What i will advise you to do is that you ask them what they plan on doing. What makes sense to you may not make sense for the other person. And they might be passionate about what you are passionate about.

Then offer to LOAN them the money you want to send them. Let the know its a LOAN but in your mind you know its a gift.

With that, the person won't be coming in case they misuse the funds and your conscience will be clear if you don't do anything for them again.

Otherwise they will turn you into ATM coming back for more money until you cannot afford it.

If you are in a position to help someone struggling back home, is it better to assistant with money from time to time to cover every day living nessicity or offer one off capital donation (E.g. 100,000) to start a business with for long term self sufficient. If business route, what would be a good profitable to advice the person to utilise the captain on. The business can be small scale to start with. fish or poultry farming seems like a good business or even washing people cloth for them. Any advice.

1. How many units one bedroom can be fitted on a terrace bungalow using a plot of land?
2. How much would it using to each one bedroom unit on a terrace bungalow?
3. How much on average can one bedroom unit be rented or sold for in ibadan ?
4. Are one bedroom accommodation sort after as residential living ?

Not currently based in nigeria but have people there who can be my eyes and ears if you know what I mean. I am interested in investing or starting a business out there but wanted to do a bit of a research to get an idea on what is good to invest in or what good business to start.

ask any of your relations to buy and activate the decoder in Nigeria first before sending it down to the uk. you can buy dish in the uk for installation or contact gurus in the forum who stay in the uk

Would a normal Uk sky satellite dish work. Once activated in nigeria, would the decoder pick up the nigerian channels in the uk as dstv do not operate in the uk.

I visited nigerian few months ago and notice the many business opportunities potential in the country so I am looking into trying out okada or the yellow tricycle, bus, or car taxi business investment. Before diving into it, would like to research and get some info on how profitable the business is / sourcing the transport and the legal stuff.

1. Is the business profitable and how much do the drivers make a day for bus, okada, car taxi, yellow tricycle.
2. Is it better to do hire purchase or rent the transport to a driver for certain months.
3. Should the transport be bought second or new.
4. Does the driver and owner need a driver to draw up agreement for both parties.

If buying or building a property with rental income potential that the owner can live in one wing and rent out the other wing, are flats the best type of property to build or buy in this instance.

10 to 12 is not too bad. In nigeria is duplex the same as flats. I am looking for something that I can have a rental in come as well . Would like something I can keep one section and let out the other. The way there is always gonna be someone living in the compound instead of locking every think up as I only visit nigeria once a year.

It will be a bungalow. A duplex will require decking which can run you almost N2m alone.

Your budget is not big enough

in that case what is the minimum to budget for a duplex or flat.

Happy New Year. I split my time between US and Nigeria (Ogun, Oyo, and Lagos). Even without the land, it might be POSSIBLE with something like a 2-3 Bedroom for your self only but i am not sure if possible if it will consist a rental income.

A 1 plot with a 2-3 bedroom and a BQ will gulp like 10k blocks. That is N1.4m. Roofing will be about N1.2m

No fixtures . No materials and workmanship. Borehole. Plastering etc.

And when you are not on ground, it will cost a bit more cos you wont be able to price shop around the laborers.

When you say 2 to 3 room for my self, would that be a bungalow or duplex.

While having a conconversation with someone the other day, there was a talk of me having a property in nigeria even thought I don't live in nigeria. I was told that buying modern newly built or building on a land can cost as little as 5 million (with or without cost of land) naira in Ibadan. Ofcourse, I thought the person was talking out of their back side as I thought 5 million naira is too small to buy or build a house. This is why I want to know if it is really possible to own a property with 5 million naira.

Is it worth buying or building a property in nigeria when the owner lives abroad and only visit nigeria once a year. I thought for someone that only visit once a year staying in an hotel or resting a short stay apartment may be better option.

If I was to build a property or buy a newlyy build in ibdan, I would like a property with rental income. For example, a duplex style flats that I can keep one section and rent out the other section of the property.

If it's possible to buy or build a property for 5 million naira (with or without cost of land), can someone please show me properties that can be bought around 5 million naira or better show me design of a property plan costing around 5 million naira to build without cost of land.

2) I believe they do cos they operated in Ibadan for years before spreading to Lagos and recently Rivers and Abuja . . . Lagos coverage is quite decent so Ibadan should be better . . .

3) I feel it will must likely be locked to the Smile network and which means it may not work with your UK sim . . .
