social development over academic development for now... Thanks boss Onegai: |
This is noted Mariangeles: |
Good day my fellow Nairalanders. I would like to seek your opinions regarding my child's academics, development, social well being, and growth. He is a two year and one month old child, and got enrolled into a school last month starting at Kindergarten 1. He can currently recite A to Z, 1 - 14, some few cartoon poems, recognize his body parts, and identify few objects. I just want your advice for things you feel i can do more as a father to aid his growth as i dont want my child to lack information and skills that i lacked from my early age. Your opinions will be highly appreciated |

VeryWickedBro:The joke is on you. Imagine my colleagues gets sacked today for whatever reason, what will they fall back on? |

Dear Nairalanders, I got a full-time job not too long ago at a bank and my observations are explained below. The other day, my line manager was showing me something on her phone and a message from Fairmoney loan overdue payment reminder popped up on her screen. Another colleague as well would at times request that I borrow her as little as N10k till month end. Infact, there was a time another colleague who earns close to 800k was telling me that purchasing a land next year was her biggest plan meaning that that she currently has no land, meanwhile, I bought my first land at Ikorodu while I was a contract staff earning N140k in early 2023. While I was also a contract staff, my Team Lead then was a BET9ja addict and would most times borrow N500 from we contract staff that he was supervising to transport him home. There was also a colleague who we were both contract staff back then. She would always tell me stories of how kind and loving her late father was and how he sent she and her brothers to private universities all through and even at a point got a car and driver to move them around. The lady in question is still a contact staff and age is now totally against her for the conversion hence she is contemplating learning tailoring sideways and getting a loan from the bank to rent a shop. After careful observations, i realized that these afformentioned people live in 3 to 2 bedroom flat apartment and their children attend expensive schools (except my contract staff colleague who is sinlge). They are also fond of ordering food from fast food. For me personally, before I became a full-time staff, I was married with a child and stayed in a single room apartment and when I got converted last year, I didn't move out and still stay in same room till date. I earn around N350k and my two year old child attends a school down my street of N20k per term. With me keeping bills at minimum level, it avails me funds to use for other project like buying more land and building and also renting shop for wifey and all sorts.. But at times I wonder if I am the one doing something wrong, I wonder if my colleagues are the ones leaving a better life while I am over here starving myself and family. Please share your though on the following. 1) People earning 150k- 250k, 300k-450k, 500k-700k, 800k upwards, what kind of apartment should they live in and what kind of school should they enrol their children in? 2) Am I the one with the problem regarding my lifestyle. |

I have a BSC and MSC in Economics (BSC-2:2 grade, MSC-2:1 grade). Now, in recent time, I've been nuturing the idea of working in any of the BIG 4 with PWC been my biggest wish Question is, Is working in PWC still possible considering that my background is just customer service or i should just forget the idea ? Professionals in the house, I need your answer to this please |
WannaHowzit:Mama put and eba ibo joint been giving me joy from time immemorial.. I don't do fast food that much, na maggi dey full their food |
Houseontherock1:But a man has already been saddled with the responsibility of carry the biggest burdan as far as financing the family is concerned.. It isn't too much if the wife washes his man cloth as a way of supporting the family |
Reminderz:Thank you for this.. very apt |
What is the duties of a wife? is to takes care of her house. before washing machine being invented,so their father washed his clothe by himself while he has wife in his house. if you could look into the guy's family, his wife have power over him.[/quote]Very good.. They put it as if i was some monster |
At work this morning, i was casually talking to a colleague about how my shirt that my wife washed got blown away by breeze at night then all of a sudden, my other colleagues (two females and a male) pounced on me calling me a dictator who enslaves his wife. While i was annoyed about the ladies who kept on saying i needed to love my wife more, wash my clothes myself or buy washing machine, i was more annoyed with the guy who referred to me as one of those husbands that women should run from. People in the house, is there anything wrong for a wife to wash her husband's clothes? Does it denote slavery? |
Breadandpeppers:Yes exactly.. I understand how parasitic Nigerian artisans can be Common to cut the grass on the land, one man i told to help get a grass cutting man told me N18500, i had to go get an aboki man myself and he did it for N7000 |
