In a powerful gesture of compassion and solidarity amid Plateau State’s recent wave of grief, renowned cleric Apostle Joshua Selman has donated relief materials valued at over ₦100 million to victims of violent attacks across the state, offering not just aid, but a message of hope to wounded communities.

The donation, presented during a visit to Governor Caleb Mutfwang at the Old Government House in Rayfield, Jos, comes at a critical time when many families remain displaced, bereaved, and in urgent need of support following recent security crises.

Accompanied by Pastor John Kennedy and , Apostle Selman said the intervention was inspired by a burden to stand physically and spiritually with the people of Plateau in their season of pain.

“We are here to identify with Plateau people in their moment of grief and to remind them that there is still hope,” he said.

“In the midst of chaos and unfortunate incidents, God remains on the throne, and there is always a way out.”

The cleric described Plateau as a land blessed with peace-loving people, rich heritage, and enormous potential, lamenting that repeated violence has continued to disrupt its promise.

As part of the intervention, Selman donated 3,000 bags of rice, large quantities of cooking oil, and additional financial support for directly affected families, an effort aimed at cushioning the hardship faced by victims and displaced households.

While acknowledging that no material support can replace lost lives, he said the gesture represents a collective commitment to comfort the hurting and restore dignity to struggling families.

“This is our way of locking hands with the government, the Church, and all well-meaning stakeholders in helping our people heal,” he added.

Receiving the donation, Governor Caleb Mutfwang praised the cleric’s intervention as both timely and deeply symbolic, saying it reflects the spirit of unity needed to confront Plateau’s challenges.

The governor noted that the support transcends religious lines and complements ongoing humanitarian efforts by the state government, faith-based organizations, and community leaders.

“This is more than relief material; it is a message that Plateau is not alone,” the governor said.

“It shows that in difficult times, compassion and collective responsibility remain our greatest strengths.”

Governor Mutfwang further urged Plateau citizens at home and abroad to contribute meaningfully toward rebuilding trust, promoting peace, and supporting vulnerable communities.

As communities across Plateau continue to grapple with the aftermath of violence, the donation stands as a reminder that even in tragedy, acts of kindness can rekindle hope, and that the journey toward healing is strongest when walked together.
