Family / Re: Family Is Not Everything by IbrahimSalihu: 12:20pm On Dec 06, 2023
Oizee:
Family is everything to me but I will automatically disconnect myself from any part of my family that might be capable of inflicting harm on me.

I won't even take chances at all with them. If you are nice to me and later found out that you have an ulterior motives towards me I will run.
May we not have evil parents because I don't know what I'll be capable of doing to them if they intentionally harmed me.

Exactly my thought! Family is only everything when they support your growth and development and not part of your downfall.

Family / Family Is Not Everything by IbrahimSalihu: 9:54am On Dec 06, 2023
Let me just say that the saying "Family is everything" is just a lie made by society to make us believe that we should stand by our family members regardless of their behaviour. So if a father sexually molests his daughter, is family is still everything? Is the family meant to ignore and hide the father's behaviour just because family is everything?

I've come across several stories where I read about unspeakable things family members do to each other and all I can say is that if my family does such, I'd definitely disown and distance myself from such family members. I read a story where a mother locked up her son in a cage for years and was torturing him. Then tomorrow they'll expect that boy to take care of his mother in her old age because family is everything!!! If na me, i no go send my mama in her old age!!! the PTSD from such trauma would be almost impossible to cure.

Please let us not be deceived by the saying that family is everything but rather, "reliable and responsible family members are everything" . Please share your opinion, would you allow your family members destroy your mental health because family is everything?

Politics / Unveiling The Dark Past Of Jackson Ude: A Serial Blackmailer's Trail Of Deceit by IbrahimSalihu: 9:35am On Dec 06, 2023
In the realm of Nigerian media, a storm of allegations surrounding blackmail and propaganda has emerged, with Mr. Jackson Ude taking center stage. Presently residing in the United States, Ude stands accused of exploiting his media platform to engage in a pattern of destructive behavior, tarnishing the reputations of those unfortunate enough to cross his path. Among his recent victims is the highly esteemed Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Alhaji Yusuf Magaji Bichi.

Jackson Ude's Troubled History Unearthed

Before his relocation to the United States, Jackson Ude left behind a trail of controversy in Nigeria, specifically in his Abuja neighborhood at Suncity residence. Reports indicate that law enforcement was regularly summoned by neighbors due to the alleged rampant use of drugs within his premises. Ude's residence came to an abrupt and contentious end, culminating in a forceful eviction from a serviced bungalow. Interestingly, he departed with all electronics originally provided by the landlord, leaving the property owner in an ongoing search.

The Latest Target: Alhaji Yusuf Magaji Bichi

Alhaji Yusuf Magaji Bichi, a prominent figure in Nigeria's intelligence community, now finds himself entangled in the intricate web of Jackson Ude's allegations. The Director General of the DSS, boasting extensive training in intelligence processing, agent handling, and strategic planning, is confronted with the daunting task of countering accusations that pose a significant threat to his illustrious career.

Bichi's Storied Career and Contributions to National Security

Bichi's career is marked by unwavering dedication to national security and intelligence. Trained in the UK and at the prestigious National Defence College, he has held pivotal roles across various states, including Jigawa, Niger, Sokoto, and Abia. Bichi's expertise spans crucial positions such as the State Director of Security and key roles at the National Headquarters, including Director of National Assembly Liaison, Director of Security Enforcement, Director of Operations, Directorate of Intelligence, Directorate of Inspection, and Directorate of Administration and Finance. He has also contributed significantly by serving as a Director at the State Service Academy.

The Imperative of Scrutiny and Lessons Learned

As the allegations against Jackson Ude unfold, there is an urgent need to scrutinize the source and motivations behind these damaging claims. Ude's checkered history raises serious questions about the credibility of his accusations and the potential consequences of unchecked misinformation. The case serves as a stark reminder of the darker side of media and the harm that can arise from unchecked allegations. Alhaji Yusuf Magaji Bichi faces the uphill battle of defending his reputation, emphasizing the importance of discernment in navigating the intricate landscape of accusations with far-reaching consequences on individuals' lives and careers.

Politics / Allegation Of Palliative Fraud Against DGSS, Yusuf Bichi Unfounded by IbrahimSalihu: 10:32am On Dec 04, 2023
It baffles and often aches me how we got to this level of social media degeneracy in which publications are let loose in their wildest representations. Cautions are now thrown overboard on issues that require facts with zero consideration for the readers' intelligence. The situation becomes more unfortunate when one is the subject of writing.

A post alleging that the Director-General State Services (DGSS), Yusuf Bichi, CFR embezzled palliative funds meant for the personnel of the secret Service is already making the rounds in the social media. However, a close friend who works in that organization revealed that no such funds have been received by the DSS. This makes me wonder how people like Jackson Ude who posted the defamatory piece on X feel comfortable to write untruths about others.

I was further made to know that the social media publication was a handiwork of some unscrupulous and over-ambitious high-ranking officers in the DSS who seek to occupy the seat of the DGSS. The way they have chosen to achieve their goal is character assassination. This is done to cause the disaffection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR against the DG. What they fail to realize is that Tinubu is such an intelligent personality who doesn't act or take decisions based on hearsay but facts before him. Has anyone wondered why Tinubu reappointed Mele Kyari as the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL)? Mr President has seen the new wave in the NNPCL since its incorporation as a public limited company under the leadership of Kyari, possibly reason he felt he should continue as the helmsman.

Politics / Mischief Makers Dragging Dgss Into Supreme Court Presidential Election Appeal Ju by IbrahimSalihu: 6:42pm On Oct 11, 2023
A publication credited to a Nigerian- American journalist, Jackson Ude, wherein it was alleged that the Director-general, State Services (DGSS), Mr Yusuf Bichi, is employing blackmail against the Supreme Court Justices to influence a favourable judgement for President Bola Tinubu at the Supreme Court is baseless and unfounded. This can only be the handiwork of some mischief makers who want to cause confusion in the polity.

It is really unpatriotic the length to which some of our politicians go in order to settle their grievances. This is more worrisome when cases taken to court are directly or indirectly discussed, wondering if the penalty for contempt of court no longer subsists. The disturbing trend now is subtly pre-empting the decision of the court, whipping up sentiments against the arbiters of justice. The Judiciary deserves much more respect than that.

What Jackson Ude wrote about the DGSS and the Supreme Court justices did not only smear on the reputation of all the parties mentioned, it is also denigratory and passes for a libel. The contents of the publication are so weighty that they seem to be predicting the direction of the Supreme Court judgement in the Atiku Abubakar's appeal against President Tinubu. This is disrespectful to the country's Apex Court. The trend will continue if the fabricators of such fallacy and misinformation are not brought to justice.

Truth be told, we feel aggrieved at some points of our endeavors but going about spewing falsehood and unguarded statements, not minding whose reputation is damaged, is sickening and should not be tolerated. I particularly encourage evidence-based arguments. Anyone who does not have anything at hand whether written, recorded, pictorial or graphical, linking the accused to a crime is expected to remain silent and not mislead the populace. Nigeria is governed by laws and laws strive on facts and evidence when they are broken. I hope this spurious allegation will be promptly investigated to clear the air as the Supreme Court prepares for its appeal judgement on the last Presidential election.

Politics / The Many Fallacies Around Alleged Rumbles In The Dss by IbrahimSalihu: 2:48pm On Jul 19, 2023
I read with chagrin a social media write-up captioned "RUMBLES IN DSS: CORRUPTION AND NEPOTISM IN NIGERIA'S SECRET SERVICE (DSS) AMIDST RETENTION OF MR YUSUF BICHI AS DIRECTOR GENERAL". The composition repletes with debased arguments exemplifying the very nature of our society in which many believe that to get to the top, you have to deploy all manner of character assassination to bring down the perceived stumbling block to your ambition.

As an avid reader with discerning mind, I submit with strong conviction that the writer(s) of the referenced material have strong connection with the Department of State Services (DSS). Beyond the affiliation with the secret police, the author(s) are ambitious and this is obviously the drive for the libellous literary engagement. This, I will refer to, as internal scheming within the DSS. Bichi may be sitting on the DGSS' chair, many unseen hands are holding the four legs of the chair just to pull it off him. This is not unexpected, especially at a time when his erstwhile counterparts in the military and the Police were recently sacked by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

What followed the sack of the immediate past Service Chiefs and the Inspector General of Police was the appointment of new ones and subsequent compulsory retirement of officers that are seniors to them. The effect of the development was the elevation of some intermediate and high-ranking officers in the affected agencies along the ladder. By this, one can easily figure out what the sponsor(s) of the write-up tend to achieve.

This is not an adventure to establish the truth or otherwise of the many infractions raised against the person of the DGSS, an argument becomes tainted and doubtful when the motive is for selfish interest. How could serious-minded individuals throw up incidents around DGSS' wife, even if they were true, as reasons for which Bichi should be removed from office. Of what national security import are the trumped up allegations against Bichi from the angle of his wife. Issues around the DGSS' wife were so over-flogged that the write-up seems to lack seriousness and credibility. It clearly shows the kind of leadership those behind the write-up will provide if given the position of the DGSS. I am sure the seat of the DGSS is not for those who are petty and blind to more serious issues of national security dimensions.

I did a quick research on the personality of the current DGSS before coming up with this. From my findings, I got to know that since his assumption of office as DGSS, Bichi has never embarked on any personal travel outside the country, he has never been seen frolicking with any politician or Chief Executive Officer in his house, no matter how highly placed. I also got to know that there is no day, including weekends, that Bichi is not seen in the office attending to official matters. Those who alleged that the helmsman had a deal with the People's Democratic Party's Presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Atiku Abubakar, should have lent credence to their claim by providing evidence, same with the issue raised about his alleged lobbying with influential Emirs and Islamic clerics from the North for him to be retained by President Tinubu.

Digging further, I was educated that every DGSS is entitled to a personal house in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja or any part of the country which is financed by the Service. Two major issues raised against Bichi on which the sponsor(s) ought to have expended much more energy are those surrounding contract scams allegedly involving the DGSS' wife and his CSO as well as the alleged lopsided recruitment to favour Bichi LGA of Kano State where the DGSS comes from. I will advise the aggrieved individuals to produce indisputable evidence to substantiate their allegations. You don't just throw up such weighty issues merely to cause an uproar.

Since the assumption of office by Bichi, the level of professionalism with which the DSS has been operating is astonishing. It would not be quickly forgotten how some of his predecessors displayed high level of undemocratic procedure in carrying out the Service operations. Bichi charted a roadmap that led to the reclaiming of the Agency's glory that was on the precipice. It was unfounded that Bichi unleashed masked operatives to clamp down on media practitioners and perceived enemies.

Though I am not privy to the structure or workings of the DSS, I know that in the military, sponsor(s) of such unfounded information in order to bring down the authority are charged with mutiny. The sponsor(s) of the misleading information may have committed a similar crime. What I expect the DSS to do at this critical time is to deploy its info-tech to unmask those behind the anonymous write-ups. This is necessary in order to make them prove their allegations. It will further help to prevent the Nigerian populace from being misled by unsubstantiated reports.

It is certain that, Nigerians have become wise and may not be gullible to frivolous write-ups flying about in the social media. Most of these information are mere street talks that Nigerians will not find it difficult to unravel the truths behind them. Most importantly, the Nigerian Government should not allow such unfounded information determine its decision-making.
