They walked out of the room and to the reception, the doctor gave Maria some drugs for Yvonne and they left the hospital, got into Maria’s car
“I want to sit at the back” Yvonne said
“Whatever you want” Maria said and opened the back seat for her. Audrey sat in front with Maria who drove the car
“How long did I stay in that hospital?” Yvonne said
“Just one day” Maria said driving
“What? A whole 24hours?”
“Yeah” Maria said
“Where’s Rachael?” Yvonne asked

“Where are we going now?” Yvonne asked

After 3mins
“I don’t understand what’s happening to me” Yvonne said

“Who are you talking to?” Maria said and in the blink of an eye he had disappeared

After 10mins of driving they arrived at Maria’s place
“Home sweet home” Yvonne said and sat down on the sofa and relaxed

“Are you going somewhere?” Audrey said
“I just want to go for a stroll”
“Hell no, you just came back from a hospital” Audrey said
“Look I…. Jesus Christ” Yvonne yelled and jumped up

Yvonne drove fast into the main road
“You shouldn’t have told your friend” a voice said

She drove to nowhere in particular; she was on 3rd mainland bridge and right in the middle of the bridge her car started to slow down
“Oh no” she said and tried all she could but nothing so she parked the car by the road, every other vehicle kept moving at a high speed. She tried starting it again but nothing happened. She stepped out of the car and walked to the front and opened the engine and stared at it not knowing what to do, she knew that those powers were working against her again, she heard the sound of someone hitting her car from behind, she was scared but went to the back to see who but she didn’t see anyone or any scratch.

Suddenly there was a loud horn behind her, she turned as quickly as she could and is met face to face with a trailer heading to her at an incredible speed, she froze in fear not knowing what to do, most probably because running at this point would not save her life because of how close it was, strangely the trailer was on the wrong lane, how did it enter the wrong lane and then suddenly from the sky descended something so fast and swift, in a blink it was on the ground, behold it was person landing right in front of Yvonne and facing the coming trailer, she just stared with fear of the approaching trailer and still processing what or who had just descended, with open mouth she watched as the trailer ran into him with so much force and power but it appeared like the trailer had ran into a thick steel wall, forcing the trailer to come to a full but massively damaging stop. His strength was unbelievable, the forceful stop sends the back of the trailer upwards and forward but he sends the entire trailer into the sea like an annoying trash bin in one throw.


She was completely stunned and speechless; standing there without saying a word and just staring at him. If this was a dream she’d want to wake up from it in an instant but there was no waking up from this one. He turned around to look at her and that was when she had a good look at him; he was doggedly handsome and there was this inherent strength in his face, he gave off this powerful scent of power and ageless strength, he had the shaped square jaw with very visible blue and greenish iris, he was a beauty, his black hair gleamed in the light of the sun above them, his beards was finely trimmed and spread around his fine square jaw. He walked to her and stopped in front of her; she just stared with surprise as her eyes got stuck on his broad chest and powerful shoulders for some seconds, even though covered in clothes he failed to hide his chiseled body. She then looked deep into his eyes, probably forgot her mouth was still very much open, he also stared at her too but after about 3 seconds of awkward staring he broke the silence
“My name is Metatron” he said looking into her eyes and that was the moment she deemed it fit to do a passing out in Prince Charmin's arms, she suddenly lost consciousness and passed out, unfortunately this Prince Charming wasn’t familiar withhis role as a knight in shinny armor, so he just stood there and made no attempt to catch her, he watched her fall like a log to the ground…

“Madam! Madam!!” the cleaner called Yvonne; she opened her eyes and her sight was blurry, she was feeling weak andslowlythe blur cleared off and she saw the female cleaner before her
“Who are you?” she said in a low tone trying to stand
“I am the cleaner” she said helping her up

“Sorry about that ma” the cleaner said; Yvonne now remembered last night’s event, she became scared again; she looked around the large room then she walked to her bed side and saw that piece of paper
“Come please, pick that paper & throw it away” she said pointing to the paper; the cleaner was surprised at her attitude towards a piece of paper; it was like she was scared of the paper. The cleaner picked up the paper & squeezed it and put it in the waste basket she brought
“No please burn the paper. Ok?” she said
“Ok I will” the cleaner looked confused and didn’t understanding Yvonne’s attitude
“Is anything the problem madam” she said
“No just make sure you burn it” Yvonne said

“I’ll be outside, when you are through I’ll come in” Yvonne said then left the room
Yvonne was really worried; what the hell was that? And what did it want? Why was this happening to her? She kept thinking, she decided to go down stairs, she was still on her outing dress from last night with no shoes on her feet, she walked down the stairs but she stopped, something in her mind said
“Go back” she stopped and went back up and back to her room, the cleaner was already through and was leaving.

Yvonne sat on the bed for like 15mins thinking but later went into the shower and spent 30 minutes then came out with a towel, she took off the towel from her chest and wiped her hair and as she did so she suddenly remembered the paper, she tied the towel on her waist and walked to the bed side then looked and didn’t find the paper
“Finally” she said and walked back to her wardrobe and took out a nice white gown and she dressed up; the gown was slightly above the knees and was armless, she puts on a perfume called ‘DORIS’, she then combed her hair and packed it with a hair band as ponytail leaving the end falling behind her neck, she picked up her bag and car keys then headed for the door. She opened the bag to check for her phone and it was there and as she went out she looked back inside and saw the paper on the floor, she made a short scream then headed for the exit, she banged the door quickly as she ran outside. She walked fast along the corridor and looked back like she was been chased; she almost fell with her heeled shoes, got into the elevator and down to the reception, sheknew she had to act normal so she took a deep breath then walked out into the reception and headed for the exit
“Good morning ma” the receptionist said
“Good morning” Yvonne walked to her and dropped the key on the table
“How was the night?” the receptionist asked
“One hell of a night” Yvonne said
“Excuse me?” the receptionist was surprised

Without being told Maria knew why Max was acting different, she could remember her words yesterday morning and she felt bad about it. As she sat in the sitting room she heard a strong knock on the door she was startled

She was feeling sleepy, the door opened and she turned to look at who and saw a very handsome white fellow who sat beside her bed, he was putting on a white shirt and black trousers, she was weak and sleepy she was thinking if it was a dream
“Hello there, don’t be afraid” he said smiling
“Who are you” she said in a weak voice as her eyes weaken
“I’m your friend, I’m here to help” he said
“Help? Help do what?” she asked
“Relax, you need to clear your mind first” he said and touched her forehead head and she slept off…

When she opened her eyes again she saw Maria, Audrey and a doctor
“What am I doing here? Why am I so weak” Yvonne asked
“Relax honey everything is fine now” Audrey said touching Yvonne’s hair
“Can you guys stop saying that, I feel my head dizzy and I feel so sick” she said
“Yvonne, you have a high fever” the doctor said
“What fever? Is that why you put me on drip?” she asked
“I think you are giving yourself too much worries” Maria said

“Relax” Maria said
“A man came here and sat beside me, I didn’t know him” she said
“No man came here, Yvonne” the doctor said

“No am not” she said then removed the drip pipe in her hand

“No, I’ll just prescribe some drugs for her to take” he said
“Thank you” Yvonne said standing up and looked at herself
“Who changed my clothes?” she asked
“I did” the doctor said, her mouth fell open

“What” she replied, she was sitting down in the living room

Yvonne was still standing there and looking at the old lady who was approaching, as Yvonne said her last prayers there was a sudden white light from her bathroom door, the light was so bright that it shined through the edges of the closed door and the rays were clearly visible and straight. The old lady stopped, Yvonne was surprised the old lady stopped and as she looked she saw something running out of the red light towards her, her fears heighten and the room started shaking, suddenly the bathroom door flung open and the light shined brightly causing even the old lady to covered her face something ran out of the red light, it was a huge monster with horns and it immediately carried the old lady in its hand and ran into the red light, and almost instantly a man ran out off the white light and towards the red light but the red light immediately vanished and the room was full of white light; Yvonne watched carefully with surprise as the man walked back into the white light, he passed her like she wasn’t there, he stopped at the entrance of the white light then turned to look at her but she looked away because the light was too bright, he walked into the light and disappeared. The door slammed close loudly and the light went out leaving her in darkness, then the room lights came on. She was still standing glued to the door with her mouth opened and still in shock of what just happened and suddenly she fell down and fainted…


7:00am, Max stood up from the bed he looked by his side and Maria wasn’t there, he walked into the bathroom and locked the door and came out in 15mins, he dressed up for work, he picked up only his laptop and car key and left the room, he went down stairs and saw Maria in the sitting room—his expression had no sign of happiness
“Good morning Honey, Breakfast is ready” she said happily walking towards him, he passed her and walked out of the house not saying a word and not even looking at her, he entered his car and drove off. She was just standing there not knowing what to say/or do, she turned to look at the food on the dinning before going upstairs…



“Audrey I need to talk to you” Chinedu spoke to Audrey who was prepared to go out

5 : In confused moments


“Hello beautiful” a guy said to Yvonne as she sat down in the hotel’s cinema watching a movie with a bottle of Hennessey. She turned her head and looked at him then turned to face the cinema TV
“What do you want?” she asked
“I was sitting over there and was just wondering why a beautiful girl like you would be sitting at the back here all alone” he said smiling, she looked at him again then looked at the TV then sipped from her bottle—his line were lame and unimpressive
“So after wondering you decided to come do what exactly?” she said then sipping from the bottle

“What the hell is this?” she questioned
“How did this get here?” she said but she looked uninterested in it, she threw it in her waste basket, she just finished eating and she was tired, she turned on the A.C cause the room was hot, she laid on the bed to sleep, she closed her eyes to sleep then the event that occurred earlier came to her mind, she remembered the stranger but couldn’t see his face, she recalled seeing herself in front of her gate in her car, then she slept off, suddenly she saw herself on 3rd mainland bridge and the sun was hot she could feel it on her skin, suddenly there was a trailer coming towards her so fast , it appeared to have lost control and before she could run the trailer hit her off the bridge and she immediately opened her eyes & got up from the bed, she was sweating even in the A.C, she was surprised that she had started dreaming so quickly. She set her feet down the bed but stepped on something; she looked down and saw that same piece of paper, she picked it opened it and the same number again
“How did it get here again?” now she was a little worried, the alcohol was clearing off gradually, she went to the waste basket and looked inside and saw nothing, she squeezed it and threw it back in the basket and went back to her bed, then she heard the sound of water in her bathroom, she almost freaked out, slowly she stood up and walked to the door of the bathroom, she suddenly became scared of opening the door but she summoned courage and opened it after remembering that this was not a horror film and as she entered she could hear the sound coming from behind the shower curtains. She was scared but she walked over and opened the shower curtain and saw nothing. The shower was off, the tube was dry as bone
“Oh no Alcohol is playing on my intelligence” she said to her self as she held her head and walked back to her room and just beside the bed was the same paper waiting for her neatly folded like before
Now at this point the alcohol had cleared off her eyes, she paused in fear, she bent down and looked under the bed but nothing, she refused to pick the paper
“What is going on here?” she was scared and quickly went for the door but the door refused to open, she struggled but nothing and suddenly the lights went out
“Oh my God” her heart was racing, she was breathing heavily, sweating pushing out her fore head slowly, her pupils dilated in search of light and then suddenly a bright red light shined from the wall close to her bed, and directly facing her, she quickly blocked her eyes as she glued to the door with fear and then suddenly she saw a figure coming out of the light, it was so uncomfortable to watch; a short old lady figure with a crooked walking stick with something big on her head, Yvonne couldn’t see her face. Whatever was on the old lady’s head was looking like a living octopus. Yvonne was freaking out as the red light gave out enough heat and made her sweat. The old lady walked slowly towards Yvonne. Yvonne knew the woman was going to kill her she then tried to run but couldn’t move a foot, she tried to scream but couldn’t, she tried to shout and scream but it felt impossible as the old lady came closer, Yvonne had been completely paralyzed…

The night came but Maria had not seen her husband, she looked at the time it was 9:30pm, she dialed his number but he didn’t pick
“God I hope he’s fine” she was really scared because Max always came back by 6:30pm & now it’s been 3 hrs. but no sign of him but as she panicked she heard the horn of his car, she quickly ran outside she saw the gate man run to the gate and opened the gate and Max’s car came into the compound
“Thank God” she looked quite excited
Max came out of the car with an apple laptop in his hand; she opened her arms to give him a hug but he just walked past her without a smile. She felt embarrassed; he walked into the house and went up stairs& into their room. Maria came into the room still surprised about his attitude
“Max what was that outside?” she said referring to his unpleasant attitude. He was silent as he took of his suit& tie, taking of his shirt she asked again
“Max what’s wrong with you? You stayed out late and you are back without saying a word. I welcomed you & you ignored me” she said loudly but it seemed like he had gone deaf cause he didn’t utter a word; he didn’t even look at her face. She was becoming angry; he just took his towel and walked into the bathroom and locked the door. Maria was surprised because he had never done that ever since they got married—she had quickly forgotten what she had said earlier that day or maybe she thought that before he would have gotten over it, but this time she was wrong.
“Max please talk to me “she said knocking on the door
After 15 mins, he came out of the bathroom, he saw her sitting on the bed; he walked to the wardrobe, took out his night wears and after wearing it, he walked over and sat down on the bed, he grabbed his laptop from his bag and opened it
“Max is this about what I said in the morning?” she said turning to look at him but he didn’t respond
“Ok, my love I’m sorry… (silence) please it won’t happen again… (silence) I’m really sorry” she said but no response they were both quiet for 5 mins until she said
“I prepared some Jollof rice and turkey for you” she said smiling but he continued with what he was doing—he had eaten outside to his fill

Rachael parked her car in front of her supermarket; she sat in the car for some minutes with her head on the steering wheel, after a while she got out and headed into the store
“Good morning Ma” one of the sales girl said
“Good morning my dear”
“Ma your sister came to the store yesterday and took #370 thousand from the locker saying that you asked her to bring it urgently”
“What?” she almost screamed
“And you didn’t call me?” Rachael was pissed
“I'm sorry ma, she said it was urgent"
Rachael became so angry, she left the supermarket & headed back home.
She parked her car outside the gate & entered the compound, went to the door and as she got in she saw David dancing with her sister
“What are you doing” she said angrily, they ignored her. She went over and turned off the DVD
“What the hell?” David said
“Are you crazy? What are you doing?” Rachael said
“We are dancing” Rita said, sweating dripping over her body
“Dancing?” Rachael repeated
“Rita why did you go take money from my store”

Yvonne was still thinking as she entered the house; she refused to go into her bedroom because she didn’t want to see James so she went into the guest room to take her bath and after she did she decided to go upstairs, pack her things & leave.
She walked upstairs slowly with, a moody face, she opened her room door only to see a man with a white towel round his waist and then her husband came out of the bathroom too with towel round his waist she was surprised
“What’s going on here?” she asked
“Yvonne you are back” he said without a surprise look
“Don’t tell me it’s what I think it is”
“Yes it is” he said holding the man
“What? You are gay. How can you do this to me?” she said loudly

“Anyway, your things are packed already" he said, she was surprised that he had already packed her things
“Waw, thanks for saving me the stress" she just passed them and went over and picked her things from the table & packed her bags & left without anymore words
She got to her car opened the backdoor & dropped her things in there then she entered & drove off to nowhere in mind.
She decided to lodge in a hotel for sometime
She drove into the hotel premises, then she brought out her bags and immediately someone came with a bag carrier
“Good morning madam, let me help with that?”
“O thank you” she said & handed the bags over He followed behind her, she entered the reception & went to the counter
“Good morning” she said
“Good morning ma… Welcome to Golden Feather Hotels and suites” the lady said smiling
“Please I need a room”
“What type of room please?”
“An executive suite… Your most comfortable” Yvonne said
“That’s King Solomon’s suite ma”
“How much?” she asked
“How long do you plan on staying”
“A week”
“Ok ma that’s going to cost you #1.5 million including all other benefit and feed” she said smiling
“Ok let’s say a month” she said, the receptionist reacted a little surprised

A valet was assigned to help her take her things up with the room key. Yvonne was a very senior staff at Shell oil as well as a cryptocurrency trader, so don’t wonder how she got such money.
She arrived at room 201
“Allow me” the valet said collecting the key to open the door for her
“Thank you” she said smiling. She walked in and he followed her with the bags
“Put it there, thank you “she said and he dropped it and about to leave when she called him back
“Here have this” she brought out some cash from her hand bag 1000 naira notes without counting she handed them to him, he was full of excitement, looking at it he could see about 8 notes
“Thank you ma” he collected it with both hands & bowed
“You’re welcome” she said smiling, he left & she closed the door, she looked around the place
The hotel was exquisite, her apartment had a living room and bed room, the living room had nice couch set, a flat screen HD TV on the wall, the tiled floor glowed, there were two air conditioners in the living room alone, a fine glass table sat in the center of the living room while the chairs formed a U curve round the table. The bedroom had a large bed with bed sheets neatly dressed, a fine wardrobe with extra sheets and white towels, the bathroom was pretty comfortable too, she packed up her things and started arranging them because she knew she would be here for some time...
