Family / Actionable Child Anger Management Therapy That Works Like Crazy. by ICTNetworldNg(m): 1:16pm On Aug 12, 2021
In this post, I will write extensively about Child anger management therapy.

Have you noticed (recently or over time) that your child’s temper hasn’t been really nice? Wouldn’t you be glad to finally see your child grow into a happy young adult and also full of life?

Of course, as a counsellor, I know how excruciating the pain is when you see your child become angered at little provocations.

It is not uncommon for children to become really angry for “flimsy” reasons. It is completely normal for kids to be angry as they move through the different stages of development such as when they are learning to walk when they are learning to talk, and even when they are past these stages and are learning to read or write.

These various stages can be really frustrating for them, and these frustrations can lead to anger. This is because they know what exactly they want, but the body isn’t just fully developed yet to support them.

In my opinion as a counsellor, I should think this anger should give you a reason to worry when they cannot be pacified with anything or reassured that given time, they will definitely overcome their obstacles and difficulties. At this stage as a parent, Obviously, that is a real sign that something needs to be done and done really fast.

I have had to counsel several parents on the best Child anger management therapy for a while now, and from these experiences, I have realized that frustration (as mentioned above) usually precedes anger in every child. Additionally, most angry children will never learn to control their anger all through their lives if parents do not take action of teaching them how to control their anger now.

You need to know that Anger is a secondary Emotion, and you have got to take your time to school your children on how best to take control of their emotion, else, they will live to think it is normal to be angry at little frustrations.

In this post, therefore, I am going to make a list of 10 Actionable and Proven Child anger management therapy that is sure to work if only you will be committed to doing them. Part of what you will be learning in the proceeding paragraph will be how to teach your child to control anger.

1. Emotional Education.
Educating your child on how best to handle frustrations, obstacles, disappointments can go a very long way to helping them stop becoming angry every time. The emotional education you give to your child can give them words or descriptions of how best to circumvent these primary emotional issues mentioned above, and that can help.

This is what you want to do as your kids are growing up, give them words to describe the exact emotions they are feeling.

2. Understand What Triggers Their Anger.
Much of the job will be done when you have a full understanding of the primary triggers of their anger. In the above paragraph, I mentioned some of the primary triggers/emotions which might include but are never limited to Frustration about things they find difficult to do, the disappointments they nurse about their body’s inability to help them achieve what they want e.t.c.

You must be able to pinpoint:

What time of the day do you notice a change in the mood?

every child have a particular time or day they are happiest. Truth is, most parents have never tried to figure out what times of the day or day of the week when their kids are most happy. Additionally, most parents have not been able to figure out why their kids are never happy at a particular time or day of the week.

What activity have you noticed frustrates them the most?

There are activities that will usually frustrate your child and you have got to notice them. It is really needless to continue to make your child do some activities when ordinarrilly the activities frustrates them.

What food have you noticed pisses them off?

Growing up, I had some foods I hated without reasons. When I counsel parents about Child anger management therapy, I try also to point out the place of food selection in children. They can be really selective when it comes to food, and they will definitely get angry when the wrong food is served them.
3. Show Them Empathy.
Sad moments always come. They come both to the adults and children alike. In every of my Child anger management therapy class online, I’d always mention empathy.

This is not a moment to greet your child’s anger with force or lack of empathy. When you try to forcefully stop your child from getting angry, it only worsens it, and will never get you the result your desire.

These emotions do not last, you have got to pamper them, beg the (If you have to), appease them, and never use force on them.

You should be ready to weather the storm with your child, you need to stay calm.

4. Set Bounderies For Safety.
As I mentioned above, you have got to take action when you have done everything to appease your kid and none has been effective.

There are times when your child’s anger can put them in harm’s way or the people around them. When it comes to this, you need to set the boundaries for safety, and sometimes, that can mean restraint. But in all, you need to be careful also to never sound or look abusive.

You can Book A Free Online Conselling with us and be sure to get some guidance. Simply Contact Us.

5. Establish Communication With Your Child.
In this 5th step of the actionable Child anger management therapy, you are simply trying to invite them from the anger and the rage they are currently nursing into an appropriate state of communication.

Sometimes you might need to wait a little bit for the Anger they are feeling to subside a little so you can get them to listen to you when you do communicate with them.

There are different ways by which establishing communication with them can work, but I have always suggested saying (in a calm way) something like “When you are able to talk to me in the same tone I am talking with you, we should be able to solve whatever the reason for your anger” ………With this approach, you are only initiating them back into the communication mode with you. This is going to be helpful not just to the kid, but also to you as it might help to make you finally at peace with your loving child.

Repeat the Steps above if you cannot get them into a communication mode with you.

If the steps above works, then you are set to move unto Tip Number 6.

6. Provide Your Child With Appropriate Alternatives.
There are two types of alternatives that have been suggested for angry children. I have personally chosen to classify them as:

The Negative Alternatives.
The Positive/Appropriate alternatives.
Usually, you might have been told to make your child punch a pillow when he/she is angry, I personally classify this as a negative alternative as its effect on the child is negative. This alternative may make the child feel the only way to calm down when angry is through force or punching anything around when there is no pillow.

Positive/Appropriate alternatives are ones that tend to explore other positive avenues to calm an angry child down. This approach may include something like: “When you are feeling really upset about anything, it is good to breathe“.

You can usually get your child to practice breathing even when they are not upset with anything because you want to get them to use that as a way to calm down when they are upset.

7. Make Your Child Sleep Well.
In an article from Hopkins all children organization, it was said that kids who regularly get an adequate amount of sleep have improved attention, behavior, learning, memory, and overall mental and physical health. Not getting enough sleep in a child can even lead to anger and obesity in children.

Additionally, When children don’t get enough sleep, they become irritable and moody, have more trouble tolerating stress, are more easily frustrated.

8. Intervene Early Enough.
As I mentioned above, if you do not arrest the cause of your child’s anger early, they may grow up to think getting angry at little provocations is normal.

So as a parent or guardian, as you begin to notice the triggers in your ward, you can begin to intervene before it comes to a full-blown head. Be a calming presence. If your child responds well to physical contact, rub their back or arm. Encourage them to take a deep breath and count to 10 (This is also a part of the positive alternatives I mentioned above). Do this along with them to help demonstrate this calming technique.

9. Begin To Spend Time With Your Child.
It doesn’t matter how busy your schedules maybe, you have got to make out time for your child. This time spent together should be positive, loving, and nurturing. Your child needs to know he/she is valued and loved. Special time with you is incredibly valuable.

10. Get Help From A Professional.
There is no way you can ever beat a professional to the game even though you have all the experiences in the world about Child anger management therapy.

Don’t be hesitant to reach out to these professionals in your community such as counsellors.

Crime / SHOCKING: Isa Pantami To Hand Over Nigerians’ Personal Data To Pakistan by ICTNetworldNg(m): 5:44pm On Jul 14, 2021
Isa Pantami, Nigeria’s communications minister has on Wednesday, July 14, reportedly dragged Nigeria into an alliance of Islamic countries.

According to Peoples Gazette, Mr. Pantami has signed Nigeria up for the membership of the Digital Cooperation Organisation (DCO), a group that includes strictly Islamic countries.

Mr. Pantami did not throw the matter up for public debate in Nigeria, where a virtually equal number of Muslims and Christians would have properly looked at the implication of the country’s membership before taking a decision.

The Peoples Gazette further notes that the minister appeared to have on his own, presumably with the backing of President Muhammadu Buhari, whose dangerous religious and ethnic agenda has long been documented.

In a chain of key objectives listed on its website, DCO said its first aim was to collect and share data across the member countries towards digital economic prosperity.

The body said it aimed to optimize “policy and regulatory frameworks to expand cross-border data flows and digital trade among DCO members.” Other potential benefits of the group include a plan to “reduce the digital divide across the DCO” and also to “align approaches to engagement and negotiations with private sector actors.”

The DCO listed its membership countries like the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the State of Kuwait, the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Sultanate of Oman, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The DCO said the countries were brought together because of their common “vision, strategic goals, and shared values.”

But Isa Pantami’s intention has unsettled some Nigerians online, who said it was suspicious that a minister with a proven history of extremist views would seek to drag a secular Nigeria into an alliance of Muslim countries.

“I can’t recollect any public stakeholder consultation on this matter. No matter how hard you try to spin it, a minister with extremist antecedents signing Nigeria up for a group that comprises only Islamic countries is going to be viewed more about religion than the economy,” Amara Nwankpa, a policy expert based in Abuja, said on Twitter Wednesday morning.

Mr. Pantami disclosed Nigeria’s intention to join the organization in April, but the minister has provided little information to guide Nigerians on the benefits of the alliance.

Mr. Pantami’s failure to elaborate might be traceable to his role as the custodian of Nigerian’s personal data. Since late 2020, the minister has been on an aggressive push to collect personal data of Nigerians, including their biometric information for telephone lines and a national identity card.

Isa Pantami continued his controversial campaign despite revelations months ago that he held extremist views that would make millions of citizens uncomfortable with having him at the helm of data collection. Excerpts of the minister’s past controversial sermons included his thirst for the blood of unbelievers, a campaign to drive Christian minorities from their ancestral lands in central Nigeria, and his role at a meeting that debated assassination of a Christian governor in the Muslim-dominated northern region.

Mr. Pantami also said he considered Osama bin Laden a better Muslim than himself in 2006, years after the infamous Al Qaeda leader masterminded the killing of over 3,000 Americans on September 11, 2001.

Isa Pantami denied being a fundamentalist but did not recant his vicious views as a Muslim preacher in northern parts of the country between the mid and late 2000s. Mr. Buhari swiftly rallied behind him rejecting public pressure to sack the minister.

The minister did not return a request seeking comments about why he enlisted Nigeria in DCO. An email to DCO was not immediately returned as of Wednesday morning.

Politics / BREAKING; Again, Kanu’s Lawyer Makes Shocking Revelations, Indicts Kenya. by ICTNetworldNg(m): 2:16pm On Jul 05, 2021
Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, lawyer to the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has again opened up on the recent re-arrest and re-arraignment of his client.

Ejiofor made the disclosure during an exclusive interview on Arise News Morning Show on Monday, July 5, 2021.

Lawyer Ejiofor indicted Kenyan authorities who he said had beaten Nnamdi Kanu to a coma while holding him in illegal detention.

He also revealed that his client was held in a private residence instead of a legal detention facility as required by the law.

Ejiofor further maintained that Nnamdi Kanu never jumped bail but was forced to seek protection for his life which was as a result of a security breach by Nigerian security authorities.

Barrister Ejiofor also insisted that IPOB, though proscribed in Nigeria, was never ratified by any country or organization outside Nigeria.

He expressed worries that Nnamdi Kanu will not get a fair trial owing to the perceived “illegalities” involving the court presided by Justice Binta Nyako and the Department of State Security (DSS).

Politics / DSS Goes After Igboho’s Financiers , Probes Aides Call Logs by ICTNetworldNg(m): 2:05pm On Jul 05, 2021
The Department of State Services, DSS, has reportedly begun an analysis of the call logs of the detained aides to Yoruba rights activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.

It was gathered that the DSS will carry out a forensic analysis of the call logs, messages, and other contents on the phones of the 13 aides of Igboho who were arrested during Thursday’s raid on his Soka, Ibadan residence.

The suspects are Abdulateef Ofeyagbe, Amoda Babatunde (aka Lady K), Tajudeen Erinoyen, Diekola Ademola, Abideen Shittu, Jamiu Noah, Ayobami Donald, Adelabe Usman, Oluwapelumi Kunle, Raji Kazeem, Taiwo Opeyemi and Bamidele Sunday.

Igboho has gone underground since his Ibadan residence was raided by men of the DSS ahead of a major rally in support of the call for the Yoruba nation in Lagos on Saturday.

The DSS spokesman, Peter Afunaya, had told journalists in Abuja on Thursday that the raid was carried out based on an intelligence report that Igboho had stockpiled arms in his residence.

Two persons were killed during the operation.

The agency presented seven AK-47 rifles allegedly recovered during the raid on Igboho’s house, as well as three pump-action guns, 30 fully charged AK-47 magazines, 5,000 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, five cutlasses, one jack-knife, one pen knife, two pistol holsters, a pair of binoculars, a wallet containing $5, local and international driving licenses in his name, ATM cards, a German residence permit No. YO2N6K1NY bearing his name, two whistles, 50 cartridges, and 18 walkie-talkies.

Others are three charm jackets/traditional body armor, two laptops, one Toshiba and one Compaq laptop, Igboho’s passport, and those of his aides.

Afunaya claimed that five of the AK-47 rifles recovered from Igboho’s residence were snatched from the Nigeria Customs and Immigration personnel at Idi-Iroko, Ogun State.

He explained that Igboho and his group, in the guise of the campaign for self-determination had become well-armed and determined to undermine public order.

Following this development, Sunday PUNCH gathered that the secret police planned to go after Igboho’s collaborators and financiers.

Multiple sources said DSS investigators hoped to track down those offering financial and material support to the agitation for the creation of Yoruba Nation.

It was also gathered that the secret police would liaise with the International Criminal Police Organisation to apprehend Igboho wherever he may be hiding.

“The service is in the process of liaising with the Interpol to track down the fugitive. He will be watch-listed so he can be arrested wherever he may be found.

“Our forensic experts would comb the call logs and other contents of the phones of all the suspects in custody. We hope to harvest a trove of information that could lead to Igboho’s financiers and collaborators in the coming weeks,” a DSS operative confided in one of our correspondents on Friday.

Also, another top DSS official told one of our correspondents that the phones seized from Igboho’s home would be examined and this could also expose the identities of those sponsoring him.

“It is standard procedure to process suspects and their phones. Igboho didn’t know we were coming, hence he was unable to take away his passport and other items. Operatives are currently searching through the seized phones, WhatsApp chats, and other things.

“This could expose the identities of people sponsoring Igboho and those supporting him,” the source said.

Meanwhile, reacting to the invasion of Igboho’s residence, the President of Oodua Worldwide, a pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group headquartered in Canada, Prince Adewale Ojo, described the DSS’ action as “callous, oppressive, barbaric and smirks of obvious favouritism deliberately skewed to favour a section of the country against others.”

Ojo wondered why a section of the country had been terrorising the citizens of Nigeria without let while Igboho, “who is carrying out a peaceful agitation would be the target of the government.”

Politics / Nnamdi Kanu Tortured For 8 Days By Kenya’s Special Police, His Lawyer Alleges by ICTNetworldNg(m): 12:09am On Jul 03, 2021
More details about how the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu was arrested have emerged.

Kanu’s lead defense counsel, Mr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor, on Friday night, confirmed that his client was arrested and detained for eight-day by Kenya’s Special Police Force before he was eventually handed over to their Nigerian counterpart.

Ejiofor who made the disclosure shortly after his team was permitted by the Department of State Service, DSS, to have a meeting with Kanu, said his client was arrested in Kenya on June 18.

In a statement he posted on his Facebook page, Ejiofor, said his client was tortured and subjected to various forms of inhuman treatment in Kenya, a situation he said worsened his health condition.

The statement titled ‘Update on meeting with MNK today, 2nd July 2021’, read: “My Client – Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, was actually abducted by accursed Kenya’s Special Police Force on the 18th of June 2021 at their International Airport, and consequently taken to an undisclosed residence under dehumanizing conditions.

“He was tortured and subjected to all forms of inhuman treatment which worsened his health condition.

“He was illegally detained for eight (cool good DAYS in Kenya before being transferred to their Nigerian counterpart.

“He was purportedly investigated on a bogus charge while in their custody, ostensibly, awaiting to be handed over after their findings proved him innocent of all the spurious allegations.

“They later beckoned on their Nigerian Counterpart to take over.

“Kenyan Government was deeply involved in the abduction, detention and ill-treatment of my Client before the illegal handover to their Nigerian counterpart.

“A scan of his heart showed that the heart has enlarged by 13% due to the dehumanizing treatment meted to him.

“There will be a need for immediate proper medical examination and attention for him.

“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu conveyed his goodwill message to all IPOB family members worldwide and craved for your relentless prayers.

“We are going back to the Court for the needful. Other details cannot be entertained here.

“His fortified legal team will address these infractions at the proper forum as we progress. Other details on our legal strategy, may not be made public.

“With Chukwuokike Abiama on our side, Victory is assured. For if God Almighty be for us, who can be against us?”.

Ejiofor had earlier on Friday, revealed that the DSS had acceded to a request by Kanu’s legal team to have an audience with him.

A post he made to that effect read: “Update. Thankfully, our effort is yielding the desired result, We have just received a communication approving Our visit to Our Client- Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Shall keep the World posted on the outcome, immediately after the meeting, later in the Day. God is with Us”.

The defense lawyer had in a series of posts he made on Thursday, vowed to go to court should the DSS decline application to allow Kanu to have access to his defense team.

He equally hinted that Kanu would be applying to be transferred from DSS custody to a Correctional Center.

“If at the close of work today, nothing is heard from Department of State Security Services, we will be returning back to Court for the needful. DSS custody shouldn’t be the appropriate custody to keep Our Client, because they are hostile not only to we lawyers but his relatives too.

“As it stands today, we cannot verify the health status of Our Client Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who has hitherto been on daily medication.

“It is most plausible, that following restriction placed on visiting him, he may have been subjected to all forms of inhuman treatments ranging from torture, rough-handling, and threats, all targeted at extracting confessional statement from him.

“The World is hereby placed on notice that if anything happens to Our Client-Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who is presumably being subjected to these inhuman treatments.

“The Nigeria Government will be held responsible. Our Client is inherently and Constitutionally presumed innocent of all allegations against him, particularly now the Government has submitted to the judicial process.

“We still apply for calm from all corners as we expedite legal action”, Ejiofor stated

Crime / DSS Plotting To Poison Our Leader – IPOB by ICTNetworldNg(m): 11:15pm On Jul 02, 2021
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Friday accused the Department of State Services (DSS) of plotting to poison Nnamdi Kanu with a poisonous vaccine.

Newwavereorters reports that the allegation was made by IPOB’s Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, in a statement to newsmen.

According to the pro-Biafra group, the poisonous vaccine was meant to kill Nnamdi Kanu slowly.

The group warned that such an attempt would have severe consequences, adding that Ohanaeze Ndigbo must ensure that nothing happens to its leader while in DSS custody.

According to Powerful: “We pity them and Nigeria if anything happens to our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The Nigeria Government and security agencies must understand the product we are made of and how prepared we are.

“southeast Governors and Ohaneze including politicians in the region must ensure that nothing bad happens to Nnamdi Kanu because Miyetti Allah and sympathizers of terrorists are going free in the country but the ordinary person and innocent citizens are being molested every day because they are Biafrans. We won’t accept that.

“We also want to tell the DSS to jettison any plans to poison our leader with a poisonous vaccine that will make him die slowly. Any such attempt will come with unimaginable consequences! Nnamdi Kanu must not die in custody! ”

Politics / Sunday Igboho Chickens Out Of Lagos Mega Rally, Goes Into Hiding by ICTNetworldNg(m): 8:05pm On Jul 01, 2021
The Yoruba activist Sunday Adeyemo (also known as Sunday Igboho) has withdrawn from the proposed Yoruba Nation mega rally scheduled for Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Ojota Lagos.

This is gathered from a source close to his camp that he had gone into hiding.

“He is no longer in Oyo State, I spoke with his people. Expectedly, they didn’t disclose his location.

“The federal government turned the heat on Igboho to stop the July 3 rally. This has been well established”, he said.

Recall that an attack on him in the early hours of Thursday left seven people dead, several wounded with an unknown number of persons missing alongside Igboho’s wife.

The leader and coordinator of all the groups agitating for Yoruba Nation ‘Ilana Omo Oodua’, Emeritus Professor Banji Akintoye, had accused the Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government of being responsible for the early dawn attack.

The vocal agitator has been leading processions to demand the break out of the South-West from Nigeria.

Yoruba Nation rallies have already been held in other states in the region. It is believed Igboho eventually backed down to avoid arrest.

His fears reportedly heightened after Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) was apprehended in Kenya.

Igboho told BBC Pidgin that two people died and several others were still missing after the raid in the Soka area.

“I dey my house around 1:30 AM. I just hear gunshot for front of my house and shout say, we be DSS, we be soja, Sunday Igboho come out

“Wetin I dey do na to fight for my pipo, my rally dey peaceful. I fight for my family (Yoruba) becos Fulani bandits kill, rape dem. Goment refuse to do di right tin, dat na why I come out”, he said.

His words come after a statement by the umbrella body of Yoruba self-determination groups, Ilana Omo Oodua, declared that the Yoruba Nation mega rally slated for Lagos will hold on Saturday as scheduled.

The statement was signed by its leader, Emeritus Professor Banji Akintoye, and made available to newsmen by his Communications Manager, Mr. Maxwell Adeleye.

“We want to confirm again that the Pro-Yoruba Nation mega rally scheduled to hold on Saturday, July 3rd, in Lagos will proceed as scheduled” the statement read in part.

Crime / How Supertv Boss Was Murdered Plus Chidinma Adaora Ojukwu Instagram. by ICTNetworldNg(m): 5:09pm On Jun 26, 2021
The suspect, Chidimma Adaora Ojukwu, a 300 level Mass Communication student, was paraded by the Commissioner of Police (CP) Hakeem Odumosu at the command headquarters Ikeja, nine days after Atage SuperTV boss was murdered in cold blood at a Short Service Apartment, situated at 19, Adewale Oshin Street, Lekki, Phase 1, Lagos.

Ojukwu, according to Odumosu, was apprehended at her parent’s Yaba residence on Wednesday night following a painstaking investigation after Ataga was reported missing by his family only for his body to be discovered in the apartment with multiple stab injuries.

In an interview with reporters, Ojukwu said she was introduced to Ataga four months ago by her friend, adding that they used to meet at his residence in Victoria Garden City (VGC).

She claimed that on the day of the incident, June 15, she told her parents she was going for an ushering job and would spend some days there.

“We used to meet at his residence in VGC but that day, he said he was doing maintenance in the house and opted that we meet at an apartment.

“I went online to search for the apartment and went there to do a physical inspection. I got to the hotel around 6 pm and he came about an hour.

“We were having fun; drinking, smoking, and taking drugs. On Monday, we were together, drinking and smoking. We smoked SK and Loud. We had fun and so I went to get food for both of us and then on Tuesday, he was trying to make advances which I told him I was tired. I was already sleepy then he became violent on me and he got his way which I let him.

“Then towards afternoon, we ordered for smoke and I wasn’t happy with the first one that he did so I was still on my own just smoking and drinking with my food. He too was on his own on the couch so he came onto me while we were both watching a movie and I told him I was not happy with what he did. I told him he didn’t help me or assist in anything but yet he keeps playing me around and then he gave me his ATM card to go and withdraw whatever I want and told me his pin.

“I was like that’s not what I meant so he became violent trying to get to me and I was resisting and defending myself and at some point, he hit my head on the wall I was struggling to go out but he was stopping me. He even locked the door and he was with the key. I didn’t know where he kept it, so when I get the door he would draw me back and I also retaliated.

“At some point, he was choking me while I was on the kitchen cabinet and then I stretched out to the knife and stabbed his neck twice, when I stabbed him I threw the knife on the bed then he was going for it while I went for it as well. I laid on the bed, that’s when he came on me to hold the knife and I managed to stab him in the stomach.

“When he dragged the knife, he managed to slice my hand and as he was holding it, the knife broke so it slipped from his hand but he was weak and he fell on the floor. While he was lying there, I changed, I looked for the key where he hid and I left the room.”

Ojukwu admitted she withdrew about N380, 000 from the SuperTV boss account which she planned to use as school fees before she was arrested.

Addressing reporters, Odumosu said a driver’s license, complimentary cards, Bank Statement of Account, a Nigerian International Passport with No.B50010434 was retrieved from the suspects.

He said a fake driver’s license bearing Mary Johnson with the suspect’s photograph, a National Identification Card bearing the suspect’s name, one ATM debit card bearing the suspect’s name, and one University of Lagos ID card bearing the suspect’s name were also recovered.

Giving facts of the case, Odumosu said: “A case of murder was transferred from Maroko Division to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti Yaba, for discreet investigation. The fact of the case is that, on June 15, at about 5 pm, one Chidimma Adaora Ojukwu, a 300 level, undergraduate of the University of Lagos, Conspired with others, now at Large, allegedly murdered one Michael Usifo Ataga, 50, by stabbing him several times with a sharp object.

“The prime suspect, Chidinma, who had earlier booked for the apartment on June 13, secretly, left the apartment after the deed had been done on June 15, around 5:30 pm. The suspect was tracked and arrested in her residence at 57, Akinwunmi Street, Alagomeji, Yaba-Lagos.

“During the search, the prime suspect and Mass Communication Student of the University of Lagos was caught with a blood-soaked cloth, ostensibly worn on the day of the incident. The suspect confessed to have stabbed the deceased with a kitchen knife after a struggle.

Politics / Bank Documents Expose Buhari Regime Funding Adamu Garba’s Crowwe by ICTNetworldNg(m): 11:23am On Jun 24, 2021
Peoples’ Gazzete has on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 overed how the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration provided seed capital for Adamu Garba’s Crowwe social media platform, hoping the firm would help the government dominate internal narratives while squaring an ardent challenge to Facebook and Twitter for the Nigerian audience.

The Gazette obtained bank documents that carried a transfer of funds from the Central Bank of Nigeria to Mr. Garba’s IPI Solutions, a software engineering firm run by Mr. Garba.

The company developed and deployed the Crowwe social media app.

The CBN on May 21, 2019, transferred N136.8 million to Mr. Garba’s IPI Solutions, documents said, marking one of several transfers that our sources said the Buhari regime advanced to Mr. Garba in the course of building the Crowwe app.

Although, a major beneficiary of the social media storm that weakened the Jonathan administration and amplified the opposition’s messages ahead of the 2015 presidential election, Mr Buhari has relentlessly railed against the negative influence of social media since coming to power.

After realising the enormous control that social media has in shaping public opinion, even amongst citizens with little education or financial ability to be on the Internet, Mr Buhari started introducing different tactics to regulate online speech.

A few months after assuming office in 2015, members of his ruling APC pushed a so-called social media bill that civil liberties campaigners said was too offensive to be accepted in a democratic system.

The bill was summarily defeated, but the government pushed at least two other similar bills, including one that proposed death penalty for online speech, that was defeated under the Bukola Saraki-led parliament.

But shortly after narrowly securing a second term, Mr Buhari agreed with his aides that it was necessary to control social media, according to sources familiar with the matter.

Several ways to ensure that the government’s message dominated the public space with little to no pushback from citizens were suggested.

“It was while the government was trying to find ways to control the media space that Adamu Garba’s company was picked as one of the promising businesses that could proffer solutions,” an administration official said.

“The seriousness of controlling social media cannot be overplayed”, he added.

Mr Garba earned instant name recognition in 2018 after showing interest in running for president against Mr Buhari. He summarily abandoned his campaign and became a recognisable voice in support of the president. The regime provided hundreds of millions to Mr Garba’s firm in anticipation that its Crowwe platform would make a sufficient dent on the appeal of Facebook and Twitter, officials briefed on the matter said under our policy on anonymous sources.

But two years after funding began and several months after Crowwe was introduced to the public, the app has not appealed to Nigerians on the scale expected by both the regime and its developers. Only a few thousands users have signed up and even then, the app has been riddled with complaints around its functionality.

As part of efforts to give life to Crowwe, Mr Garba, sought to push Twitter out of Nigeria, filing a lawsuit against the platform in the wake of last October’s historic #EndSARS campaign.

More than any other social media rivals, Mr Garba saw Twitter’s presence in Nigeria as an existential threat to his own platform and assumed its exit would push Nigerians to his own platform by default.

But his expectation was again dashed this month when his platform failed to pick up despite the government’s ban on Twitter. Instead, Mr Garba found his Crowwe app removed from Google Play Store a week after the Twitter ban following a deluge of complaints from users.

He said the app was taken down to upload but failed to explain why it was only Crowwe that required being taken down before an update could be pushed to enhance user experience.

The app was largely unusable that Mr. Buhari, his administration officials, and supporters had to move to Indian platform Koo following their exit from Twitter earlier this month.

The presidency did not return a request seeking comments from The Gazette about its dealings with Mr Garba.

Mr Garba confirmed to The Gazette that he received funds from the government but said it was one of several payments the government paid for a series of “intervention” projects his company executed for the government.

“We do projects and receive payments from the Central Bank,” Mr. Garba said. “I think it is a project we did for the EFCC”, he added.

He was silent on whether or not the projects were through competitive bidding in line with extant public procurement regulations.

Crowwe was “100 percent developed by us internally,’’ Mr. Adamu said.

“We are even looking for investors locally and internationally. We are looking for investors to further scale up and improve Crowwe capacity”, he appealed.

Sports / Samson Siasia Back To Football After CAS Quashes Life Ban. by ICTNetworldNg(m): 1:23pm On Jun 22, 2021
Samson Siasia will have an opportunity to coach again as the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) quashed the life ban imposed on him by FIFA for alleged match-fixing.

The former Super Eagles coach had been slammed with a life ban by the world football governing body on April 16, 2019, on allegations he agreed in principle to “receive bribes in relation to the manipulation of matches.”

He had subsequently been fined CHF 50,000 (Swiss Francs) as punishment for his culpability in the sordid affair.
But ruling on the matter in Lausanne, Switzerland on Monday, June 21, 2021, following a diligent look at the former Nigerian international’s case, CAS had averred that there was not sufficient evidence to tie him to the weighty allegations as negotiations of a potential deal with his would-be employer fell through midway.

The Holland 2005 FIFA U-20 World Cup silver-winning gaffer was, therefore, let off the hook with a concurrent, slap-on-the-wrist sentence of 5 years that should be elapsing in August 2023.

CAS had also set aside the hefty CHF 50,000 fine as it maintained that Siasia did not benefit financially from the match-fixing plan.

Siasia, a member of the groundbreaking Super Eagles squad that debuted at the USA 1994 World Cup has spent the last two years trying to prove his innocence as the match-fixing scandal weighed heavily on him.
CAS’s decision not to uphold the ban now means he can get his coaching career back on track.
