I used to be an atheist and I used the same words he is using but today I preach Christ, heals the sick etc MaxInDHouse: |
If you are a christain you need to stop all this false judgement, mostly y'all use your emotions and standard of morals to make God act that way, Jesus did not come for the righteous but for the sinners, the ones who hate Him, He came not to judge but that they will be saved by believing in Him, please extend grace that speaks in you to others Dtruthspeaker: |
Compression shouldn't be hard na "Noah found grace- not because he was perfect, but because he had faith (Hebrews 11:7). The flood was not God's desire; it was a response to overwhelming violence and corruption (Genesis 6:5–13). Afterward, God made a covenant, sealing it with the rainbow, promising never to destroy the earth with a flood again. So when people say, “God used a flood to punish that nation ,” we must say No!, not according to His covenant. If He said, “Never again,” then He meant it or wild fire or tsunami or earthquake or to humans people say "God has strike this person" e.g stroke, untimely death, diseases, struck by lightening etc That is not God! Stop using your standard or emotions of what evil or good should be to paint a god in your heart." Did you not see me mention"God will not destroy earth again with flood" hence the sign of the covenant which is the rainbow. So if God says He won't destroy earth with flood and we all see rainbows in all nations of the earth and like the flood that happened in Brazil many christains were attributing it to God because of the mockery but I tell you by the standard of the progressive word of God that it wasn't God. He is not a destroyer , He wants sinners to repent and not all die, we were enemies of God sometimes ago before after sometime we believed and now we are believers, those guys can be saved now, tomorrow and become believers later Dtruthspeaker: |
Jesus loves you and while we were still enemies, He died and reconciled us to God, believe in Him and receive eternal life.. what if I am right, just what if I am right? What do you gain to loose if I am wrong ? I used to be an atheist before, for real, I argured this same thing you have pointed out, I cursed God etc and I'm not capping until something big happened that made me to finally decide that let me try this Jesus and see? I began to have encounters, some of the written experiences of God, etc I have seen them, I have healed the sick in different nations, I've prophesied to people in different nations and they confirmed it to be true, I hear God daily and I fellowship with the Spirit and it's so beautiful I Arda1000: |
You get for real, I understand, we didn't grow up hearing knowledgeable teachers although they tried Sha MaxInDHouse: |
Is a nation out of the world or in the world, do you see rainbow in your nation as well as other nations Dtruthspeaker: |
Did you actually read it to understand or pick a word and fly sir? Use flood to destroy a nation like that one that happened in Brazil, China it's not God Dtruthspeaker: |
If God removed all disasters now, He would also have to remove every other source of pain—including human choices. Would you be okay with a world where free will doesn’t exist?” God doesn’t enjoy pain. But He allows human freedom and a creation that still groans—for now—until the full redemption in Christ is revealed. That’s why Jesus came: not to control everything, but to redeem everyone. Arda1000: |
When you look at geology, I studied geology there are things that causes the natural disasters sometimes by humans exploration, sometimes caused by movements, don't have all the time to teach that but like I said the consequences of the fall of man causes by man changed the whole format of the earth, God will create a new earth and heaven and our faith in God that became flesh (Jesus) is the key to eternal life and like I said earlier if everyone accepts the life of Christ there won't be hunger( which was caused by men, when some men decided to take what belongs to everyone, war is caused by greedy, selfish people who gain alot personally from war.yoi need understand that even tho God's sovereign, He does not force Himself because He has given this world to us, we by His wisdom can make this world a better place but how will we be better when we can't accept responsibility and make change. Going by your agnostic view, let me ask some questions "where did intelligence , and order come from a purposeless universe ? "Why are you okay risking eternity on uncertainty ?" Is it consistent to doubt God but trust but trust human reasoning that is limited and flawed?" Arda1000: |
It is obvious you are not a christian or if you are a christian then christian with hurt and someone that needs answers. When God made the earth in Genesis 1, everything He made was good and perfect, but God didn't make robots, He made us with freewill, so you can see how loving He is and by His Spirit produce good results, He also gave man dominion over the earth and He was done with creation, don't forget He has left dominion into our hands, it is just like an adult builds a house and his child is growing there, there are things in the house that might not be harmful for an adult used with wisdom like fire, knife then the parent tells the child not to play with the electric socket, one day the parents went out and the child touched the electric socket and it changes the child's life, is electric bad for an adult? Same way God told them not to eat of the fruit of good and evil so what's happening in the world today won't happen, no one has any knowledge to do evil nor good just above it but those children decided and they ate it hence the fallen world,(man's consequences) it is only an irresponsible person blames God for the actions of men, the earth He as given to us. F For God to save the race from the wickedness man's consequences of disobedience unleashed into the world, flesh rules the earth even tho they possessed, they still needs human body( flesh) to do that, God became flesh and His name is Jesus to destroy the work of darkness, and give life to who believes Him, now if you or the world accept Him as Lord and savior and filled with His Spirit, understands His word , no one will kill the other, steal , start war etc God is merciful and loving to still make provisions for you and myself. Every man should take responsibility for his or her actions. You are the one God has put on earth to rule, so if you elect bad people we all reap the reward of it in hunger , war , corruption etc Arda1000: |
Arda1000:If you truly read the article to understand, I clearly wrote about the crisis of the fallen world, it was more like that man was was born with a disability and the disciples asked Jesus who sinned, was it his parents or him and Jesus said no one sinned, however it will be for the glory of God and he was healed and restored , we live in a fallen world Sis but God is here to help the people through you (if you are a believer) and me |

dollypi:Brother there is always context to every conversation, I was talking about God bringing destructions like flood and other things that it is not God, showing you that the bible is not just a story, it is a progressive revelation, there was a time people were sacrificing bulls, goats ,pigeons etc but as the revelation progressed we don't do that anymore because Christ a once and for all sacrifice etc What Daddy Adeboye said is normal to say using a cultural lens, but the issue with cultural gospels is that they are always flawed, Nigeria culture is different from German, chinese, English culture.... The suit, jeans, etc we wear is not African culture, using of phones, brushing of teeth, using of soaps is cultural even tho it serves for cleansing and more convenient but why can't we just keep ourselves the way we came out and follow African culture and chew sticks. The gospel is higher than any culture and God resides and uses you either you tie scarf or you tint your hair, you use make up or not. I understand moderation We will know Christ ourselves |
Standing True in the Gospel of Grace In 1 Timothy 1:18–19, Paul charges Timothy to hold firmly to the true gospel in the midst of many competing voices and distorted doctrines. This wasn’t just an academic or theological warning—it was a call to vigilance in safeguarding the message of Grace through Christ Jesus, lest it be polluted by teachings that have no place in the church. Paul reminds Timothy to continually bring to remembrance the sound doctrine he has received. Why? Because in times of pressure and controversy, it is easy to drift, to compromise, or to become entangled in doctrines rooted in fear, works, or self-effort. Paul says, "Hold on to faith and a good conscience." A good conscience here doesn't refer to mere moral performance but to a Christ-centered mind—a heart grounded in the revelation that we have been justified by faith (Romans 5:1). It is not about sin-consciousness, but about Christ-consciousness: Knowing we have peace with God Knowing we are righteous in Christ Knowing that we are no longer sinners by identity but saints, through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus. Some, however, rejected this truth, as Paul points out. They fell into legalism, mixing law and grace, or denied core truths of the gospel like the resurrection. By doing so, they made a "shipwreck of their faith." This doesn’t mean they lost their salvation, but they lost the enjoyment, stability, and rest that comes from trusting in Christ's finished work. Paul mentions two such individuals—Hymenaeus and Alexander (1 Timothy 1:20). They weren’t rejected for moral failure but for blasphemy, which 2 Timothy 2:18 clarifies was related to teaching heresy about the resurrection—claiming it had already occurred. This error destroyed the faith of some, much like legalism and mixture do today. Paul says he handed them over to Satan—not for eternal damnation—but as an act of excommunication from the fellowship. This was not to punish but to bring about self-reflection, so they could return to the truth. The goal of correction, even when firm, is restoration, not destruction. Jesus came to save, not to condemn (John 3:17). The Same Warfare Today Today, we face a similar battle. False doctrines, legalism, mixture, and performance-based Christianity still circulate, trying to pull believers away from the simplicity that is in Christ (2 Corinthians 11:3). In such a time, we must: Stand firm in the truth of the Gospel of Grace Boldly declare the finished work of Christ Refuse to be intimidated by loud voices or popular trends that oppose grace Stay united in the truth, growing in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ The gospel is not “Christ and” It is Christ alone. The one who saved us by Grace is the same one who keeps us by Grace (Philippians 1:6). Returning to law is not harmless, it makes us frustrated, weary, and ineffective, for we begin trying to accomplish in the flesh what began in the Spirit (Galatians 3:3). Finally Siblings It is wrong to think grace gives license to sin, grace was what destroyed sin and gave us dominion as we grow in our fellowship with Him we outgrow some flaws and are more in tune and the truth is what we bring out Let’s be like Timothy: strong, clear, rooted in truth, and not ashamed of the Gospel of Grace. May we protect this message from mixture and boldly proclaim: It is finished. Christ is enough. Grace sustains. Faith rests. And we are complete in Him Colossians 2:10

dollypi:Old Covenant Context Isaiah is speaking to Israel in captivity, and God is reminding them of His sovereign power, He can bring peace or allow disaster to humble nations or deliver His people. 2. God Is Not the Author of Moral Evil God is light and in Him is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5). James 1:13: “God cannot be tempted with evil, neither does He tempt any man.” God may use calamity (not create moral evil) to fulfill His redemptive purposes. 3. Christ Reveals the True Character of God Jesus is the exact image of the Father (Heb. 1:3, John 14:9). Jesus never created evil or sent disaster—He healed, forgave, restored, and gave life. Through the cross, Jesus took our calamity, our judgment, and gave us peace (Isaiah 53:5). Old Covenant View Fulfilled in Christ God forms light and creates darkness vs In Christ, we are called out of darkness into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9) God makes peace and creates calamity vs Jesus is our peace, reconciling us through the cross (Eph. 2:14) God rules over calamity vs. Jesus bore the judgment so we may walk in grace, not wrath (Rom. 5:9) Isaiah 45:7 does not teach that God creates sin or moral evil. It speaks of God's sovereignty over natural events (light/dark, peace/disaster) in the Old Covenant. But in the New Covenant, Jesus Christ reveals the heart of the Father: What Jesus won't do, don't accuse God of it, Jesus is the perfect example and image of the invincible God so we can know God in Jesus and not see God as a destroyer |

God’s wrath is not like human anger. God’s wrath is His righteous response to sin, not emotional outbursts. The context of Romans 1 is Paul exposing humanity's universal need for the gospel (Romans 1:16–3:20). 1. Who is this verse talking about? Not believers — but the ungodly (those who reject the truth). Paul is laying the foundation to show that both Jews and Gentiles are guilty and need salvation. 2. What is the “wrath of God”? In the New Covenant view: God’s wrath is not poured out on the believer, because Jesus already bore it on the cross (Romans 5:9, 1 Thess. 1:10). So God won't punish a country with flood or anything when believers that have made peace in Christ according to the word romans5:1 God's wrath is revealed (present tense) — meaning it's not just future judgment (hell), but already seen in how sin corrupts and destroys people and societies (see Romans 1:24, 26, 28 — “God gave them up”). So, it’s not God actively sending punishment from heaven, but rather God giving people over to the consequences of their rebellion (the passive wrath view). 3. "Who hold the truth in unrighteousness" — What does that mean? These people know the truth (God's moral law, conscience, general revelation — vv. 19-20), but they suppress it, choosing to live in contradiction. This is willful rejection — not ignorance. This verse is not about God’s wrath toward believers. As a believer, you have been justified and saved from wrath through Christ (Romans 5:9). Paul is building a case for the need for grace — he’s showing that the world is fallen, rejecting God, and needs the righteousness that only comes by faith in Christ. God's justice against sin is real, but His mercy triumphed over judgment through the cross (James 2:13). The gospel is not that God is angry with you, but that God so loved the world, and has provided a way out of destruction through Christ (John 3:16–18). Genesis 9:11 [11]I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.” The rainbow is a sign just more like document that my word is true and I am not a liar, I still saw that sign this year, every year the signs show in the sky, either fainting or boldly seen, the sign still shows because God is not a politician that make a vow and not do it Ken4Christ: |
The bible have stood the test of time but it remains, apart from what I've read in the bible are encounters even before reading it's having the same encounters as some of the experiences written by some of the writers, God speaks to me and I've confirmed it many times to be true, I have seen some of the things the writers saw in their days. I used to be an atheist before I finally opened my heart and it became real by the presence of the Holy Spirit MaxInDHouse: |
Is God Behind the Destruction Happening in the World Today? Short answer: No. God is not the author of destruction, chaos, or disaster in the new covenant. Many still project the Old Testament judgments onto a New Covenant reality, missing the progressive revelation of God through Jesus Christ, who is the exact representation of God’s nature Hebrews 1:3. Understanding Judgment in Context Every account in the Bible is progressive and well put together by the help of the Holy Spirit. The Bible isn’t flat, it is progressive in revelation, culminating in Christ. In the Old Testament, judgment often seemed swift and severe. But remember: John 1:17 – For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. God worked with mankind through limited covenants before Christ came. Those judgments (like the flood or Sodom) were part of a fallen world's interaction with a holy God before the cross made reconciliation and righteousness by faith possible. The Flood & the Rainbow Genesis 6–9 Noah found grace- not because he was perfect, but because he had faith (Hebrews 11:7). Stop using your standard or emotions of what evil or good should be to paint a god in your heart. Jesus is the True Revelation of God “Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil” 1 John 3:8 “The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I have come that they may have life” John 10:10 Here’s the clarity: Destruction is the devil’s work. Life is God’s will. Jesus didn’t go around causing or discipline or trying to show who He is by storms or cursing cities with tsunamis. Instead, He healed, restored, and calmed storms. That’s the clear evidence of who God truly is. Colossians 1:15 – “Christ is the visible image of the invisible God.” If you can’t imagine Jesus doing it, don’t accuse God of it. Misreading Natural Disasters as God’s Judgment Take a look at what happened in Brazil, where people said God sent a flood after mockery of Jesus. Let me ask you Did Jesus ever destroy mockers? Did He call down fire on those who rejected Him? No, and in fact, He rebuked James and John when they wanted to (Luke 9:54–56): “You do not know what manner of spirit you are of. For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.” That is the true nature of God. God’s Heart is Redemption, Not Revenge 2 Peter 3:9 – “The Lord is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” God is patient, loving, and merciful—even toward the ungodly. The delay of judgment is not neglect; it's mercy. “God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their sins against them” – 2 Corinthians 5:19 We Are the Light of the World Even though darkness covers the earth, as believers we are to shine the truth and represent Christ accurately—not as an angry punisher, but as a loving Savior. Finally Siblings God is not behind war, earthquakes, tsunamis, or pandemics. He doesn’t punish nations with disasters in this New Covenant era. Jesus is God's heart revealed: healing, forgiving, saving, calming, loving. Believers must move beyond fear-based interpretations and know God through Christ—His true image. To the unbelievers, it's time to come to Jesus and accept Him as your Lord , believe in your heart that Jesus is lord , died, resurrected and seated at the right hand and say I believe you are the giver of eternal life and I receive eternal life by faith today, I am now a born again. Ask for the Spirit to come in you and lead you, pray in the Spirit

Misunderstood Scriptures and the Need for Clarity – Day 4 The Bible was written for our learning and must be rightly divided. If not, we run the risk of interpreting Scripture through the lens of emotion, culture, bias, limited understanding, or tradition. For centuries, teachers of the law studied the Scriptures. Yet, despite the visible thread of Jesus throughout the Old Testament, many — especially the Pharisees — missed Him entirely. Why? Because they couldn't see the progressive revelation of Christ. But when Jesus came, He began to teach, and the people noticed something different: clarity. His teachings carried life and light. The people were so captivated that they forgot to eat for three days until He multiplied bread and fish to feed them. We see another example in John 3 with Nicodemus, a teacher of Israel. Jesus spoke about being "born again," and Nicodemus struggled to comprehend it. How could a teacher not understand the very truths that pointed to Christ? This shows us that clarity comes not just from knowledge but from the Spirit of revelation. Many misinterpreted scriptures over the years have brought fear, guilt, and condemnation. They've made God seem impossible to please and heaven seem out of reach. But the true Gospel reveals a God of grace, who made a way for man to stand faultless before Him. Let's look at Hebrews 10:26–29 — A Commonly Misunderstood Passage: “For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins...” (Heb. 10:26) Many have wrongly used this to teach that believers who continue in sin will end up in the lake of fire — as if Christ's sacrifice can expire or be undone. But this view ignores the context and audience of the book of Hebrews. Context Matters: Hebrews was written to Jews, many of whom had heard the Gospel. Some believed, some were uncertain, and some outright rejected it. The writer references Jeremiah 31 to explain that God promised a new covenant — not like the old one. That new covenant came through the death, blood, and resurrection of Jesus, our High Priest (Hebrews 8–10). However, some Jews were still tempted to go back to the old sacrifices — rejecting the once-and-for-all sacrifice of Christ. So, the writer warns them: If you deliberately reject Jesus after knowing the truth, there is no other sacrifice left. You've rejected the only provision God has made. So What Does "Willful Sin" Mean Here? It does not refer to a believer making a mistake or struggling with sin. It refers to the willful sin of rejecting Christ and His finished work. That is the only sin that eternally separates anyone from God. “Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy... Of how much worse punishment... will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot...” (Heb. 10:28–29) The writer is saying: If people died under Moses’ law, how much more serious is it to reject Jesus, the Son of God? To reject Jesus is to: Treat His blood as unholy Insult the Spirit of Grace Return to sacrifices of bulls and goats that could never make anyone perfect (Hebrews 10:1–4) This Was Not Written to Believers in Christ No believer who has been justified, made righteous, and sealed with the Holy Spirit will be sent to hell. Romans 5:1 says: “Having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Hebrews 10:10–14 says that by one offering, Jesus has perfected forever those who are sanctified. But Does That Mean Sin Doesn’t Matter? Not at all. Sin still has natural and emotional consequences. It can affect relationships, health, marriages But as believers, we don't avoid sin out of fear of hell — we avoid it because: We love God We are in union with Him We know who we are in Christ When you stumble, don’t run from God — run to Him, always stay in His presence in good, bad and ugly He is your father and helper. “Let us come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Heb. 4:16) Final Thought Siblings God no longer remembers your sins (Hebrews 8:12). Why? Because when He looks at you, He sees Christ. You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Cor. 5:21). You are not an adversary — you are accepted in the Beloved. So read the Word with clarity, through the lens of the finished work of Christ, and let go of fear-based teachings. The Gospel is good news. It’s not a threat — it’s a promise of life, righteousness, and peace in Him. Join us on x @theevangelistt by 7pm Katalambano daily

Stop Giving Darkness Free Promo — Embrace Christ-Consciousness I was meditating on the Word recently, and a thought stood out strongly in my heart that I believe the Body of Christ needs to hear: In many places, believers are being fed fear-based messages — sermons centered on personal experiences with darkness, messages that magnify witches, altars, curses, and demonic operations. I've seen churches even hand microphones to unbelievers during deliverance, letting them describe, in detail, the supposed operations of the devil. But what does this really do? Is it necessary? Do they really want their lambs or sheep's to grow in Christ or demons, these are what they go home gisting with their friends and anyone and little message of Jesus It doesn't glorify Christ. It feeds fear. It distracts from the gospel. It shifts the believer's focus from Jesus to the lies and theatrics of the enemy. When the enemy becomes the focus of our message, we cultivate devil-consciousness instead of Christ-consciousness. No wonder some believers now say, "The darkness in Africa is thicker." But that’s ignorance. Isaiah 60:2 says, "For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and His glory shall be seen upon thee." It didn't say darkness will only cover Africa — the entire world lies in darkness. But our focus isn't the darkness — our focus is the glory of the Lord rising upon us! Jesus never glorified the devil in His teachings. The apostles never spent their time analyzing how witches operated or how demonic birds or masquerades attacked them. Were there demonic activities in their day? Of course! But they were full of Christ, and their message was Christ alone. Brothers and sisters, let’s stop giving free promotion to the works of darkness. Let’s stop attaching demons to every bird, every cat, every shadow. Animals are part of God’s good creation (Genesis 1:25). Not everything unusual is demonic. Let us not slide into superstition and call it discernment. Instead, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5). Let’s grow in Christ-consciousness — in the awareness of His finished work, His victory, His Spirit in us. Finally Siblings Let’s preach the gospel, not our fears. Let’s magnify Jesus, not demons. Let’s renew our minds daily with truth, not testimonies of terror. Stay grounded. Stay full of grace. Stay Christ-conscious. Join our katalambano programs by 7pm on x @theevangelistt

DAY 3: Misunderstood Scriptures and the Need for Clarity 1 John 1:9 — Forgiveness: Not a Daily Ritual, But a Finished Work Key Scripture 1 John 1:9 (KJV): “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” CONTEXT MATTERS Who Was John Talking To? 1 John 1 is not written to believers who already walk in the light. It’s an evangelistic appeal to unbelievers, particularly Gnostics, who denied: The reality of sin The incarnation of Christ The need for confession or repentance 1 John 1:6–8 sets the stage: “If we say we have no sin…” “If we say we have not sinned…” This was John confronting heresy — not believers. COMMON MISINTERPRETATION “You must confess every single sin daily, or God won’t forgive you.” This belief leads to: Anxiety and fear over unconfessed sins A performance-based relationship with God Dependence on memory, not on the cross It contradicts the gospel by: Placing forgiveness on your actions Ignoring the once-for-all sacrifice of Jesus Under the New Covenant: You are already forgiven Hebrews 10:10,14 — “Once for all.” Ephesians 1:7 — “In Him we have redemption… the forgiveness of sins” Your sins are not remembered Hebrews 8:12 — “I will remember their sins no more” You are already clean 1 Corinthians 6:11 — “You were washed… justified” What Does 1 John 1:9 Actually Say? John was inviting unbelievers: If you acknowledge your sin and need for a Savior, God is faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you entirely. He was not saying believers must keep confessing to stay forgiven. RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD Law-Based Vs Grace-Based Forgiveness Conditional on confession vs Finished at the cross Confession For forgiveness vs For healing James 5:16 Righteousness Earned through performance vs Gifted by grace Romans 5:17 Fellowship Broken by sin vs Secured in Christ 1 Cor. 1:9 If we acknowledge our sinfulness and agree with God about our need for grace, He — being faithful and just — forgives us completely and removes all unrighteousness from us.” FOR THE BELIEVER You don’t confess to be forgiven… You confess because you are forgiven. Believers in Christ are: Forgiven (Ephesians 1:7) Cleansed (1 Corinthians 6:11) Justified (Romans 5:1) In the light (1 John 1:7) WALK IN THE LIGHT BECAUSE YOU’RE ALREADY IN HIM Live transparently, not fearfully Confess struggles, not to earn forgiveness, but to enjoy freedom Invite unbelievers to acknowledge their need and receive the finished work of Jesus Thinking out loud I hope the understanding this truth changes your prayer life to enjoy His presence and not be conscious of sin but rather be conscious of Christ in you Finally Siblings 1 John 1:9 is not a daily ritual for the believer. It is a one-time invitation to the unbeliever to step into the light and receive the finished work of Christ. For the believer, it’s a celebration of a forgiveness that is already done — not something to be earned day by day. Don't deliberately continue to sin Join KATALAMBANO daily by 7pm on x @theevangelistt

AFRICAN PRACTICES THAT HAVE CREPT INTO CHRISTIANITY One of the troubling trends we see today is the influence of African traditional religious practices infiltrating the Christian faith. For example, some people believe that taking a believer’s cloth, shoe, or personal item to a shrine or demonic altar can affect their life spiritually. Others dream of their possessions being manipulated—slippers, clothes, money, etc.—and immediately fall into fear and spiritual panic. Let’s be clear: these beliefs are not from the Bible. Yes, they happen in African traditional religion, but they have no place in the life of a believer in Christ. WHAT DOES THE BIBLE TEACH? > 1 John 3:8 – “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” John 10:10 – “The thief comes not but to steal, kill and destroy. I have come that they might have life and have it more abundantly.” Jesus didn’t just come to expose the devil; He came to destroy his works. He didn't give us a religion to manage fear—He gave us His very life. HOW DID HE DESTROY THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL? By giving us His life—His Spirit. > “He who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.” – 1 Corinthians 6:17 If the Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, He will quicken (give life to) your mortal body – Romans 8:11. This means your body, your life, your being, and yes, even your clothing, can carry divine life. We read in: > Mark 5:30 – The woman with the issue of blood touched the garment of Jesus and was healed. Acts 19:11-12 – Cloths from Paul’s body were used to heal the sick and cast out demons. Why? Because the life of Christ was in them. And you have the same Spirit. STAND IN TRUTH, NOT TRADITION Even if someone took your cloth, your money, your shoes—even in a dream—it does not call for fear or panic, and not even a prayer point. Why? Because… > John 8:32 – “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Truth doesn't just free you—it establishes you. The devil feeds on ignorance. But you are in Christ and Christ is in you. Live from this reality. FINAL WORD Don't dwell in African practices. Don’t mix Christ with culture. Don’t try to fight the devil with fear-based religion. Live the higher life in Christ. Your victory is in knowing and standing on the Truth—not begging God to protect what He has already secured. |
Misunderstood Scriptures and the Need for Spiritual Clarity There are countless verses in the Bible that have been misunderstood and misapplied in Christianity over the years. These misinterpretations are not always due to ill intent; often, they are passed down through respected leaders, cultural beliefs, or emotional experiences. But the danger lies in how these teachings can cloud our spiritual understanding, especially when we've heard them repeatedly over the years from people we trust. When Your Bible Has a Voice You may find yourself reading scripture only to hear the echo of a preacher’s voice rather than the whisper of the Holy Spirit. This happens because our minds have been trained to associate certain verses with specific interpretations, often taken out of context. The result? It's hard to approach the Word with a clean slate or hear God for ourselves. A Misused Verse: Matthew 7:21-23 A prime example is Matthew 7:21 – > "Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven..." This verse is commonly used to instill fear in believers, suggesting that one can be saved today and lost tomorrow. It fuels prayers like, “Oh Lord, don’t let me miss heaven,” often prayed with deep anxiety. But is that really what Jesus meant? Let’s look deeper. The Full Picture of Matthew 7:21-23 In context, Jesus is not speaking to believers who are in Him. He is speaking to those who performed religious works in His name but were never in relationship with Him: > “Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and cast out demons, and perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’” Notice the phrase: “I never knew you.” He didn't say, “I knew you before, but you backslid.” He didn’t say, “You were mine, but you lost your salvation.” He said: "I NEVER knew you." Which means — they were never truly His. So Who Were These People? They are pretenders. People who operate in the name of Jesus but not in union with Jesus. They may: Preach in His name Prophesy Perform miracles Cast out demons Yet, they do it without truly being born again, without being joined to the Lord in Spirit (1 Cor. 6:17), and without the seal of the Holy Spirit (Eph. 1:13-14). These are not believers who "lost heaven." They are unbelievers who used religious performance to mask spiritual emptiness. The Will of the Father What is God’s will, then? > John 6:40 – “This is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life.” > John 3:16-18 – Whoever believes in Him shall not perish… whoever does not believe is condemned already. So the issue is not about believers losing salvation. It’s about who has truly believed and who has not. Who Is Truly Saved? 2 Cor. 5:17 — If any man is in Christ, he is a new creation. 1 Cor. 6:17 — He that is joined to the Lord is one Spirit with Him. John 14:16 — The Spirit comes to dwell with us forever. Romans 8:38-39 — Nothing can separate us from the love of God. If you're in Christ, you are: Known by Him Sealed by His Spirit Secure in His love He doesn’t abandon His own. The Real Danger: False Security Without True Salvation This passage (Matt. 7:21-23) is not a warning to true believers to “try harder” or “do more” to stay saved. It’s a warning to those faking the walk, thinking that works can replace relationship. Don't Let Fear Preach to You We must stop letting fear-based interpretations dominate our understanding of the Bible. The truth is: > Salvation is not earned by works — and it’s not lost by works. It is a gift (Eph. 2:8-9) and the work of Christ in you. If you have truly believed in the Lord Jesus — you are His. You are known. You are sealed. And nothing can undo that. --- Final Encouragement: > “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” — John 8:32 Don’t let tradition, fear, or emotional preaching rob you of the joy and security of your salvation. Let the Spirit of God teach you. Be grounded in the New Covenant realities. And build your intimacy with the Holy Spirit — because that is where true revelation flows. > You are in Christ, as He is in you. And He will never leave you nor forsake you. (Hebrews 13:5) @highlight Scriptures and the Need for Spiritual Clarity There are countless verses in the Bible that have been misunderstood and misapplied in Christianity over the years. Misunderstood Scriptures and the Need for Clarity The Bible was not originally written in English—it was written in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. To truly understand the Scriptures, we must not approach it like forcing a tall man’s hand into a short glove. Misplacing context or translating without understanding leads to distorted teachings and false perceptions of God—often reducing Him to the image of a village deity: angry, unpredictable, and punitive. The Importance of Language and Context The English language often lacks the depth, emotional weight, and precision found in the original languages of Scripture. For instance, in English, the word “love” can be used for anything: I love God, I love bread, I love my spouse. But in Greek, love is expressed through distinct words: Agape – God’s unconditional, selfless love Philia – brotherly affection Eros – romantic love Storge – familial love This distinction helps us see, for example, that God’s love for us isn’t based on performance or feelings—it’s agape, sacrificial and eternal. Misunderstanding Philippians 2:12 One widely misunderstood scripture is Philippians 2:12: “Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” Many interpret this to mean: “You must earn your salvation, or God will strike you down when you make a mistake.” This paints a picture of God holding a whip, waiting for you to fail so He can erase your name from the Book of Life. But that is not what the verse says. It says "work out" your salvation, not "work for" it. There’s a big difference. Work FOR vs. Work OUT Working for something means you earn it. Like an employee working daily to earn a paycheck. If you fail to perform, you don’t get paid. But salvation is not a wage, it's a gift: John 3:16 – God gave His Son. Ephesians 2:8-9 – “For by grace you have been saved through faith... it is the gift of God, not of works...” Romans 4 – Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness—not by works. If salvation could be earned, then Jesus died in vain. But we all fall short (Romans 3:23), so God gave us grace through Jesus. The Greek Word “Work Out” – Katergazesthe The original Greek word for “work out” here is katergazesthe, which means: “To bring forth, to carry out to the goal, to activate what is already within.” In other words, Paul is saying: “Bring out what God has already placed in you.” This is not about striving for acceptance, but living from the reality that you are already accepted in Christ. Just like how you encourage someone feeling weak by reminding them of the strength inside them, this verse reminds us to activate our identity in Christ—to live boldly, not from fear of rejection, but from the confidence of divine indwelling. Fear and Trembling – Not Terror, But Awe “Fear and trembling” here doesn't mean terror. It means reverent awe—the kind of respect you have when you're aware of something greater than yourself. Imagine this: God lives in you. Not as a visitor, but as your very life source (Philippians 2:13). That should inspire awe, not fear of punishment. It leads to dependence, yielding, and fellowship with the Spirit. An Example From Ministry I was once called on short notice to preach. While outside, the Spirit of God began to speak to me on what to teach. I wrote down the points, and when they later asked if I was ready, I simply replied: “I can never be ready enough, but He in me is always ready, He is working in me. He is my teacher and I just have to trust and bring it out” That’s what it means to work out your salvation with reverence. Trusting the Spirit who lives in you to give utterance, wisdom, strength, and grace. Finally Siblings We don’t work for salvation. We work it out from the life, power, and Spirit already at work in us. We live not from pressure to earn, but from the rest of being complete in Christ. “For it is God who works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.” – Philippians 2:13 Let every believer know: God is not waiting to punish you. He is living inside you to empower you. Trust in His finished work, yield to His Spirit, and bring out what’s already yours in Christ.
