducated parents would like don't bring a non tribal girl oo because I don't know how to speak English, don't disgrace me o,Hoow can I communicate with her?..Like very seriously*they can fight you until their last breathe. And sometimes where we see our match sef is amidst the non tribal babes.. |

You're very right. If the document had Mr and Mrs ABC. When he throws Mrs ABC out, and marries a new woman. The new woman becomes Mrs ABC. It's either she doesn't change the name from hers at all or if she must, it should read her full name not just the surname. i.e Mr Dee Cee ABC and Mrs Ess Emm Hoo ABC. LewsTherin: I both agree and disagree with this at the same time. Wierd, huh?
From the onset, yes. She should have made it a joint filing. I believe all property bought in a marriage should be jointly owned. Heck from the start, I would mot have “shared” the money in the first place. We would have used it jointly. That's what I do in my marriage. There is no his and her money. There is only our money. May be easier for me as we run a business together but hey, that's just me.
But seeing what has come out of this decision howbeit only from her side of the story, imagine what would have happened if the property was jointly owned. From the little I know, a Nigerian man can still kick his wife out of a house they jointly own. Tradition being stronger than law here. It will be said that even though both names are on the deed, he is still the husband and head of the house and still owns the house. Lawyers would be needed to untangle the mess.
I may be wrong but that's what I understand. |
