Have a female friend who once told me that she has friends who have husbands who are gay/ bi-intimate, whatever you want to call it, and are 'happily' married. The happily part apparently comes from the acceptance by the women of the husbands indiscretions. His 'down-lows' if you will. Remember being rather naively surprised, yet here is pretty much the same issue in theme here. I do wish someone would tell these poor women that they need to take a hold of there self-worth and realise that their marriage is sacred. They shouldn't have to share their husbands with anyone whether male or female. They certainly won't fall apart by not been married, though divorce might not be an option but sorting the situation out certainly should be. I however concede it's tough especially if they have kids, she genuinely loves her husband, and one can only imagine that she may well contend with the feeling of 'did I do something wrong to deserve this?' It's also not something to be taken lightly, or made fun of. I suspect Nigeria as a society has a good way of pushing things to one side and we as a nation like living in denial. The term 'under rug swept' comes to mind. Have a feeling this sort of thing is rather more common than we might like to believe. My best wishes to lady that is struggling with this burden. I imagine it must be an overwhelming. God's grace to you. |
There is a simple answer to this one; starts with a Y and ends with an S. Boys and girls what does that spell? They are mean with their 'stare straight ahead, I don't see you indicating to me to let you through' attitude to driving. As to why they choose to drive in this full-on aggressive mode- I haven't the foggiest. Though might have something to do with the fact that the vast MAJORITY of Nigerian road users believe the blinking amber light thingy on a car is simply a mildly irritating light effect that cars come with that certainly has no bearing on road courtesy and safety; and oh I don't know, the fact that again the vast majority believe their father had a direct hand in building the lane in which their cars 'reside' and as such no other individual has a right to be on their personal property. Go figure! |
Not a Man U fan, and certainly not a Rooney fan and though I personally wouldn't opt for plastic surgery myself (even if I could afford it) I really wonder at some of the comments here: Because he has done this he is gay all of a sudden? And because he is naturally going bald he should just simply deal with it like everyone else? I know we are all entitled to our opinions but surely what the man wants to do with his own head is his business! Quite obviously going bald at such a relatively young age was affecting his confidence and ego somewhat. As a human being and more importantly as a man, I can empathise. As a Liverpool fan myself, I couldn't give two hoots. Frankly whether we support the club he plays for or not, neither should we. I beg leave the man and his head alone. He has made a personal choice for HIMSELF. Somehow find such a choice should concern NO ONE ELSE. I wonder how many of us would be honest and bold enough to splash our imperfections over the web for all the world to snigger at. Judge not people, and that's my preaching done for the day ![]() |
Was a little surprised by how comfortably we beat the Argentines, but just as surprised FIFA has thought of investigating. The word 'investigating' and FIFA in the same sentence these days just seems squalid somehow. The referees penalty in time added on (if you can call the extent of that amount of time 'added on'- you could have three kids and enjoy retirement in that much time)- Now that was a moment of pure comedic genius worth the price of admission alone! Urgh pleaze! The game is over. The match won. Someone somewhere has way too much time on their hands in my humble opinion ![]() FIFA surely has more important issues to concern themselves with. World Cup bidding process anyone? |
Please could someone point me to a car in the the price range mentioned. I would be very grateful for a response. Thanks |
Ping2ping you are ever so welcome. Information is power indeed! Happy to hear of the progress. |
Sorry for keeping you waiting. Please call Paul on 08034345975. He's a good guy, and may at least be of help in sourcing for what you need parts wise for your car. All the best and let me know how it goes won't you. Oh, and Merry Christmas and an awesome 2011 ahead to you! ![]() |
I'm sorry, er, exactly how does this have to do with Autos? ![]() |
, and waiting! |
ping2ping, hello there! Just saw your post, and will ask for you to hold on until later this evening before I send the guy- Paul's number. As I type the time is just after 6 in the morning, and I think it's only proper for me to ask Paul for his permission first before I splash his number across an open source forum. I would think it a little unfair that while we enjoy our anonymity under names like ping2ping, and ibdguy, we trade in his (anonymity and contact details) without been good enough to ask his permission first. But not to worry, I'm sure he won't mind. Just think it's a bit too early to get him out of bed to ask. Give me til later today, and I will have done the necessaries and will in turn get back to you. Failing that, one might have to find a more creative way of getting his number across- SMS perhaps! ![]() Will be in touch soon, Have a great day! |
Noticed you were online ping2ping. Any luck with your dashboard issue? |

A very good friend of mine is looking to purchase a Nigerian used or (don't laugh) toks used car for N250, 000. I have already told him he might have better luck setting his spending limit slightly higher at around the 300 mark, but the long and short is we are looking for a decent car that runs well, has as few dings and dents as possible with no hidden flaws for the range mentioned. I have trawled through the autos section trying to find something and disticntly remember someone started a thread a while back for cars valued under the N500, 000 mark, but for the life of me I simply can't seem to find it anywhere. My guy is pretty serious, so if your selling, we be buying so post here and we will work out inspections and the like ASAP if the car looks the part and seems right for him. Look forward to your response |
I think you'll find it would be close to impossible to get that specific part you need off a used dash board for your car. It simply wouldn't be feasible for the parts seller to sell just that part, the question is what would he do when someone came calling for the WHOLE and COMPLETE dashboard? So in that regard, your local mechanic (didn't know we were privileged to enjoy the international variety in Nigeria- sorry just yanking your chain! ) has actually got it spot on- you would need to buy the dash as a whole to get the part you're looking for, and yes that would be a rather costly endeavor! I suspect you, like me get pretty attached to your cars, and as such can't stand a single nut or bolt missing or loose. The reality is, with used cars it can turn into a very expensive personality trait for a car owner. If you can live with the problem, then try to do so as I'm sure God will provide a newer and better car in time. If you can't wait that long, Ladipo is your best bet for the dashboard replacement. Just remember to cash a decent amount of money from your bank to cover the cost implication. If you need a fairly reliable go-to guy there, post again and I could forward his number on to you. Good luck with everything, |
Thanks for your reply. Having waited for so long for someone to post a reply, I got in touch with some guys I know at Computer Village who sell phones. Apparently they have the Wave. Just trying to get the juice together to actually pay for it. Your option would however not have worked for me as I don't 'do' second hand phones. Its new or nothing. But thanks all the same and all the best, |
Can't imagine why people have stuck with Network Crapiolla i.e MTN for so long! It has always taken other networks saving us from their greed for subscribers to enjoy any level of affordable communication. Left to the yellow brigade, we would still be on per minute call charges paying 50 bucks a throw if not for Glo taking them on a few years ago! Thank heavens for the real shake-up Airtel are aggressively trying to enforce. For those who are still sceptically doubting this latest tariff offer, well don't- the 2 Good tariff works, and works well for that matter. You actually don't need any credit on your phone to migrate. You will however need to recharge your account to obviously make calls; from where the first accumulated 60 seconds will cost you 36 Naira each new day. There after, all calls are charged at the bargain plan rate of 20 kobo per second or 12 Naira each minute. I have it good authority from an Airtel manager friend of mine that its a direct response to the bleeding of customers to Etisalat who apparently now have between 5 and 6 million subscribers, as Eti offer 25k to all networks currently. I've always liked the customer friendly approach of Econet Wireless, Vodafone, V-Mobile, Celtel, Zain, Airtel or whatever corporate incarnation they have chosen to take over the years, though I've often found them slow on the up-take when offering customers value added services before now. Hopefully as Airtel, they can start repaying customers for all the loyalty and putting up with a multitude of name changes and corporate shifts over the years. No doubt this tariff plan is a massive and potentially hugely successful place to start. Go Airtel!!! |
