Others points earned by the State and percentage allocation for indices used in evaluation include Waste Management via Satellite - 25/30; Knowledge and Attitude and Practice (KAP) of Hygiene - Sanitation - 9/10.

Akwa Ibom is emerging for the third time consecutively as the most cleanest state in the Federal Republic of Nigeria having emerged as the cleanest state in 2018, 2019 and 2020.

The recent declaration is not unconnected with the several approaches of the Akwa Ibom State Environmental Protection and Waste Management Agency (AKSEPWMA) under the Chairmanship of Hon. Prince Ikim who took over the Leadership of the Agency in 2018.

Responding shortly after the declaration by the Clean-Up Nigeria, the Chairman of AKSEPWMA thanked God and Gov. Udom Emmanuel for giving him the previlege to serve.

While calling for more proactive steps from the residents and citizens of the State, the visibly elated Board Chairman who has been adjudge as the best Performing Board Chairman also appreciated the citizens and residents for their role in drumming home the national recognition.

Hon. Prince Akpan Ikim's led Akwa Ibom State Environmental Protection and Waste Management Agency has been legendary and iconic in consistently initiating projects, campaigns, programmes, approaches and steps to maintain a clean and green Akwa Ibom State.

Just very recently, the Agency procured compactors to help in the ongoing free House-to-House Waste Evacuation initiative of the Agency.

In his avowed commitment to meet global best practice in environmental management, Hon. Ikim led agency few weeks ago also procured Magnetic Sweeping Machine, Dulevo Beluse 5000 EU5 Series.

Ikim's strides in the Akwa Ibom State Environmental Protection and Waste Management Agency is tremendous and can't be counted in a day, therefore the emergence of Akwa Ibom State as the Most Cleanest State in the Federation for the third time consecutively today, Tuesday, 22nd December 2020 is not arguable to many who know what has fueled such a national recognition.

CONGRATULATIONS to Akwa Ibom State and many thanks to Gov. Udom Emmanuel for placing the right man (Prince Ikim) in the right position for a clean and green Akwa Ibom State.
