The National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC),
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has said he is aware that Nigerians are angry over years of leadership failure in the country, and the inability of the current government to improve their quality of life.
He however, pleads with the people to not give up, but
instead, give the ruling party another chance in the next
presidential election to correct the wrongs.
Tinubu who is going all out for the presidency in a
potentially political career ending contest, has been up and
doing, making consultations and seeking support from
influential persons across the country.
His most recent jaunt saw him visit elder statesman, Alhaji
Tanko Yakasai, who confirmed that the APC National Leader
not only informed him of his desire to contest in the next
presidential election, but also “asked for my support.”
“He (Tinubu) just came to visit me but actually I have two of them (presidential aspirants) that I have earmarked right from the beginning and I made a vow that any one of them who came to ask for my support first is the person I would support. Tinubu is the first person, ” he told told Saturday Punch.
It is believed that Tinubu is determined to contest in the
next election even if it means running on a different
platform should the APC fail to give him the party’s
ticket.
Speaking in Kano in what would be seen as a political
statement from a man who hopes to succeed Buhari in 2023, Tinubu is already laying the ground work, promising to address the many challenges currently facing the country.
When you see the social media today, you see the minds of
our youths. They are angry, but we appeal to them that we
will listen to them,” Tinubu said in the statement.
He said the poor state of the nation’s economy has forced Nigerians into compulsory fasting, adding that the current government need to do more to address these urgent issues.
“Your own employment rate is 33% and you ask us to keep on fasting. The one we are fasting spiritually is voluntary.
We have been fasting for so many years.”
He added that sovereignty is that of Nigeria and it is only
the federal government that has the sovereign power and
must use it to improve the quality of life of Nigerians.

There was chaos and unrest in Yaoundé, Cameroon recently after a man reportedly won 13 billion CFA Francs ($22 million) on 1xBet but wasn’t paid. It was gathered that the man played a bet with $350 (200,000 CFA Francs) and won the 13bn CFA Frans/22 million dollars, but, rather than pay him the money, the sports betting company allegedly closed and deleted his account.
When he visited the office to complain, they offered him
$687,000 (400 million CFA Francs).
He was said to have rejected it and demanded the original sum but the betting company reportedly refused.
The man went to inform people in his neighbourhood and
this provoked youths who then stormed the Sports betting centre.
It erupted into a riot as youths were said to have wielded weapons demanding that the man be paid his 13 billion
CFA Francs.

UK-based Yoruba nationalist, Adeyinka Grandson has been convicted on charges of terrorism, inciting genocide and conspiracy to commit terrorism.

Adeyinka was first arrested in August 2019, by the Scotland Yard Counter Terrorism Command London of the Metropolitan Police under the approval of the Westminster Magistrates’ Court, London.

The Scotland Yard Counter Terrorism Command arrested Grandson for allegedly “stirring racial discrimination” against the Igbo and Fulani ethnic groups and also “encouraging terrorism”.

After being grilled for nine hours, Grandson denied any involvement in terrorism or encouraging racial hatred and said YYF only supports the return of Nigeria to the regional system.

He was granted bail on the evening of his arrest while his passport, two Google phones, one Apple MacBook laptop computer, one tablet, a hard drive, and a draft copy of his new book were seized.

Among the conditions for his bail include are: he must sleep and live at his home address only and can’t access, use, or post on Facebook, Youtube, Tumblr, or the website linked to the YYF.

He was asked to return to the police on September 2 for further investigation.

He was reported to have recently called for secession with respect to the Yoruba race and threatened the north with the use of chemical weapons if the southwest is attacked under any guise.

The YYF, which Grandson heads, is a youth organisation established to “appeal to the consciousness of young Yorubas and support a return to the regional system of government or outright dissolution of Nigeria in favour of the Oduduwa Republic.”

I retired last year at 60 years as a senior management officer in my company. I collected my 30million Naira saved money from my banks, and use 10million Naira to set up my wife's business so that she can take care of her personal expenses. I told the man that, I am her husband and still alive. I collected the original certificate from him.
The man turned back without uttering a word. I confronted my wife about it and she said, she wanted to add the money to her business.
This morning, Local Govt officials came with Police to arrest my wife for forging my death certificate in order to collect money from government. I can't imagine myself going to police station to bail a woman who declared me dead while I am still alive.

Controversial human rights activist and supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr Kenechukwu Okeke has been killed in Anambra State. Okeke was said to have been macheted by his attackers numbering seven. The controversial activist who had dragged many celebrities and media outfits, including CNN to court for defaming President Muhammadu Buhari and his administration was killed in Nkpor, near Onitsha, Anambra State, in the presence of his wife, Mrs Blessing Odinakachi Okeke and his little daughter.

Okeke’s wife who made the allegations disclosed to DAILY POST said: “Kenechukwu Okeke was killed by his tenant.
”The Tenant, Chiadiobi, was living in our house, but when he packed out without our knowledge and asked to be given two months of his rent that he left, we told him he should have notified us that he was packing out”, the wife told our reporter.
“My husband was not around the day he came but I told him he packed out of the house without our knowledge and should not be given back any money. He threatened to deal with us, saying he will teach my husband a lesson. I called
my husband and told him what the boy said and that he should not come to confront him, since they say he is a bad boy.
“My husband later reported the matter to the DSS and to the police, and he was made to write an undertaking, but he was still coming to terrorize us. Sometimes he will come to our house and break open the gate and come in and pick whatever he wants to pick.

“One day, he came to our house and my husband confronted him, without knowing that he had many boys with him downstairs, and before my husband could do anything, they macheted him, and the fuel we wanted to pour into our gen, they poured it on him and lit him up, and that was how my husband died.
“That day was Sunday and not everyone was around, and the few people around tried to quench the fire and also stop it from burning our house, and later we took him to hospital in Enugu, and that was how he died.”Mrs Okeke lamented that since after her husband’s death in October, the family has been left alone with the burden of catering for his burial, just as no mention or quest by any
organisation to take up his matter has been heard of.
She said what was more heart-rending was that her husband's killer; Chiadiobi, is still in the neighbourhood, bragging about having dealt with Okeke, while also confronting her husband’s aged mum.
“He even recently confronted my husband's mother, warning her that he heard that she is taking the matter up, and was warning her to be careful. The boy is still free, going around and without remorse, and we are just left alone to do the arrangements of the burial.
“Up till now, he has not been arrested, even though we took him to police and DSS, and he was made to write an undertaking that he will not disturb us again, but he has finally killed him.
I'm not even understanding the police on this matter. I'm confused. The boy is behaving like he is untouchable, and everyone is saying that he is a bad boy and we should be careful. We live in Nkpor, near Onitsha, Tarzan junction.”
When DAILY POST reached out to the Anambra State Police Command, the spokesperson of the Command, DSP Toochukwu Ikenganyia, said that the police is aware of the matter.
“It is a reported case, but for now I can tell you that the matter is still sketchy. Just give me some time, I will get back to you with the full details of the matter,” he said.
Okeke had been a staunch supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari administration and was reputed to have backed the federal government and its activities during the EndSARS protest in October 2020.
He had also dragged some celebrities, including Davido, Flavour, and others to court for leading the EndSARS protests in various cities in the country.
He recently dragged Vanguard Newspapers and one of its reporters to court over its title of March 9, 2021, where the paper reported that the self-acclaimed human rights activist is an alleged fake lawyer.

Year 1992/1993 we moved to the village cuz my dad was seriously ill(spiritual attack) one day,a man that died in Lagos was brought home for burial and being a small and quiet village without electricity as at then,there were hardly activities so this burial attracted lots of people because they were going to put on gen and electric bulbs which only happen few times a wealth person is having any form of celebration and venue was just opposite my maternal grandfather's house. My Aunt was fixing someone's hair outside that unfateful afternoon and they just rushed there leaving their combs, mirror and other stuff at the veranda outside.
I came outside to do something I can't recall and saw the mirror,took it and was playing with it,looked at myself,the ceiling of the house and a silly ideal just enter my head to look at people at the burial place with the mirror while backing them.. it was all fun till I saw the men carrying the casket into the house. A man on pure white cloth like garment,with cotton wool on his nostrils was sitting on top of the casket, stretching out his hands forward. Cold enter me immediately,I screamed and almost had convulsion,my grandma (of blessed memory) who was already at the passage of the house coming out hastened her steps,too the mirror from me and rushed me inside. I was seriously ill for many weeks and spiritual stuffs had to be done with many many razor blade incisions marked all over my body. Couldn't close eyes to sleep at night or stay alone or sleep on the edge of bed. It wasn't funny that year. I was around 7 or 8 yrs old then.

There are high and low times in life and if everyone of us post our downtimes on the internet there will only be doom and gloom.
At 3 years after graduation, sincerely, I don't think wealth acquisition should be your priority. You should be under mentorship on your way to mastering a skill, building the right network and improving your communication skills and soft but powerful skills of loyalty, integrity and attention to details.
In Yoruba, there's an adage that if you are drinking garri and lean for now, you should know what you are using your body for i.e why it is so for now. You don't deserve pity because you are not a beggar.

I don't really understand why Nigeria leaders lack vision for a greater nation like ours!

What would be the economy advantage of this bridge rather than building small and medium size industries around the state. We are not ripe for this kind of bridge in a nation where maintenance culture is not practiced or valued.
It is like it will be use to generate revenue but they would keep budgeting money year in and year out for an invincible maintenance, we really need a visionary leaderships not visionary thieves in the name of leaders!
