I just did my medicals and I remember the doctor said Hepatitis B might results in failed Medicaid as it is easily transferable. Blood samples collected might be tested with so many things to detect which is which. But the main reason of the medical is to let the govt prepared for your case at the worse scenario. Tvickie: You’re right. When I went for my medicals I had a long chat with the doctor. They’ll only ask you if you have any existing health condition. Except they see reasons that might make them think otherwise the hepatitis test won’t be carried out. |

Thank you Sir, I have currently gotten a supervisor at Germany. Was lucky to have gotten that and probably may leave soonest as soon as DAAD send award letters. I am just trying to choose one which is best for me. Stonecoldsteve: I really did not want to contribute to this being that I am waiting for my passport I submitted since on the 9th of July at VFS Abuja and it's stressing me. Let me first congratulate you on your scholarship. I am an NDDC PhD scholar as well. Only difference between the both of us is that I can use my scholarship to proceed to any foreign University of my choice and I chose Canada as soon as I got a supervisor, a procedure that took two years of constant mails and calls to this same supervisor without response. I will leave that story for another day.
My colleague at the office got the PTDF scholarship to Germany as well and he's for PhD. He has been trying to secure a supervisor for the past 3 months and he told me it's been hell. He keeps getting rejected by the supervisors. I told him to take it up with the PTDF management during the induction which he did and he said you guys were told that one Nigerian Lecturer based in Germany had promised to help. He also told me you guys were given till September 2020 to utilize the scholarship or lose it. So, I wonder if you have gotten a supervisor and if you haven't. are you willing t put all your eggs in one basket, given the tight timeframe for your PTDF scholarship?
I was a recipient of the the PTDF split-site PhD scholarship in 2017 along with some other colleagues. One of our colleagues had already started his PhD at a Nigerian University then. The split-site did not work out because of the Nigerian University arrangement (you have to do two years abroad and one year in a Nigerian University) and so, this colleague re-applied for the PTDF 2018 scholarship and got it to attend a French University for PhD. At that same time he got the US Fulbright scholarship to spend one year of his PhD in an American University. He decided to opt for the Fulbright while waiting for the supervisor nod from the French University. I can tell you that my colleague is a about rounding up in the US and I'm not sure of his supervision arrangements with the French University yet.
I did my masters in Europe under scholarship with the NDDC as well and I can tell you that at the end of three years you will wish you had taken the opportunity to leave for Canada for a second masters. From language barrier, silent racism, opposite traffic orientation, unpredictable and irregular immigration rules, non-existent jus soli, difficult access to PR, there are a host of factors for you to consider. I don't know what your present occupation is but if you're not a lecturer and your long term goal isn't in the academia, then a PhD will be useless to you after 3 years. It is a backbreaking emotional and mental roller coaster and should only be undertaken when the individual is sure that it is what he/she wants.
You might also be thinking of moving to Germany for the PhD and then move to Canada after through Express entry. At that point, it will be difficult for you to use your degree in Canada without topping it up. I have friends with PhDs who got into Canada with EE and their PhD is useless because Canada low key doesn't value degrees other that theirs and America's. This is what recruiters call Canadian experience. I really hope you think about this well and not lose a great opportunity. I would advise you take the Canadian offer and start the program while processing your PTDF supervisor agreement in parallel because I know it will take you another 6-12 months to sort that out. If by the time you finalize the PTDF arrangements, you decide to switch to Germany, then you can write CIC that you are leaving your programme and request that your study permit be cancelled (there is nothing wrong with this as students drop out for various reasons). |

My school application is still ON. I have not withdrawn my acceptance into the school. My visa application was submitted May 26. Medical request since June 24th and haven’t done it yet. Though I have a medical at QFC for 24th Wednesday now. With your final decision, I plan to write them letter for a 10-15 days additional time to provide medical request as the 30 days will lapse Tuesday-Wednesday of my medical. However, if granted the visa I might not enter into Canada for 3 years as I will be at Germany, does it mean I can still use the visa approval granted 3 years ago? Thank you sir as I await your reply Obehi44: If you are scared of refusal because you have withdrawn your money from the school, the question is did you also or does that also means the admission was cancelled?
In any case, I think they must have passed the process of contacting the school because that I suppose is one of the first things they do while access your application. The question here will now be, how many weeks in your application so far?
These questions above will help in your decision making. BTW, if you get the visa and still which to enter Canada, I think you still have to get an admission from another school otherwise how will they print out your permit at the point of entry into Canada.
Respond to those questions first, let's see. |

Yes I prayed!!!!! Now I need your advice; Conditions 1. I have withdrawn my deposited tuition fees paid to the University 2. My background is still under review ( not yet mark) 3. What if after going for the medical the realize I have withdrawn my deposited money is that not a lie on document submitted. 4. If I go for this medical and then request for passport would you advice I drop my passport with the current situation of things that passport release takes time. I really want to have the visa of Canada at hand even if it means not going, as it boost my chances of going next. Advice me if you are in my shoe what decision will you take knowing that Germany is on its way. Plus Germany is for a PhD while Canada is second masters as I wrote and explained in my LOE. I humbly awaits your reply. Thank you. Ggetter50: Be wise bro, you are in a stage where everyone is praying for (medical request). I know money is involved in Canada but I bet you, after your studies in Germany, you will be hoping for an English speaking country again. This is Europe where many people still want to leave for English countries.
All the best in your decision. |

You not typing rubbish Sir. The thing is I will need a visit visa to enter into Canada even if I get the student visa. Also, the German visa will be processed by both government. So, wether rejection or acceptance, a bigger chance of going to Germany is almost guaranteed. Or what do you think ?
quote author=Obehi44 post=80455531]
But why can't you just get the visa, stamp and collect your passport, apply for Germany and let the Canadian visa stand a chance for you to get the German visa, go to Germany but also visit Canada from there before your visa expires. I guess I am typing rubbish though. But I am really interested to know more about this kind of case. Please don't take my advice on, it's just me thinking "why can't you get both visa" Experts please enlighten us on this matter.[/quote] |

Thanks I have read many things online and I am yet to read something about denial for withdrawing as one guru as said. Since no decision as been made, I think I might also get a refund but that’s not the case. The case is to avoid refusal due to withdrawing. I will go added to withdraw and write & copy those Visa office as told. Thanks everyone. However I still hope for any valuable information. Many thanks AkeemTy: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=613&top=4 |

Thank you, I hope I won’t get an automatic refusal for withdrawing? Also, my background check is still under review. So no decision as been made except for the medical request. I humbly await your response on this. Thanks AkeemTy: Bro just send them a mail informing them that you can't pursue the application any further as a result of issues you need to sort back in your home country, perhaps someone closely to you is terminally ill and you would like to be there for the person before he or she dies and as a result you plan to reapply when the time is convenient for you emotionally and all and you have withdrawn your admission at the school too because of what happened. Perhaps this might help. |

Thank you!! The reason I want to withdraw is based on the fact that I have been offered a ptdf scholarship for PhD in Germany. And I may no longer go to Canada again. Also, I have withdrawn my tuition paid to school as part of the refund policy. So that’s the reason I have been thinking of withdrawing my application but I don’t want it stained like resulting in automatic refusal. Austacus: And if this is the actual reason you want to withdraw your application, you need SERIOUS flogging. I mean SERIOUS FLOGGING! IRCC is aware that we only have two accredited medical centres for medical examination and they are also aware of the influx of people in these two centres.
So now, send <EMAIL> To lagos and Nairobi and address this issue.
Tell them your medical has been booked for (date) and you won't be able to meet up with the 30 days whatsoever. They will extend your date.

You not bursting Sir. Thanks for the information. Please how do I write them that I need more time to submit my medical as my 30 days will lapse soon 24th of June-24th of July. Or what do you suggest. Austacus: Sorry to burst your bubble
It would be a refusal. Straight up! |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Ibitowaoa: 7:26am On Jul 20, 2019 |
Yes, I have been called for medical but I have not done it. Does it mean if I withdraw I will be automatically refused? Austacus: You can't do that (if it is your application)! Your application is in the final stage. You will get automatic refusal because you've been called for medical..., that's if you haven't done it. But if you have done your medical, it would hasten up the final decision.
you can withdraw your application by Using the webform and tell them the reasons behind this. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp
You can as well send a <EMAIL> to CIC to request for withdrawing your application.
In your case, no kobo would be refunded cause they have started working on your application.
