I had a similar encounter. If not for my phone torchlight. I would have stepped on it. It was curled on a sandy road path. The time was around 8.00pm. it was dark and no street light. I was returning to my base after visiting my friends. A few steps to it I notice it's camouflage body curled in the sand. My hands are empty, no stones and stick around to give it a good strike. After splits seconds of thinking what to do. I decided to let peace reign and quickly continue my journey to my destination.

After 3 days. I returned to the community and heard the story of how the snake was killed by a vehicle that same night. I was told the car stepped on it with the tyres over 6 times of front and reverse movement before the huge snake gave up the ghost.

I was glad I didn't get myself into the trouble of trying to kill what can not die easily and peacefully.

Lol. I can assure you most second hand sellers usually overestimate their value.

There was a day I wanted to buy something as Clearance Sales and I just went to the market to price the new one, and mind you the price of the new one was even cheaper than what the person was advertising.

Since then, I have never bought something based on perception of being Clearance or what the Clearance seller says. Not even Jumia or Jiji price will convince me.

I once bought a two lion sewing machine for 95k with waybill. Only for me to price the item in a market close to me and I was told 100k for the new one. I just accepted my fate. The used sewing machine bought at clearance sale even came with a defect. Not to talk of the stress and time in waybilling it to my destination.

Clearance sale nah luck for Naija. Most of us are too possessive to let go of what we don't need anymore.

My own is that we, igbos need to be smart this coming 2027 general election. If OBI won't align properly with ADC or APC which is the main political front then we shouldn't vote his LP which is going to eventually lose.

Igbo people have suffered too much on political marginalization. Playing a different tune will only create more enmity and wins us nothing at last.

Obi should align with atiku, even if he loses ADC primary, he should remain there because if he go ahead to follow Aisha Yesufu's advice and run against atiku and lose, then apparently, atiku later wins the general election. The igbo nation will experience another eight years of marginalization coupled with the one we are in already.

This is the first time in my long years on this forum I am seeing a honest and a sensible take from someone from that side about politics in NIgeria. It is a sign of good things to come for everyone in Nigeria.

This is scenario is different from what OP narrated. In your case the landlord is wicked. In the OP case he is the wicked tenant with mischievous intent.
