You're supposed to collect the sum of your rent, not have since you're vacating the property before the expiration of your rent. How did you intend to raise enough money to rent another apartment in Lagos within 3 months with the half payment you collected?

This happened yesterday in my Area. 15 tenants all given quit-notice by the new landlord.

They didn't know the house had been sold since the last 5 months.


They all had to comply and start parking, because the new owner wants to start work next week.

People are just wicked.

Such has always been happening and still happening, the landlord might sell his house but the room should remain valid until the rent expired and even extra years should be given to you free should the new landlord doesn't want tenants to stay...

They now gave you another 3 months to look for a place which you rightly accepted.

Now that the time as elapsed and your rent money for another new place is not complete, you are looking for a way to cheat them and have more time bah?

The thing is legally, the landlord has no obligation to tell you if he wants to sell his house or not..... Good thing is that he has given you quit notice..
