onuman: And you have been drinking crude oil and gas in the Niger delta region since 1960 to develop what you call your land. Where in Nigeria's constitution was indegene mentioned? Educated illiterates who don't understand that in a country, every citizen is entitled to invest and settle anywhere in the country. Did I or my people ever lay claim to the Niger Delta Oil? Did we call it no man's oil? Check the Nigerian Constitution very well, it's a State comprising of many nations. And no nation can solely lay claim to resources of another nation within the Nigerian state unless it's for national collective use or development. The Niger Delta oil you are laying claim to again here, does it belongs to the dot in a circle region? You are actually the uneducated illiterate here because you don't understand that, the country allowing you to invest and live in any part of country and places you are not from does not make the place your personal property or make you eligible to contest elections in their local elections especially when you vehemently oppose and disallow same in your enclave. Infact, an ebonyi person is seen as less Ibo to an anambra Ibo and cannot head in the Anambra local markets buy lands or be appointed or elected in Anambra. A fellow Ibo cannot enjoy such benefit, it's totally prevented and considered a taboo for a noon Igbo to try to achieve such. And you want to do it in other people ancestral lands. No way! If you like cry us a river. |

onuman: You hate them, they are also learning to hate you. Alas, we shall know the losers when things come to a point. That's no problem. You can't be enjoying the comfort that my land , my govt and policies give you as a non indigenous people and still hate me. So, if you Wana hate me, you have to stop benefiting from me by leaving my land. And hate me from afar. |

If you don't want to pay tax in Lagos cos Lagosians changed street names, pack your businesses and leave. We did not beg you to establish business here. |

kolente: PBAT & Governor Sanwolu would be setting one of the worst precedence with this singular act.
It should be condemned in all ramification and it is definately in bad taste with a tribal bias.
All this division started after Peter Obi won the Presidential Elections in Lagos !
Haba ! I am a Yoruba Lagosian, over 80% of my friends are Igbo's and we never lived like this in Lagos State.
3/4 of the commercial activities and SMEs in Lagos as at today is promoted by the Igbo's being commerce centred. We lived as brothers through decades.
Let Government know that the seeds we sow today will germinate for lifetime.
The last LG Elections also showed same pattern with threats and bully of the S/E people with tearing of LP posters in Amuwo Odofin.
We are not like this in Lagos and politicians should not divide us ! That does not give them rights to our local elections in Lagos. Especially, when no non Igbo is allowed to contest elections in the East |

Talksbusiness: yea i do
You’re absolutely right about the challenges — no sugar-coating that. Maintenance costs are crazy, and with fuel and inflation, private owners driving themselves barely break even.
But that’s why we’re approaching it differently at ATIAT.
We don't just throw cars into random use — we partner with vetted companies and verified drivers, with clear contracts, routine documentation, and proper fleet monitoring. It’s not a one-size-fits-all hustle. For some, we handle corporate leases, others go into fleet rentals with returns spread monthly, and some just need vehicle documentation support to stay compliant and reduce LASTMA wahala.
You mentioned people using scrap — true. But we also work with people who want their car to work without getting wrecked. That’s the sweet spot. Think about it like this: ✅ Fixed monthly income (contract-based) ✅ No daily driving stress ✅ Maintenance included in some plans ✅ You always retain ownership
This isn’t for everyone, but it can be profitable with the right structure. We’re building that structure — for ourselves and others who want legit, managed returns.
I’m happy to share real examples privately if anyone’s serious. Also, thanks for pointing out the realities — more people need to know the truth and the options. How can I contact you to understand your business model well and to know how best and appropriate for me to enter and benefit from your business model |

kingmsookwagh: My mum has trained all of us to that point where we don't get to ask her for anything, but cater for ourselves and she as a person still works and has a retirement plan that can take care of her even when she is old. Forget! that woman's retirement benefits will be enough for her and even extended family members. I believe the writer is just encouraging us to plan not to be burdens to our children. But not literally saying you shouldn't help in taking care of your parents when things get tough for them. What you are saying is different from what he said. If what he said is the truth, then your mom does not owe you or your siblings education and or help with career mentorship, even feeding. You can be treated like northern almajiri. She can be selfish and chop her money alone. Cos she just may not owe you anything too |

Talksbusiness: Hello Nairalanders,
I’ve been curious lately — how are people making legit money off their cars in Nigeria?
We all know fuel, maintenance, and wear & tear can kill motivation to drive daily. But some folks say they lease out their vehicles, or even use them in corporate fleet deals that pay monthly.
🧠 My Questions: Have you or anyone you know leased a personal car before? How did they connect with the company or platform? Was it profitable? What are the risks involved? Also, I heard some people even earn passively just by fixing their money (fixed deposits) instead of leaving it in savings accounts — claiming they get up to 17% annually. Is that real?
I’m genuinely interested in hearing from anyone with real-life experience, advice, or referrals. I’m looking to diversify income, not necessarily become a driver myself.
Drop your thoughts or experiences 👇 Let’s educate ourselves.
P.S. If you’ve explored Proof of Funds for visa or study abroad stuff, I’d love to hear how that worked too. Some say it saves time and hassle for visa approval. True or false?
Thanks! I am still believing people make money from it, especially as additional income. Not the main income. |

tutudesz: Honestly Tinubu is a brave man for removing it immediately, I wish he will take suçh decisions on security and corruption too regardless of political opinions. And custom duties. Duties for imported vehicles in this country is too high. Too high for a country that does not produce vehicles herself. |

SSpeter: It is only envy and resentment that will make you dislike people because they are chest beating. There is no humble criminal or arrogant criminal, all criminals should be treated equally. I do not care if someone is humble neither do I care if they are arrogant. All criminal should be dealt with according to the law. But if a non native or national is a criminal and still conduct himself in a spiteful arrogant way chest beating around the city that he owns the city and the natives can do nothing...... He will attract enormous hate towards himself, tribe and nationality in a magnitude that he won't be able to stop. That is the reality on ground, we can't put all the blames on South Africans, we share some of the blames too. Nigerians need to stop illegal criminal enterprises in foreign lands and start to rebuild trust. It will take years but it's do able. |

SSpeter: will you tolerate a humble drug dealer and a down to earth love-vendor? Such with humility can be rehabilitated and made to change his or her devilish ways. But an arrogant drug dealer who feels he is doing you a favour by peddling drugs in your country is harmful and incorrigible. |
Family › Re: South Africans Protest Burial Of Nigerian Man In Their Village by Idaytesj29(m): 11:18am On Jul 11, 2025 |
SSpeter: there is nothing like chest beating if someone is confident and arrogant let them, you face your front. Why should my bragging pain you? As long as I am not encroaching on your right, you need not worry about my chest beating unless you are envious Arrogance and chest beating in foreign land? If I were SA people too, I won't tolerate a chest beating and arrogant drug dealer and love-vendor in my community. Doing crimes and still being pumpous and proud of it is not the right attitude. |
