Without using any Internet connection, is it possible / is there a product to watch free to air channel in different part of the worder like say Nigeria. Please correct me if wrong but I think Nigeria uses dvb-t2.

hi, all.

The Smile Mifi Router Starter (Pack) Package was recommended to me by someone on here (for when I travel to Nigeria) but i would like to know ask more questions as I am not familiar with smile service and can't seem to find information on the smile 4g mifi.

1. Is the included 5 gig data for use anytime of the day or is it just for evening or weekend use ?

2. Does smile have good internet coverage in Ibadan ?

3. As I am only going to Nigeria on Holiday, would the Smile 4G mifi only work in Nigeria on smile sim or is it unlock to work with UK sim when I arrive back in the Uk.

For N16k you get the MiFi and 5gb data.

Is the Mifi supplied with only for use in Nigeria or can it be used back in the Uk and other countries.

Looking to purchase a MiFi from the UK to take with me and use with my tablet when I get to Nigeria and don't want to waste money or buy the wrong thing so I would appreciate it if anyone can answer my questions:

Would a MiFi bought in the UK work with all local mobile data sims in Nigeria as long as the Mifi is Unlocked.

Would any Mifi be okay or are there certain specifications to look out for when buying a Mifi to get good signal and speed.

It just occur to me that any air time or data sim card obtained in Nigeria require registration of bio- data and Biomentric. As i am travelling to Nigeria soon, could some please tell me:

1. why bio data and biomentric registration is required.

2. What information do I need to give for the registration.

3.Do I need to take some form of ID for the registration. If yes what form of ID would be accepted.

4. Is it all sim providers that requires registration.

That is all you need, you don't a need a visa, you only need a visa to Nigeria if you are holding British passport only.

Hi People,

Can I travel visa free to Nigeria from Heathrow with just my brand new (blanked Ecowas) Nigerian passport and ILR card or do I need to get a Nigerian Visa as well.

Is it a case of providing my Nigerian passport at check in and my ILR card at immigration.

Osyxcel: Yes, so far it is unlocked to all sims, it will work with any carrier in Nigeria.

okay. thanks for clearing it up. So all i do is get a Etisalat sim and insert it into the unlocked mifi i will be taking from the uk and then buy recharge data credit in nigeria to get access to the internet.

Are recharge card credit similar to international phone call.

Osyxcel: MTN Mifi will only work with MTN Sim as it locked to MTN. But if it is an unlocked WiFi (Universal), it would work with all sim.

As regard the best network for data connection, I'll advice you to get Etisalat.

Recharge Card credits your SIM with Airtel, then you can make calls, send SMS and subscribe to data plans and other phone services. All you have to do when your data runs out is just to Top-up your airtime.

thank for your comment. So what your saying is that if i have unlocked mifi bought in the UK it will work with local sim when i get to nigeria.
Bit confused on two things though. Your advice was to get Etisalat but you also said to recharge card credit with Airtel. Does this mean Airtel and Etisalat are the same company Or is Etisalat just for mobile data and Airtel is for both mobile data and call sim.

Dygeasy: No. All you need to do is buy a sim, get it activated, call the networks customer care, ask for their data plans and price, choose one in your head, ask for the code, buy recharge card worth the price of your chosen plan and use the code.

just spoke to a mtn via web chat and he or she told me that mtn only work with mtn mifi only is this true.

Is the recharge card like a phone card. Is the recharge card for topping up every time the data runs out or a one off.

No. You'll top up your phone and activate the data plan you want with some codes.

oh. So all i have to do is go to a phone shop in Nigeria and ask / pay for the amount of data i want and then activate the sim am going to put into my wifi with the data code.

Going to Nigeria in few months and will be taking my Samsung (WiFi only) tablet with me so I can surf the internet and stuff.

1. Am i better off buying one of those 3 MI-FI device from Currys, open it up for all network and then when I get to Nigeria get a local internet data sim card or is it in Nigeria that I have to buy the MI-FI and sim data.

I was given the 30th of December 2013 for my interview but I have to be somewhere at 4pm on that same date. My question is that am I best rescheduling my interview or would I be finished at the embassy by 3pm if I get to the embassy early in the morning. With the £20 postal order do I just address it to Nigerian high commission or do I have to include their address as well.

In the process of filling in the online ecowas application form but my printer has stopped working, can I submit the completed form without printing and then print the form, payment receipt (etc) at a later date or would i not be able to access the information again once I have submit the form.

Hi.

My nigerian passport has expired and would like to get the new ecowas passport so i have few question:

Is E-passport application form for ecowas passport?

Do i need to apply for the standard or official passport?

I live in the UK and my next of kin is also in the UK but the next of kin section of the form says next of kin address must be a nigerian address. Can ignore the next of kin section?

Do I need to complete the guarantor section if applying from and what can be used as a guarantor UK?
